Can't get enough. Saw Carrie last week and can't get this beautiful song and message out of my head. Seeing her live adds the stories and personality which, if possible, make it even better thank just listening here with my eyes closed ...
Am a 'newcomer' to Carrie and am blown away. Saw her last week and she did this song, and, apparently like everybody else..got goosebumps as the audience sang along.
I was at a concert at Joe's Pub in New York City when I first heard this song. It gave me goosbumps. Carrie invited the audience to participate in the song. What a sacred moment. I felt such a sense of community and wonderful energy from the song and a closeness to the people around me in a way which is so rare here in the bustle of New York. It was a reminder of the connections we all have to one another and of the work which we must all do in the struggle for peace through justice.
Love this song. I was at her Geography of Light concert in Wisconsin Rapids--and she did this song as a sing along. We all sang along to the refrain. Ever since it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it! Really! I simply adore her music...I listen to it CONSTANTLY. You're my fav singer ever Carrie! That was the same concert that we talked to her after...and then she asked if she could hug us(me, my best friend, and her younger sister). Of course we said yes! Makes me think of the concert.
I still haven't caught one of your shows here on the east coast, but, I remember so well sitting wide-eyed and dreamy, watching and listening to you in Indiana, so many times.
Best wishes to you and Rob.
