I greatly appreciate this video. However, I have really bad dandruff I am not sure I could wash my hair without scrubbing my head. I have recently purchase the whole line, today will be my first try. Do you have any advice when it comes to scrubbing my hair or what to use to help with the dandruff?
@tiney2411 Yes. You can scrub your scalp to get it as clean as needed. This is not a problem. You can also apply our hair growth oil to the scalp before applying the deep conditioner and deep conditioning with heat. This help a great deal. Thanks for using our products!
@TheShanny831 Hi.The Hydratherma Naturals Products are available at the HealthyHairJourney com website and at retail stores listed on the locations link. thx1
I sooo love your videos I found you on facebook and I posted two pics on your wall I'm FeliciaSeekinghisfaceNunneryKnight :-) I never learned how to care for my hair and I thank God for you......
@porshased You have to use a styler to hold your curls. Hydratherma Naturals has 2 stylers- the botanical defining gel and the foaming sea silk curly styler thx!
Love your videos, thanks for sharing your process. I was wondering about your follicle invigorator. The front of my hair (hairline to crown & about 2-3 inches accross the top) is a looser, wavier pattern than the rest of my hair and it also does not seem as dense as the rest of my hair. I've worn my hair texturized for about 15 years and natural since May '08. As I've gotten older, this area seems thinner. Would the follicle invigorator be good for this?
Love your videos. Your an inspiration. I have been looking to figure out my hair type. No big deal but your hair reminds me of my texture when its naturaly curly. Do you know your hair type? Thanks and take care.
@HealthyHairJourney Thanks That sounds like my hair type. The crown of my hair and some of the front is more loose. The back is more tightly coiled. Thanks!
@polarBEAR819 No, I condition my hair weekly and the key is balancing our your moisture and protein levels in the hair. I alternate my Hydratherma Naturals moisture deep conditioner with the protein deep conditioner every other week to keep my hair in balance. I have more details on our HealthyHairJourney com website.
@imples87 Hi! I use many protective styles although I don't like to wear them to often. I love wearing my hair out. I have many examples on my styling guide on our HealthyHairJourney com website. Thanks!
Hello, I have some questions, can u please help me.
I'm been transitioning for over a year. I've been trimming my hair every three months to get rid of the relaxed hair, should I trim more often? I wanted to transition for three years without the big chop. Once I'm completely transitioned how often should trim? Can get ur products in retail stores as well.
@231Terrilc Yes, our products are sold in some retail stores. Please see our HealthyHairJourney com website for our retail list. You can trim as often you wish while you are slowly transitioning until all of the relaxed ends are gone. You can trim as often as you wish once you are all natural also. I trim my ends twice a year because I don't have color and rarely use heat. thx
I'm having a hard time comprehending how you can go a week or two without pasing a comb thru ur hair and still wear it out. Do you mostly keep it up in a pony tail? How do you get your hair to look the way it does in the beginning of this video after sleeping on it at night?
@ReSpEcThErMiNdAlLdAy In a previous response, she states there are videos available from her site and/or YT channel that shows how she finger styles her hair daily.
I, too, only use a comb once every 7-14 days. I haven't used a bristle brush in over a year. I just recently purchased a new one since my relaxed sisters & nieces have made off with some of the tools I used while relaxed.
I haven't tried her products but I do wear Wash-and-Gos most of the time.
@ReSpEcThErMiNdAlLdAy I just finger comb daily. That is all that I need. You can twist your hair in large twist at night after applyng the Hydratherma Naturals products which will soften the hair up. I sleep in a sati bonnet nightly and fluff in the morning after removing the twists. I am wearing a wash and go in the beginning of the vid.
I have a question. I mostly have my hair in cornrows and I really tangled hair after washing but I brush it out before i get it done again. Is that fine?? Also my hair does major shedding when I take it out of the braids, is that normal??
@lescomicmaker Yes, that is fine. Be sure to comb out the hair after taking the braids out. Keep in mind that the hair sheds 70 to 100 strands per day so if you are not combing the hair all week, you are probably experiencing normal shedding.
shampoo seems to shrink my hair when washing and makes it feel toooo clean, not a good feeling at all but the clarify shampoo def gets all the gook out, i just dont like how it makes my hair feel
@yoruba21 Yes, the moisture boosting shampoo is very concentrated. If your hair feels too squeaky clean you may be using too much. I don't suggest using more than a dime / quarter size amount of shampoo to the scalp and squeezing through to the hair ends.
