I suspect it is due to the "Jane" and Jon Astley thus representing "Tarzan" - man of the jungle...You'd have to know about these older films and the statement:

"Me Tarzan, you Jane."

yah, me too. I was a teenager. This was an awesome song, and this was like the golden days of video. What happened? You'd think that with video technology light years beyond what it was in the mid-80s we'd have improved music videos as well.
