no you dumb shit, the point was (sigh) that the speccy version was BETTER than the st and amiga so the speccy should have been ported OVER TO the st and amiga!
What a dumb shit YOU ARE. Had you ever seen Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 on ST or Amiga you would see that the Amiga version at least could have been identical to the Sega 16bit console versions ie 95% arcade perfect. Spectrum 2 colour graphical mess + farting beeper noise is for bankrupt loser families..
@MadCommodore what a retarded dumb shit YOU ARE, what has that got to do with outrun being better on the speccy? all you are doing is proving my point even more when you talk about the speccy like that, and when the speccy first came out, loser families could not afford them anyway, lol LOSER!
Yeah, this game was horribly ported to the Amiga, without any improvements whatsoever. They could have at least taken advtange of the Amiga's richer color pallette (twice as many colors on-screen and 4 times larger color pallette) and faster scrolling.
@JasonLee215 it made perfect sense, if you can't grasp what i said which was pretty straight forward for even a minor to understand then you clearly have issues, i'm pretty sure i have spoken to you before and if i remember rightly, you were nothing much more than a prick!
i'm pretty sure a 16 bit computer would be able to handle an 8bit program port, I was pointing out a simple fact that outrun on the spectrum was better than the 16bit counterparts, no need to get all technical about it, its not relevant
Both had their strengths and weaknesses, and both were better in different markets for various types of customer. I chose the Atari STE for things the Amiga could not do for me, such as using Steinberg Cubase for example.
Steinberg Cubase was not available for the Amiga, and there was no way in hell I would use the crappy Music X which I had to use in a band I was in once. No, I chose right and would do so again and have done infact.
It's a remix of Splash Wave if I remember correctly. Me and bob used to measure the pops with a timer and compare it to the beats in the arcade cabinet.
Out-Run arcade game/machine had the same processor as Amiga and Atari ST it has additional hardware automatically scale sprites without requiring intervention (processor) significant faster Out-Run
Pretty bad conversion - not half as good as the speccy version. Shame about the sound on the video as I thought this was the best part of the ST version.
This seems to be running on a real Falcon030 rather than using a Falcon TOS under the STEem emulator because this game didn't run this fast on a real ST.
The conversion is pure shit and the programmer even left all the labels in his code, so the game was easy to hack.
That probably explains why it looks faster and smoother than the Amiga version also on this website.
(Though also, the ST's processor was slightly faster, so if the Amiga conversion was- as is reputed- simply a straight dump of the ST version, then it probably *would* run slightly faster if they didn't exploit the Amiga's superior custom chips).
Ignoring the lack of sound, this still brings back not-so-happy memories, playing that mockery of the arcade game on my ST. On its own merits, it's so-so at best, as a version of Out Run, it's just not funny.
Saturn version of this was near perfect!

No, it's just the ST sound chip. Totally normal.

No, it's not normal. This is rather an issue of the emulator.

I think there's a problem with the sound. Otherwise, a reasonably good conversion both graphics and gameplay wise.

The PPPPPPPPPP sounds while playing the game sounds like the song Magical Sound Shower. Am I Correct?
