i do tong long and its know to be hard to grab ones arm like upward like in 1:09 , grabbing upward u will see in a real fight is insanely hard , try grabbing down it dosnt put stress on the arm and it also gives a better grip
a rather informative video, however it seems like you need to work on the balance of your stances. at several points it seems like you're not grounded enough, and a good push would send you over. i enjoyed it though
Stealth and theft skills are the most prized abilities to ninja. It is far better to just cut a guy and let him bleed out. Compound fractures do the trick as well... ninja be not kind.
Ok, there's some technique... But also there's some serious mistaques, almost always on a punchs the elbow is exposed, break the elbow joint first (1:08, 1:55), it would cause more damage than hit the solar plexus or a knee with a front kick. You should always incapacitate an agressor, avoid unefective complex movements(2:29). A moving head against a punch(3:01) is not a good idea... Your legs movement (5:02), that's not the way, circular moves are always better because they keep the stability.
@ShinobiMystic by boxing/Muay Thai/Karate doctrine a moving head is best against a punch to avoid a flat of full contact strike. So based on that I thought that was ok.
seriously who punch like that in real life? ninjas are not very good at fighting, they are very good in weapons use ,tricks , evasion and steath. in a hand to hand fight a kung fu master can kick ass a ninja.
btw before u do that make him off balance or distract coz no one will go down without taking any strikes
For spear evasion why dun you move ur back legs also? it will be easier for you to get to his back
5:00 when u are behind him better not to turn or fold him over to another side, an arm bar lock will do you just have to walk forward and he will drop
5:20 dun have to whack so hard just place ur left leg infront and move forward
@lazberia777 at 2:27 you capture their balance by striking vital targets up the arm. I think it is better to move your legs I think I was using evasions from a different system. TKD has no evasions.
Excuse me, but I've heard that Taekwondo was sorta of, a part or piece of the whole ninjutsu puzzle, so does this technically mean I'm also training to be ninja? (Random, and you might not understand, I apologize)
That's lovely - thanks for the response to my request - however, now could you complete the circle by doing the demonstrated techniques with a non-complaint opponent.
That way, we get to see what works when it counts rather than what 'should' work... as recent experience developing my ground-work has forced me to realise... theory, practising theory and practise are very different beasts.
After all, would you get swimming instruction from a guy who's never even got wet?
yes i agree with you. but one of the problems is if you are not complying and the Kata is preformed correctly, there is a very good chance of causing some one a lot of damage. restraint must be used when training with someone you like :)
Kata - hmm... to develop muscle memory, yes I see that... but to rely merely on some automated responses to non-specified attacks.. that could get messy and not for the person attacking.
'sides, people can pad up well and "go for it" with a bit more rapidity and vigour without too much risk of injury... that's how we spa anyway... and everyone involved remains injury free.
Also, if there's a lock or hold involved instead of a strike - then there's always "tapping out" again - to avoid injury.
hmm... the stuff on here looks like very very basic low level karate combinations. i mean maybe this vid is for beginners but i was really expecting evasion of punching and attacking techniques that people actually use rather than the standard seiken oiutsuki (probably misspelled). ill have a look at you're other stuff :)
Dude, you are a badass. I wish I could do half the stuff you do. I am only really good at Tae Kwon Do kicks (Including Advanced), but besides that I can't do to much of the performance. I love watching you as inspiration. Thanks
Keep training and you will understand more, pay careful attention in class and ask tons of questions. Compose yourself and meditate on what it means to be a master. I wish you the best and thank you for your kind words friend.
ok cool, yeah ive found that karate depot has some good prices and great equipment. and also another question, do you believe in your own opinion that pullups/pushups are better for muscular endurance and size or more for just the endurance?
There are too many to choose from just look around or do some research get some books from the library about martial arts and take it slow. Also there are financial and transportation considerations.
well that may be true, boxers are very fast. But if you can keep them at bay at kicking range then they cannot do much right? But they do have good foot work so they could close that gap or dodge and then land a punch, I think all martial arts are equal in their effectiveness, it is up to the practitioner to know when and what techniques to use. But yeah boxing has the best punches.
i need to know wats a good way to counter a punch and strike back instint
and i have big compition with higher age group which meens bigger ppl wats the best way for this and whats the best way to throw someone off balance when they strike u with a punch?
i have a problem with a guy when he next sees me hes gonna fight and i am wanting 2 learn a quick way 2 take down someone older than me who does boxing do u know any techniques i could use on him or wat would be the best shift?
how can you say that? i feel like that kid gonna get beat up. if hes not quick enough to move back hes gonna get knocked out by a simple 1,2. if he tries to move in, hes going to realize that a boxer doens't punch straight like your friend in the vid. im not a boxer, just from experience if you dont have the speed to shift your weight your going to get hit hard, you'll be thinking about timing to much becase your untrained. you want a quick way, kick him the nuts lmao
hi..i live in UN New Jersey United States i was looking forward to joining martial arts in kung-fu or judo but i like nin-jutsu more so if you knoew any school of nin-jutsu here please respond
I am wondering how you make these videos. Do you post them right on this forum, through a webcam, or is there another method? I am asking because I have tried to post videos on YouTube, but they never lasted more than 20 seconds
I have a simple camera with a SD video card. I upload it to my computer, then I edit it with windows movie maker to add music, and overlay the voice. And I put it all together to make a wmv file and upload that.
I am not overly computer savvy, so I must ask, what is an SD card and all the other tecnical jargon? Dumb it down for me. I like and technology, but unfortunately, computers do not fall in any of the categories I like.
SD is a video card for my camera it is a digital camera and that is what the video's are recored too. I think webcam video's just don't turn out that good.
Hello Shinobimystic. I don't know the name you go by. I train in this art too and I would really like to know, if you could do a video on the proper execution of the eight points of kuzushi? I realize that it may seen by some, as a part of judo, but it was part of my training and I would like to refresh my mind and body in the proper execution
OK brother, I will try my best. I never did judo, and only did a striking martial art all my life. But I know a little bit about take-downs and would love to share with you. By the way the names mike friend.
My name is Eric. That is odd. I trained in ninjutsu as well ,but it included weapons, an assortment of strikes, including the hidden one blocks, grappling ,pressure points, gun self defense and the throws typical to what is called judo. But I was told that there are all part of the same science. I am teaching what I have learned, but the kuzushi and breakfalls have always been an obstacle for me.
Yes they are all part of the same science. I do ninjutsu but I am still working on takedowns and I still have to get a good feeling of balance points and such. But I will try to help you out.
Don't know why i thought about it but i figure you have their wrist or a part of their shirt (a part of their shirt would work if they struggle to get their arm back, no?) so they land in a position they can't recover from. From there you can protect yo' nuts.
i'd like to see you make a video displaying Real Ninja techniques like walking silently through snow, not this pre-corriographed drivel, EG chinese heel shift' ? WTF!
But it has deep roots in China. There are even stories about a Chinese version of the ninja, known as the moshuh nanren. And ninjutsu is about far more than stealth. It involves psychology, acting, science, medicine and other aspects of training.
I'm not sure about this, because this is a diffrent style of martial arts than I take, but in 2:16 your leg isn't fully extended. My sensei teaches me to extend fully for a more accurate result. Was this in 2:16 correct?
Your right, I just didn't want to really hurt my training partner. He doesn't have that much training experince. But you are sure as heck right about really extending it to get the full effect.
Yes your right, I mean that when attacked you just slip into the position to appropriately avoid danger. I wish you the best with your training friend.
are you afraid to actualy seek out a real bujinkan instructor and put on a white belt , forget what you think you know , and actualy follow a real lineage ? making stuff up and putting on costumes .....well i am not sure what that constitutes , but there are a few out there that might disagree ; )
I liked it but, it didn't really answer my question from the original video. The fact that you know what is coming makes it easy, as nice as those stances look in a controlled environment, I just can't see more than a couple actually being practical. I am looking forward to that free sparring one you mentioned however.
Pure ninja awesomeness to see these techniques again bro "bow" you are the man keep 'em comin' coz you're great! Sorry I haven't been watching your videos for ages it's just not only am I busy but I didn't know you had so many new ones, I thought you kinda stopped doing them for a while
Great video ShinobiMystic, especially in HD, really great stuff. Great way to stay warm and nothing beats the cold better than to work on a human partner rather than a dummy. Great work, keep it up!!!
even if you're not coming from kung fu your horse stance looks good it could be a lil deeper and more stable but for fighting and shifting fast its actually one of the best i've ever seen
maybe ill shoot a video of complete combat use of the stances of the kung fu i learned (Hung Gar)
keep on walking with your head held high fellow warrior and instructor hope ill have enough time to catch up with your number of videos xD
Well done! This was a great video! I'm glad you redid the evasions and shifts. This with a partner really added to see the application of the movement and counter together. Great stuff 5 stars!
Yes, I wanted to be able to show the movements well. In the future I will show more shifts and evasions because there are a limitless amounts of moves we can do to avoid danger. Thanks friend.
WOw that is an amazing shot, The music was very driving and energetic. I love to see you and your partner woking together. This vid has given me a lot of new concepts to work with! Thank you so much!

