  • this is the sound track that plays to the Gypsy in me... So many great songs by Van Morrison.too bad they just played the one ( that shall not be named) to death.

  • Can anyone identify the guitar player on the black Strat? Jim Armstrong from Belfast, ex Them???????

  • van the man.. can sing about anything...love him

  • This man is not only a GREAT musician but a POET. ;)

  • This man is a living LEGEND.

  • Wonderful video and song

    Thumbs up

  • He's the Man, this is the best sound even on a laptop. Love you Van M....

  • Is that Jools Holland on piano? Where and hen was this band etc?

    Thanks

  • @4444colin hi yes its jools holland and his band recorded for uk tv new years eve 2006 or there abouts

  • Respects to the one and only late Mick Green/ was up with the best and certainly played a major role in many of van's songs/ he was THE BEST!!!!

  • He may be temperamental and lack personality but you have got to make allowances for an absolute genius. He wont really be fully appreciated until he passes on. We can be consoled that he will have left an amazing body of work behind.

  • Fantastic.

  • His jon

  • RIP Mick Green.

  • This is the greatest songwriter/performer of our time love him hate him get him or not his body of work IS and continues to be unbelivably awesome I am thankful To have had him in my life for so long and I wish I could thank him myself.

  • @gh21159 Me too. I love him, and myself much much more so as a direct result of him. Where I would be without Van Morrison"s emotional support, is beyond me. I'm so lucky.

  • Easily the greatest Dutch singer of all time

  • @makyhern

Van Morrison is NOT Dutch .... he is Irish!

  • @Poppedijn1951 It doesn`t matter

  • @makyhern / Dutch!!!from an irish van fan i've just had a heart attack!!!!! IS IRISH!

  • If I were to die while listening to this song, it wouldn't matter which way I was supposed to go, because I would already be in Heaven, yeah that's right daddyo !!!

  • @CaptainWayne1959, Couldn't agree with you more. Today I needed an uplift and happened upon a version of Van's "reminds me of you", haven't left YouTube or his video's since!!! The world is a better place with his lyrics and music to listen to, isn't it??? Bravo Van Morrison!!!

  • sheer magic!

  • For this 52 y/o Bering Sea commercial fisheries captain nothing beats Van the man.

I cant tell you how much joy and stress relief his music generates, He is unlike any other artist that I can think of A real treasure when the music world is full of so mush garbage. I wish he toured more often. How about it Van?

  • Not that Van probably cares, but it's such a shame he's so over looked. If you ask a person at a bar who Van Morrison is they will tell you "Isn't he the guy who sings brown eyed girl?" He's a living legend who sadly won't get his due until after he passes..

Know this Mr. Morrison, there are thousands upon thousands who absolutely love what you do, and thousands more future musicians will stumble upon you when they are ready and you'll become the motivation for a generations to come..

  • @advocatus360 fairplay bro, quality assessment, couldn'r have put it better myself

  • @advocatus360 You have said it just right.....

  • @advocatus360 maybe he is not widely known amongst young people, but he is most certainly revered by the likes of you and me and so many more out there...to me , he is tops in my list....and as you say, hopefuly future musicians stumble upon his magic, the sooner the better......peace!

  • @advocatus360 He's ok, and we know it. No worries about him, he is not overlooked.

  • ABSOLUTLY BRILL TUNE! Is this my fave van tune? I dont know, I love em all. I hope he sings this at Finsbury Park next week

  • One of my favs. Absolutely love Van The Man!

  • The Man stands out for three things......

    1. Personality

    2. Personality

    3. Personality

  • The best.

  • A real head!!

  • fantastic... The first song i fell in love with by Van... And so good a album...

  • one of my fave van tunes.the piano player looks familiar, like hes played with van before ,anyone know his name? same with the guitar lead. GREAT SONG and band ,they derserved to be named.

  • @skydogging It's Jools Holland, the song was filmed on his show Later with......

He used to be in Sqeeze.

  • Really, it is a hard road.

  • Van Blows all others outta the water. He is honest music making at its best. Living in the moment! Kick ass!

  • Interesting to see David Hayes during this period.

  • Van the Man!!!

