  • I commend the preacher for his zeal in wanting to spread the gospel but a restaurant is an inappropriate place to be doing that. He should've did his preaching either in an actual church or outside in the streets, not interrupting other people's meals.

  • @rjm22nd

No, I would rather follow Jesus' command to go into all the world and preach... vs. you command to go into all the world, except where inappropriate.

What if someone chocked on their Big Mac and died before getting right with the Lord?

  • sorry dude but "Duet" is not even in the catholic bible.

  • Just the kind of response I've come to expect. Even if you narrow down the scripture to some minority that your specific "faith" encompasses, verses like these can still be found, and you would still try to justify them no matter how grisly the content instead of coming to terms with the absurdity and giving it serious thought.

  • Another reason why I don't eat at McDonald's lol.

  • Not all verses of the bible is meant to be taken literally. There is always a hidden meaning withh in each verse of the Bible.

  • Thank you for making that point which leads me to the point that we do not get our morals from the bible, nobody does.

Your statement inadvertently admits this. You would say the same thing about any part of the bible that didn't fit your morals which probably reflect the majority population's morals.

The verses that religious people claim should not be taken literally will change as moral norms change.

  • Like logic, where does morality come from?

Society as you seem to imply? Do the cannibals have good morals? How about the head hunters? If society determines what is good or bad morals then who are you to say that what they are doing is good or bad?

    Is rape wrong?

    Is murder wrong?

    Is child molestation wrong?

Of course they are, but by what standard do you think you can make such judgments?

  • Society? No I did not imply that. Perhaps that is the answer you hoped I would give.

I have a lot to say on the subject of morality, and how and why it definitely DOES NOT come from any god or gods. I will draw your attention however to the fact that America is the most religious country in the world and also has the highest crime/murder rate. Norway, one of the most secular countries has the lowest murder/crime rate. An undeniable demonstration that morality does not come from religion.

  • "If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or thy wife, or thy friend which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly saying "Let us go and serve other gods" Thou shall not consent unto him, neither shalt thine eye pity him:but thou shall surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of the people. And thou shall stone him that he die." Duet. 13:6, 8-10 Is this verse meant to be taken literally or interpreted?

  • isnt funny how people these days refuse to listen to messages about GOD but would much rather listen bout sex?

i support you in your preaching

    keep it up

Jesus once said to "go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature."

  • The bible also says that the penalty for breaking any of the 10 commandments is death. If you're neighbor, best friend or family member breaks one of the commandments it is your responsibility to kill them. If you do not kill them, then you too must be killed.

But nobody follows this rule of the bible because it's ridiculous. So why pick and choose? If the bible were perfect you would not have to pick and choose would you? But the bible is imperfect because it was written not by god but man.

  • What verse is that Bible scholar? One of the ten commandments is, 'Thou shall not kill'.

God's word is true, but your is not. I should believe you instead of my Creator? Ha, ha, ha sinner. Unless you repent you will be cast into the fires of hell forever.

God offered His love for you on the cross, you neglect it still. Why? Because you love your sin more than Jesus.

Please prove to all of us that God did not write His Bible.

  • Why should the burden of proof be on me? The fault is not mine for reading the bible critically and realizing it's logical flaws, the fault is yours for neglecting a dormant mind and accepting the bible as truth without ever thinking.

And for me to present to you the mountain of flaws in the bible, the historical accounts of it's origin (being written by men) and the ludicrous absurdities of it's pages, would be a complete waste of my time because you would not give it proper thought anyway.

  • Let's try some authentic critical thinking.

Do you believe in absolute truth?

    What is your epistemology?

Do you have all knowledge? If not, what % do you think you have?

  • I am not an absolutist, that is something religion teaches and can lead to faulty pseudo-reasoning.

  • Are you making an absolute statement then? There is no absolute truth.

    How do you learn things?(epistimology)

Do you have all knowledge? If not, what % do you think you have?

If you continue to fail to answer these questions, we easily see that you don't want to reason properly.

I am willing to answer any reasonable questions you have. You make arbitrary and inconsistent statements that we are all supposed to just 'believe'.

  • You offer no relativism in your statements. They're much to vague and come across as memorized apologetics recited habitually.

I don't think you understand most of the questions you ask, you give the impressions of a confrontational trained monkey.