you already have shifted the body and landed 2 or 3 hits while the oponent sends off the punch.

I liked it but, it didn't really answer my question from the original video. The fact that you know what is coming makes it easy, as nice as those stances look in a controlled environment, I just can't see more than a couple actually being practical. I am looking forward to that free sparring one you mentioned however.

Yes I will have to do some free sparring. I will in the grass when the spring mud is gone. Thanks for watching.

Great video ShinobiMystic, especially in HD, really great stuff. Great way to stay warm and nothing beats the cold better than to work on a human partner rather than a dummy. Great work, keep it up!!!

well im impressed
even if you're not coming from kung fu your horse stance looks good it could be a lil deeper and more stable but for fighting and shifting fast its actually one of the best i've ever seen
maybe ill shoot a video of complete combat use of the stances of the kung fu i learned (Hung Gar)
keep on walking with your head held high fellow warrior and instructor hope ill have enough time to catch up with your number of videos xD
cheers Cheerok

before i forget the kung fu equivalent of your spear shift is called "bow and arrow" shift meaning to shift into "bow and arrow" stance
and as far as my knowledge goes your chinese heel switch is called the dancing cat (coming from its similarities to the cat stance
just if you didnt know already :D

way cool, thanks for watching friend. These are only a few evasions, there are a ton more. Thanks for the Chinese teminologies.
