@SILENTSHADOW961 Wow, neither did I, thanks for pointing it out. Must be from Affectionately Yours (1941), as the other two actors in the scene are James Gleason and George Tobias, and according to imdb that's the only film they made together.
In 1:42--1:52 (to left of Cagney) are two late great Hollywood actors: here, young handsome George Reeves (minor character Brent Tarleton in 1939 film Gone With the Wind, and starred in 1950s tv series Superman) and Victor Kilian (played grandpa in 1970s tv sitcom-soapopera "Mary Hartman Mary Hartman").
Tragically coincidentally, in later years (Reeves in 1959 and Kilian in late 1970s) both actors were unrelatedly murdered.
(cont.) Here playing entertainingly against type as a Mexicano, one can understand George Reeves' later acute frustration as an actor with being locked, in the 1950s, into a longterm contract to play (as he deemed it, a one-dimensional children's cartoon character) Superman. Yet he played it (as all his roles) with humor, wit, grace and good sportsmanship.
James Cagney is one of my favorite actors and I just LOVE watching him screw up his lines! Also quite glad to finally see some Jimmy Stewart bloopers. Heehee.
the ones at Universal were not going to use Jimmy Stewart in the western Winchester 73: they didnt feel he was tough enough. Anthony Mann looked them straight in the eye and told them, "well he flew 25 bombing missions in the war. Maybe he is."
@ayndxo Did you know that JS was a highly decorated pilot during WW11 but he had it written in his contract that it never be brought up. Talk about dignity & class, unlike the trash we have today. James Cagney what a laugh.
Yeah, I died at that part, too. I get a kick out of outtakes from movies and TV. Especially the looks on their faces when they screw up the lines and stunts.
would love to see Astaire swearing in cheek to cheek when Gingers feathers flew around, guess that is nowhere to find ,but if anyone find it please send it to me . ;-))))
What about I send to you a fat-lip ? -- Fats Domino ; ) ...Do gingers have red feathers ? Why would she take a stair when she can take an elescalatorvator ?Were her feathers flying because she was exercising? Why do you ask so many
hahaha yeah that would have been great. Actually, I would love to find one where Fred Astaire simply messes up! I just want proof that he is human!!! hahaha
Haha, well he really did swaer with Gingers feather dress ;-) love to see that , I have Astaire,s songbook taped from tv, there are some rare footage on it from him rehearsal a dance ,regearsal? ha i wish I could dance like his rehearsal haha ,was filmed by Cole Porter he seldom let people film his rehearsels . He was so a perfectionist ;-) from an other planet I guess ;-)
Didn't any other studios make annual clipreels of mess-ups and bloopers? I'd pay money to see the ones from Paramount -- imagine the 10 Commandments blooper reel!
Terrific seeing all these people again. I loved everyone of them. They provided so much pleasure during my youth. The Sunday afternoon movie was always on in our house, especially during the long winter months.
That is Pat O'Brien. He made many movies. His clame to fame were in movies like "Angels with Dirty faces,The Man Alive,The Strange Case of Clara Dean, and Johnny One-Eye"to name a few.Hope that answers your question.
I love Jimmy Stewart and Rosalind Russell at 2:37. I think they were dating during this film - 1940 "No Time for Comedy". At least it was around that time. "Hello! Hello!" 2:44 :)
Funny! LoL!I like these bloopers especially the ones featuring Brenda Marshall from the movie "East of the River". Great videos. Plesae, keep them coming.
You've got to love Ann Sheridan <3 !