i have been natural for over a yr and i have great growth with very little breakage!.. yet i dread the days i wash and sytle my hair. by watching your video i now realize that i wasnt properly detangling my hair while it still had the deep conditioner on it which was very painful to comb through.. thanks again for showing the correct way to detangle my hair- your videos have been very informative showing us how to take care of our natural hair which is very important for growth and health!!
I love your personality. Even as a business owner you don't over sale your products with arrogant lip service. You appear confident, humble, and generally care about healthy natural hair. Love this demo! Your products have been on my wishlist for awhile now. Can't wait to try'em out!!
Wow! Thanks so much for this vid! I have been transitioning for less than two months and I am already struggling to detangle. It's just SO frustrating. You are so right about washing over the sink, so my step 1 is to go shower only. Thank you, thank you, thank you! What would I do without the YouTube natural hair fam?!
nice video. I appreciate to detailed explaination and demostration. Some ppl on youtube get in the shower and do tutorials and they are not wearing any clothes. Very classy and tasteful!
That was a very straight forward and extremely helpful video. I, too, wash once a week and was concerning about shedding until you explained it. But still my hair doesn't retain length like it did when I had a chemical relaxer which I why I am so tempted to get another one. My natural hair looks healthy but hardly any length which I don't like. but thank you so much for the info, It was very helpful.
@HealthyHairJourney yes but ur curls hang in ur face with elongation. Thats what i want..... i have 4c hair and it sticks up straight in the hair and shrinks to my hair when it dries
@NaturalQueenDoll Yes the Hydratherma Naturals products are available online and in some stores. Please send me a PM with your location and I will let you know if we have a retailer in your area.
@imples87 Yes, I never comb my hair while it is in its natural state because there is really no need to. I just finger comb my hair. Please check out my curly fro video. I show how I finger comb daily. Thanks!
I love your hair and you are my inspiration. So based on your series of videos, I plan to follow your guidelines and see if I get similar results. i will keep you posted. Thanks and keep the advice coming.
ok so, I'm going to place my order tonight. I am now a year into this and am still learning. I have learned that my hair is protein sensitive, but maybe I was over doing it. I was going to BC again because I am noticing more knots at the ends of my hair and I still have major shedding and breakage (like I did when I was relaxed), but thank God for thick hair! I will try the Hydratherma Naturals line before cutting
@lovingrinnell Heat allows the strand to expand so that the Hydratherma Naturals deep conditioning treament can penetrate the strand easier. If you dont like using the hood dryer you should try out cordless heating cap available on our
w w w HealthyHairJourney com website. It works very well and I use it on the reqular now since it is getting warmer and I don't like to sit under the dryer in the summer..lol...Thanks
Thank you soooo much for making this video. Your videos are very helpful and are helping me to continue on this journey. My hair has grown tremendously since my decision to stop perming back in February, 2009. You have been a great inspiration to me. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being "natural"!!! :-)
Oh, one more thing, can these products be used for transitioning hair? I am in the process of taking out my daughter's micro's and she has very thick hair and has not had a relaxer since November, but she got her braids in March. Which products do you recommend? Thanks for your response!!
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I am going to check out your products as I can get them from a local vendor in my city. You have made it so, so, so easy to maintain a moisture/ protein balance and not just telling us we need it to, but showing us how to do/achieve it is awesome!!! I pray God continue to shower down many blessings on you!!!!
@rs61966 Thanks for writing. Transitioning can be very challenging. The key is keeping your newgrowth very moisturized. I suggest that she massage her scalp / new growth once - twice a day with our follicle invigorator, growth lotion and growth oil. Just a small amount. The more she massages, the better. This will prevent some of the breakage that she will experience while she transitions. I have some transitioning tips on my website under the natural hair tab.
Love the hair! What is your hair regimen? Do you use the clarifying shampoo and moisture boosting shampoo every week? When do you switch to your moisture boosting conditioner? Oh and could you do a vid on how you achieve the style in the beginning?! =] Thanks!
@PrettyBrownEyes718 Hey! I have my hair regimen on my HairHairJourneycom website. I use both shampoos weekly. I alternate moisture and protein deep conditioning treatments every other week. I sure will make a vid of my wash and go very soon! thanks!
