  • I love watching this!

  • this goes at around 2500 rpm at top speed

  • Yeah! :)) Put a transmission or a generator on the shaft side! See if you can supersize it so it can fit tomorrow's automobiles.

  • OMFG! it slows down time!!!!

  • I want one!!

  • it looks slow-mo sometime...

  • It is actual speed. But its so fast, its faster than the frame rate of the camera and hence its aliasing. (same reason why car wheels look like their going backwards in old films)

  • the stroboscopic effect of the camera is quite nice

  • Could this work with a parabolic solar collector as a heat source? It seems that on a larger scale it could generate a usable current.

  • Yes, most likely.

  • how much or what can that thing power?

  • @Inkmaster8 Almost nothing. It has almost no torque, meaning i could easily stop it with my pinkie.

  • whats it supposed to do?

  • What a sexy design.

  • that went so fast

  • cool

  • When science becomes art, you know you've got it right.

  • put a generator on it^^

  • It's going so fast it appears to slow down then go in reverse! That's an amazing model =]

  • wow

  • waw

  • Beautiful! Where could I find an engine like this? Can you suggest me an on-line shop for this model? I cannt find it in Italy.

    Thanks. Ciao.

  • It is a REAL Stirling's engine!

But there absent one thing:no hood for heat catching!

  • 2000-2500 rpm

  • holy crap that looks like more than thousands RPM!!

  • That is freaking awesome.
