1969 kalamazoo mi i was panhandling in front of a club ( the top of a barn)
when brownsville station walked up they asked where they could buy some wine and i told them ... they came back with the wine and asked what i was panhandling for and i said to see "brownsville station" Cub gave us the money to get in, it wasn't til he was on stage that we knew who he was.. what a great guy and what a great night btw he was just as much the entertainer then too.... RIP Cub
I saw them twice back around '90. He was a great musician and quite a character. We were sitting up front and my girlfriend grabbed one of his guitar picks off the floor and gave it to me. I just wish I wouldn't have lost it.
I never realized how good of a guitarist Kub Koda was. He was definitely underrated. Too bad Brownsville Station never got the recognition it deserved. They were a smokin live band.
This guy was one of the greatest live performers I ever saw. And he did most of it in clubs like this. Beautiful, just beautiful. Sure do miss ya, Cub.
Hi I am Chris Driggins, the brother of the Bassist "Tony "Tone' Driggins.
I always think of him practicing with Mile Lutz, Cubby Coda and others in our basement in Michigan.
I am also known as Chris Birdman Driggins in Vancouver, Washington