Awesome video! I only comb my hair when it is full of condish and in the shower...I feel like I loose less hair and my styles come out better. I also divide mine into sections to wash. Your hair looks NICE and HEALTHY! Thanks for the vid and tips!
@jnels316 Hey! Yes they are available online and in some local beauty supply stores. Please email me your location and I'll let ya know if we have a retailer there
@kyriosmike try co-washing, it's where u only use conditioner, that way ur hair won't dry up as much from all the washing. "hair one" is a good cleanser that's a conditioner
Great hair! I'm wondering, how often are you trimming your ends now? I saw one of your older videos when you trimmed your ends, I guess a few months after your BC. Can you show us how you are trimming now that your hair is longer? BTW, loving the products!
@blessmytresses Sure! I will be doing a video on trimming my hair when I do my next trim. I trim my hair only 'as needed'. If you aren't using heat and chemicals you don't have to trim as much.
Great vid! Just one question...are you drying your hair before you are putting in the condish? I'm a customer for life, just waiting for my next delivery.
Just got my products today! I'm so excited to start using them. You said that you wash it once a week. Do you spritz it everyday, every other day? I'm scared to use the daily products without water each day. Guess I need to figure out how to style it in between. Thanks for your informative videos and I can't wait to make progress using your line.
@miscellaneousable That is great! Thanks so much. I do not spritz my hair with water daily. It won't hurt but it is not necessary because most of the daily styling products are already water based. Blessings!
In April it will be a year of using your products. I love them! This thickness, health and shine of my hair is incredible. Thanks for this vid and your hair is sprouting like weeds! Love it!
So glad to see your video. I'm still using your whole product line and I love it. I had been wondering when you were going to do another video. Keep up the great work and your hair is still beautiful.
Hi Selena......I have a question how do u stop further breakage and get the hair to start growing when it has broke? I have a spot in the back of my head and i swear i think my hair broke off and idk how it happened
So glad you posted this vid, I just purchased your products and will be using them tomorrow, so hopefully my hair is on its way to a healthier state! thanks so much!
sidenote- all of your products smell delicious. just wanna eat it! not. lol
IMO, this is your best video. It's great to see your routine for shampooing and conditioning. Blessings & Prosperity to you as you continue to share your wisdom!
Your hair is having AMAZING GROWTH!! I just received my new order of the Growth Lotion. I've tried A LOT of "top natural products" and I will say THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE GROWTH LOTION!! Seriously, that stuff is the truth!!
I love your videos! They've inspired me to take much better care of my hair than I have been. My hair is about the same length as yours and I can't wait for it to grow longer and healthier!
After i bc'd i change my hair regimen to washing and styling (usually two strand twist) once a week. The first time I did this I had a lot of hair shedding and i thought my hair was falling out but like you said it's because I haven't comb my hair all week. Now Im a 1 1/2 months post BC and my hair has grown. Watching your video has given me the assurance that it wasn't breakage. Thanks for sharing :)
Great vid and tips!! Unfortunately, I have to wash my hair in the sink b/c I developed a shower allergy. If I'm in there too long, I began to sneeze and my eyes swell. It's the weirdest reaction and it lasts until the next time I shower, sometimes longer. It doesn't matter where I shower. It's sad b/c I used to take hours to shower and took it for granted lol. So I've worked around the sink tangles. I will at least try quickly washing in shower to prevent tangles, then condition outside.
Good to see you back! I purchased theFollicle Invigorator, Growth Lotion and Leave-in Conditioner and I have been very pleased with them. My 4A hair has responded well to them.
You have not created any styling products yet , have you? I was wondering what you use for twistouts, braidouts, for smoothing your hair back for puffs, etc?
Wow, you made that look so easy, I think this is what my hair needs, when I have to detangle my hair it's not my favorite thing to do great video, you didn't even have to detangle your hair first without combing it for days. Wow, is All I Can Say. This was a great way to show just how good your product is. Wow!!!
Good to see you back! I purchased the Follicle Invigorator, Protein Balance Leave-In Conditioner and Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion and have been really pleased with your products. My 4A hair has responded well to them.
Question: I don't believe you have created any styling products yet (for twistouts, braidouts, wash & gos, etc) correct? What do you use for these styles and for smoothing hair back for puff?
nice song!

