Modern raves started in the US in the late 60's, though the earliest mention of them actually using the term rave is the 70's. Who do you think came up with house music? House emerged overall as a genre out of Chicago. The many variations of it varied by city and country. All house came from the US. Look it up. UK claims the rave scene cause it first recieved media attention here, but raves started in the US because of our house music parties...
