High elves are awesome for this class, it's what I used. Because you don't get hit (as much) sneaking, the Altmer weaknesses don't matter so much.

2 you have to have the shrouded gloves and the 15x damage sneak perk,or at least be able to one shot who you are trying to kill

3 you have to only be holding a dagger and nothing in the other hand

Shouldn't Conjuration be in the skills category? The bound weapons are powerful and I think the bound bow has unlimited arrows and they automatically cast soul trap if u get a certain perk. Just my opinion but correct me if I'm wrong.

@UnholyReincarnation arrows arent very nightbladey, and conjuration is loud until u get quiet casting. they are great for an archer or assassin though

@pokemon9984 Ok, I'll explain it for you. The roll(not a barrel roll -.-) is a perk you can get in the Sneak tree. I've played a Thief/Assassin before and personally it made my life 100 times easier. If you hold the run button down w/ weapons out you go pretty fast. And the backstab/throat slit isn't really an action that can be done by doing a certain thing. If you get close enough to the enemy and hit them with a dagger you'll slit their throat. Awesome right?

In my opinion asura whisper is the best shout for this class because you want to know how many people are in the room before casting a spell such as frenzy also throw voice is a good shout for any sneaky character and marked for death is very use full for fighting dragons.

Not only that you get a 25 in illusion to start, that's 1/3 of the way to invisibility.

Altmer work even better than dark elves, your +50 magicka is a big boost early on, and then have Faendal train you in archery all you have left to do is make up your sneak deficit.

Is this class on the weaker side of things? Illusion to me feels VERY situational. I might just not get it properly though. What do you do against a dragon as this class? Backstab? Go archery? Archery and destruction feels like stretching it all far too thin for me.

@Telunu illusion situational? Actual illusion is the least situational route you could go. In specific situations, however, it is rendered useless. Such as vs dragons.

Which you're kind of left with throwing out whatever you can from your kit. Be it destruction spells or arrows.

Course, you could just get 30X backstab sneak attack damage, and deal with dragons that way.

a good shout for assassins in Aura Whisper because who can see people or creatures through walls and bushes.But the best one for assassins is Marked for Death by my opinion.

I would do conjuration instead of destruction. archery owns destruction for a stealth character. and conjuration givesy ou bound bow, as you now know, and an atronach for when you get caught outta stealth and cant get away with invis or fear/ calm. but mostly illusion will work. but conjuration plus illusion is a really strong defensive backbone.

@TheCoolKidsSoAwesome I would go for a sword & shield warrior (you'll be hurting without a shield at higher levels and difficulties) with restoration and enchanting for powerful support, skill buffs and damage. also heavy armor and smithing. alteration for more armor and early spell negation (until deep into block) and it will net you a lot of magic resistance with the right perks. this build has been tested on master up to level 54 by myself. keep even on health & stam

the throw voice shout might be good for this sort of class, i didnt use it that much and when i did i was fighting someone but im sure when your unseen it will work pretty well. great advice i wouldnt use destruction with this sort of class because id want to use daggers the most.

The only viable stones (considering you are not using one to level up faster, since they are not helping you to fight) are Atronach, Lord, Serpent (bosses but I don't like it) and Steed (Your armor weight = 0 with this, meaning you can sneak even with heavy).

@MrSk8tastic1 Dark elves get 10 destruction which is nice, they are a very viable vampire since their natural fire resist counters the vampire's fire resist. Also, the power is a good defensive power, the only flaw is the high elves is better till you can replace it with the one you cast yourself.

I dont understand why you would need destruction because if you get caught with attempting to back stab you can just go invisible or have 5/5 armsman 2/2 duel fury and duel savagery there for your wrecking with one handed. the only way i can see myself using destruction id have light armor (only armor boasting perks) and one handed with fighting stance and savage strike and be a spellsword and a night blade so you have 1 character with 2 fighting styles which is what i prefer but to each his own

Personally, I took out most of the points in Destruction and put them into Conjuration, but left enough in Destruction to get Destruction Dual Casting, then put all of my alteration into archery. Conjuration and Archery allow for better sneaking, actually, because Conjuration lets me use an atronach to distract and confuse when the enemy's too high of a level for Illusion spells, and archery gives more range and attracts less attention than Destruction spells.

I have the strategy guide and it recommended argonian, so i rolled that. Working out great. Hitskin is great for when you need to reg health quickly if youve been caught. Im also using robes which work great if im honest, i might go shrouded though when my magicka is high enough. Make use of the CALM spell until you can buy INVISIBILITY at level 75 illusion from the dark elf in the college.