Thanks for your response!!
rs61966 1 year ago
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I am going to check out your products as I can get them from a local vendor in my city. You have made it so, so, so easy to maintain a moisture/ protein balance and not just telling us we need it to, but showing us how to do/achieve it is awesome!!! I pray God continue to shower down many blessings on you!!!!
rs61966 1 year ago

=] Thanks!
PrettyBrownEyes718 1 year ago
@PrettyBrownEyes718 Hey! I have my hair regimen on my HairHairJourneycom website. I use both shampoos weekly. I alternate moisture and protein deep conditioning treatments every other week. I sure will make a vid of my wash and go very soon! thanks!

i also wash my hair every 7 days, but because i excersice a lot and swet, my hair smell... is that healthy for the hair??
kyriosmike 1 year ago
@kyriosmike Maybe you can try conditioner washes with our moisture boosting deep conditioner
HealthyHairJourney 1 year ago
@kyriosmike try co-washing, it's where u only use conditioner, that way ur hair won't dry up as much from all the washing. "hair one" is a good cleanser that's a conditioner

Great hair! I'm wondering, how often are you trimming your ends now? I saw one of your older videos when you trimmed your ends, I guess a few months after your BC. Can you show us how you are trimming now that your hair is longer? BTW, loving the products!
blessmytresses 1 year ago
@blessmytresses Sure! I will be doing a video on trimming my hair when I do my next trim. I trim my hair only 'as needed'. If you aren't using heat and chemicals you don't have to trim as much.

Just got my products today! I'm so excited to start using them. You said that you wash it once a week. Do you spritz it everyday, every other day? I'm scared to use the daily products without water each day. Guess I need to figure out how to style it in between. Thanks for your informative videos and I can't wait to make progress using your line.
miscellaneousable 1 year ago
@miscellaneousable That is great! Thanks so much. I do not spritz my hair with water daily. It won't hurt but it is not necessary because most of the daily styling products are already water based. Blessings!

Awesome tutorial. I'm curious...what's the actual time of this weekly process from start to finish.
JoAnnGray 1 year ago
@JoAnnGray It usually takes about 45 minutes including the 15 min under the dryer with the deep conditioner and another 15 min for the temp color.
thanks!

I was wondering what you use for twistouts, braidouts, for smoothing your hair back for puffs, etc?
mcgeechevelle 1 year ago
@mcgeechevelle You can use a gel like ic styling gel if you like a little extra hold. Ecco gel works well too but just not as much.
HealthyHairJourney 1 year ago
Wow, you made that look so easy, I think this is what my hair needs, when I have to detangle my hair it's not my favorite thing to do great video, you didn't even have to detangle your hair first without combing it for days. Wow, is All I Can Say. This was a great way to show just how good your product is. Wow!!!
