  • The imli is usually sold in a solid pack at the indian store. How much of the pack is to be used for the imli date chutney?

  • @arunamall

    Hi

if you want to use whole pack, soak and get meat of imli only and rest thraw away. I take 2 big box of date for that pack. And 1 box is abot 1lb of date.

  • Hi Bhavna,

I love your recipes and your uniqueness to the videos.

Have you tried making this recipe:

Blend 5 medium tomatoes with, handful of coriander, 2 cloves garlic and one green chilli. Add salt to taste. It's really wonderful with samosa and also kichri.!

  • Hi Bhavna

I just want to ask u:- It is important to add ginger in tomato chutney?

means the taste will be gud or not without ginger?

    Thanx 4 sharing your recipes!

  • @amicable333

    Hi

Ginger adds flavor to chutney but if you don't want to add, that's perfecly fine. It still taste good. Enjoy!

  • Thank you Bhavna! I wanted to share something.. I put peanuts or roasted Chana dal (daaliya in Gujarati) while making cilantro chutney. This gives good consistency to the chutney. Never tried with sesame seeds. Will try out this time. Keep your recipes coming!

  • @techiedkb

    Hi

I do add roasted chana dal(daaliya) when I makethis chutney specially for Dosa.

    Thanx for sharing

  • @apk1976

    Hi

    Thanx for your interest. Enjoy!

  • Thanks Bhavna for the chutney recipes. Please let me know the shelf life of each if these churneys in refrigerator. Also please tell me how do you freeze them - in ice trays?

    Where can I find date?

  • @techiedkb

Hi dates can be found at most supermarkets these days in the USA. If you want to freeze, just freeze in freezing container, doen't have to be in ice tray. But if you wish then fill ice tray with chutney and cover with plastic wrap or put the whole tray in the plastic bag then when they become ice cube, take out and freeze in ziploc bag or container.

  • @techiedkb So whenever you want, have just one or two cubes, defrost and use. If possible let it defrost at room temprature instead of using micro. About self life of chutneys, cinlantro chutney can stay about a month. Tomato chutney, a week and date and tamarind chutney, about 2 weeks. Enjoy!

  • thank you very much for sharing the recipes for different types of chutenys. i will try. thank you so much.
