i having the same problem..i took 6 hrs to solve this problem,even i tried some methods as shown in this video...finallly i solved by restarting my laptop n changed usb port.its work

i've tried everything!, i mean, soft, hard, my ipod touch 4G just won't go into DFU mode. i'm stuck at apple logo screen (can't turn it off or on, just able to put it on recovery mode) (can't restore it or jailbreak it) ANYTHING!.. i have the apple logo screen, i hold both buttons for 10 seconds (it turns off at sec 6 and turns back on at sec 10) so i don't know what the problem is..

FINALLY, i've been having the same problem with my 32Gb 5.0.1 3rd gen ipod touch, turned out i was pressing the power button too hard!!!! thanks everyone that suggested it!!!

i fixed my problem, i was pressing the power buttom too hard.

press the buttoms softly it worked for me.

ignore that stupid screen , even if it gives usb sound follow [3 second power / 10 second power+home / release power hold home for 30 seconds ]

Send a Email to Apple telling them your Idevice's sleep button is Broken and then they will email you back saying that if you have the warrenty still they will fix it and all that for free then you will be able to jailbrake your ipod.

hey fella, I had the same problem. I found your video. I kept holding power and home until it flashed and cut out (looks the same way it always does when entering dfu mode properly). I just jailbroke with Greenpois0n rc6 and everything is mint. The only thing is, is that I couldn't use GP's timer, as it would time out even though I was still trying to get the ipod into dfu mode. Hold power and home until you see it (and hear it) cut out. Then count to 4 and let go of power. Voila.

well from my experience i learned that it was a physical defect and that my power/hold button was actually out of place. I basically budged it back into place and finally got it to work.

i think the only solution to this is to use a computer that you haven't synced your idevice on yet. i know this works because my friend couldn't put his ipod touch into dfu on his computer, but when i used greenpois0n on my computer his ipod went into dfu. so thats my solution :)

Hey by the way, u will know when it's working when greenpoison respond n says jailbreaking. As soon as that happens, let go of the buttons. Goodluck, u sound very annoyed, trust me I was like that for 2 days of trying. Over a year of jailbreaking ipts n iPhones, this was a first 4 me.

Pls try this coz it worked for me with my daughter's ipt2 mc model. First run greenpois0n but ignore the timing, still count 10 sec both buttons then 10 secs home button only. Everytime gp expires hit try again but don't start with it keep doing ur own count. Also listen to the chimes, usually 3 sec after each chime u let go a button. I know it's confusing but it works, just keep trying and keep ur calm while doing it. I believe that our device are out of dfu timing, if that makes sense. Pls le
