Almost every cell phone available now can take good quality videos & 1 of the phones I'm looking at buying next month has a 5 Megapixel Camera. Watch the movie Quantum of Solace, James Bond, in that film, has a Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot Mobile Phone, that's been available since 2008 & that, once again, takes 5.0 Megapixel pictures. but eBay has Watch Video Cameras

Hey, what about a #11 808 camera (from ebay)? They're fairly cheap.

I bought a lower quality (#3 camera) from amazon and tried making relocating the sensor and lens into a pair of sunglasses but failed along the way. There are only 24 wires (kind of small, but can be done) that need to be dealt with.

I did that to one of my old cameras once back in the day, and it worked fine. I had the rest of the camera put back together, to act as a remote and to have the screen and stuff. And made like an awesome chord to it with connections and stuff. And had a sunglass-spycam!

The chip will cope with the soldering heat, you are forgetting that the board might haev multiple layers with connections going to the CMOS chip, not just 4.

Expedite the process of cutting out the CMOS sensor...You need spy glasses.

You don't need a dremel. You just get the smallest drill bit you can find and a hand drill. mount the drill in a vice and move the board with your hand.

you really need to have the circuit board layout because of the secondary processors that that handle the interpetation of the signal, i dont believe the CMOS does it all on its own. i actuallu have a smaller spy cam, or one that hooks up out side sd s door camera you can use that may be easier, remind me to give it to you Mr. edison! :P

Get a soldering iron, and a solder sucker, don't cut it, you can remove the solder really easy:)

Kipkay has a REALLY good tutorial on spy glasses. It's much easier

(albeit more expensive) than what you're doing.

you should use a soldering iron to disassemble the assemble cleanly if you cut the microchip it would not work anymore...

@southernwoman2010 ill agree with that to a point... there are to many little jumpers on the back side of the chip to connect it back to itself so i figured it would be easier to just cut the whole chip out and only worry about the 4 leads... and when i say little jumpers... i mean microscopic!!!

@farcry18th I always make my vlogs between 5 and 12 mins long (at least thats what i shoot for!) I usually only have 2-3 hours to film after work so i try to fit in as much a possible in that time! on saturdays and sundays i will make longer vlogs depending on what i am doing!