  • awesome makes a shiver run down your back

  • Der Meister! Danke!

  • van is without a doubt... the man...

  • I first heard this awesome musician singing "Gloria" at a teen hop in the early 60s. almost 50 years later I am still listening and loving this guy. And his bands are always awesome. Thanks Van for being THE MAN!

  • Man, that sax solo gives me the chills each time I hear it =)

  • JEEEEZUS....goosebumps

  • holy shit! i'd stopped searchin for him on YT. all of a sudden i have everything i've ever wanted. What happened? I love that man from Belfast...from a man from Antrim.

  • @Rednwhite77 / ditto from Ballymena!!!!

  • I love this song!

  • It's a hard road indeed.......daddyo.

  • van is the mather fn man....

  • I used to revere VM, thought he was some special kind of rare entity, a transcendent being. But now I realize he was and is a gifted, sincere, precise artist. That's still a decent thing to be, a human being, if you spend your time and energy searching for beauty like he does. I listen to "Astral Week"s or "Into the Mystic" or "And It Stoned Me" and I am dissolved in beauty. Just completely dissolved, oblivious.

  • I love how Van asks for the piano intro one more time. You can tell that it wasn`t rehearsed. Such a Van Morrison thing to do.

  • pure class

  • Great solo from Greeny. R.I.P Mick..One year on.....

  • The Irish equivalent to America's Bob Dylan.

  • SUPER VAN!!!!!!!!

  • @BLUESAUSTRAL I am a Super Fan!!!!!!...

    He is a Great Van:-)

  • Great song daddy O

  • This song was the soundtrack of the movie "Wonder Boys."

    Phenomenal. Thanks for the posting.

  • best version ever/ thank you for sharing

  • That sax soloist sure does a good job. He has big shoes to fill playing in a Van song and he definitely filled them...definitely not busting out of the sides like van does.

  • I just saw him at the Greek in LA. At 65 he is still an incredible vocalist.

  • these are what you call mosos mr cowel you wouldnt know one if they bit you on the arse

  • does these musos mean it or what superb

  • Great music, trying to play the harmonica bits but not doing to well.

Is that Eric Clapton on guitar ?

  • @nickrolfe69 Clapton ain`t that good.

  • please someone tell me who the tenor sax ,infact every musican featured. thank you

  • Seriously this is legendary! Quite possibly the greatest 6 and a half minutes of sound. Scarred for life with this song!!

  • @dazubaman - What he said...

    Legendary.

  • Love this song, reminds me of my dad. But was not impressed that he cancelled a gig and wrecked the only chance that me and dad had of seeing him live. If there is such a thing as a male diva then he is certainly it.

  • @kirst542 what gig was this? Van nearly never cancels gigs. He even plays when ill and has still when performed with the Flu when he should of cancelled. Most gigs get cancelled because of the weather or in recent years when van had a broken rib!

  • Hi there, what concert does this come from? I would really like to gat it on DVd if it's possible...

  • @tytka7 this was on TV. BBC Jools Holland. I don't think it is on DVD.

  • This is real music! Astounding performance!

  • love him :D hes the fucking best

  • "It's a hard road...it's a hard road....Daddy-O"....

    Here's to all the Philosophers.

  • Great God, this is wonderful.....LOVE IT.

  • What an incredbile rendition. That band is beyond words.

Saw Van play live in June of 1995; the "Days Like This" tour. Leo Greene was awesome on those two nights (this performance was very good, but not even close to what I saw). He's quite a showman.

This is a spectacular performance, all around. Great post. Thank you, very much, einetdelacastellana. Magnifico!

  • Yea Van the Man 65 next Tuesday make me feel old. Seen Van live in Sunderland Machester & Glasgow and quality on each occasion.

  • this is a great song by a great artist go van

  • Van The Man, why do we have to wait till he moves on before we really sing him the worldwide praises that hes overdue, this track and Take Me Back really kill me, plus Leo Green burns like a bushfire. dont git better you know...

  • @mcoli2720 just go to any public place, and eventually, the music track will have Van singing, or one of his songs, at least that's the case in the U.S.

  • Luv of My life hehe..Van Morrison...

  • Oh man, oh man.

    Just awesome

  • @tpcass