What "arbitrary" and "inconsistent" statements have I made? And if you think that I think you are just supposed to "believe" my statements then you are missing the point altogether. I'm trying to encourage critical thinking, not obedient faith.

  • Thanks and God bless you too.

Now back to the questions you still refuse to answer.

    How do you learn things?(epistimology)

Do you have all knowledge? If not, what % do you think you have?

If you continue to fail to answer these questions, we easily see that you don't want to reason properly.

A trained monkey eh? These questions should be too easy for someone as intelligent as you.

  • Do I have all knowledge? Of course not.

How do I learn things? Study/Research, critical thinking and trial and error (all three in the chronological order stated.)

If not, what % do I think I have? This is an illogical question. It would only be possible for me to measure what % of knowledge I had if I had 100% of knowledge. Why would you ask a question like that?

  • If you claim 10% of ALL knowledge, I don't think you will. But if you did, could the Living God of the Bible exist in the other 90%?

As far as your epistemology goes: who says what your are perceiving is the truth? Who says your eyes, ears, and brain are working right?

No, the % of knowledge is a very logical question. You may not like it because it calls your worldview into question.

Interesting you mention logic. Everyone has some level of it, where does it come from; evolution?

  • I have enough knowledge to know how religion works, and it's origins. What I know about the origins of religion alone is enough to convince me that there is no god.

Who says what I am perceiving is truth? I don't think you know how science works. Each theory goes through rigorous criticism and peer review. Each theory must be demonstrable (consistently) before it is accepted. If there are false claims in science, they are quickly rooted out and dismissed by the scientific community.

  • I know how science works; it is observable, recordable, and repeatable. The word science means; knowledge.

Back to my question; how much knowledge of all that there is do you have?

Logic where did it come from?

Emotions where did it come from?

Justice where did it come from?

Government where did it come from?

Please answer the questions and stop dodging them. Thank you.

  • 500 characters is not enough for me to answer those questions. If you really want to debate then specify another means to do so. I am not dodging your questions, especially the ones that you hadn't asked before. I don't think it's possible to dodge an un-asked question.

  • @johnmcglone4 You didn't answer my questions, so your logic is flawed.

  • @NaumBarker Do you understand what logic is?

  • @johnmcglone4 Of course I know what logic is, which is why I am able to apply it to determine you are trying to find a way around explaining why you are unable to answer my questions. But, I've proven you to not be a real Christian already.

  • @NaumBarker Exactly what questions are you talking about? You may not like my answers but that is different than not able to answer your questions. How do you prove you are a Christian, much less prove that I am not one?

  • @johnmcglone4 The questions I asked over at your "Preacher Battles Riotous Collegians V3. Also, over there, you claimed I'm not a Christian, so how do you prove that you are a Christian or than I'm not?

  • @NaumBarker I know that you have contradicted the Bible. This would be a sign that you may not be saved. Are you obeying God? Are you living in sin?

  • The verse I was referring to was:

"... heresy or blasphemy must be punished with death, even if the heretic should be one's closest kin." (Ibid, Durant, p. 331, Leviticus 24:11-16.)

But it does no good to argue with people like you. Your statement "

God's word is true, but your is not." is a clear indication of your lack of reason and your pigheaded reluctance to think critically.

God for you is just another vice to replace those which you gave up in the face of social disapproval.

  • Oh I have reason alright, in fact God says come let us reason together.

As far as the old testment, I am not a Jew, thus it does not apply to me a Gentile.

  • But the Old Testament is the word of god is it not?

Regardless, the New Testament is no better.

  • should have preached at bk home of the flame broiled whopper.

have you ever told a drawn out script version of a script.

  • You are right, preaching at BK is a good springboard. I will put that on my list of things to do.

  • yeah right after you read the gospel

  • what is the gospel?

  • if you have to ask you will never know.

  • Like I thought you have no idea. Repent and trust Christ or you will be condemned.

  • the gospel is much more than you will ever understand

  • John John John.... *shakes head* Just let the people eat.

  • Yep... Only in America and Saudi Arabia will they make you stop preaching the Gospel in a public place.

  • Another reason why I stopped eating at McChoke and Puke.

  • Awesome!

  • Keep up the good work :)
