  • Hi

ı buy horn from england. cattle horns are not useful for turkish bowmaking. ı use bone fbetween two horn. best

to sodda:ı dont sell my bows sorry

to jabara: ı use mapple field

  • Hi!

It's so hard to find big enough water buffalo horn in Hungary, but I saw a Hungarian grey cattle horn in your room. Is that good enough for such a "C" shaped bow?

Another question: What do you put to the join of the horns (in the midle of the horn)? There is about 3-4mm space for strain. Thank you!

  • 1 tane satın alabilirmiyiz? can we buy 1? and how much does it cost?

  • Cok güzel video, cok güzel yay! Ellerinize saglik! Almanyadan selamlar!!!

  • im making a recurve bow out of Hickory. I'm about 75 to 80 % done.

These are nice, and the process you used is really interesting.

  • wat kinda wood are u using for this?

  • I have always been fascinated by Turkish Archery. Here in America we shoot like the English, with three fingers and the arrow on the left side for a right hand shooter. Could you post some details of thr thumb ring? Also what kind of velocities do you get? I get aroung 210 feet per second out of my 55 pound recurve. Also do you guys ever hunt big game with these things?

  • hello again; which method you use for gluing horns - tencik or C-clamps? thank you!

  • I usually use tencek rarely c clamp

  • ...and witch kind of wood?

  • acer campestre

  • Thank you so much!

  • Hey!

What do you use as glue?

    Greetings from Hungary

  • hide and issinglas mixture

  • This bow is also assembled by stretching tow ends in a covex shape the otherway around to obtain the strongest shot to go through armours. That is how Ottomans still used this bow until the beginning of 1800's. They were right though ; as the number of arrows launched per sec was still faster than fire arms :)) as fire arms required reloading until a certain period .

  • Great work. Can you teach it?

  • teach to whom?

  • @ymetak67

    Thank you for your reply,

I would like to learn it. Where are you located?

  • Using a pair of measuring calipers to score lines? I'd throw you out of my workshop.

  • I will never come your workshop. Please keep your ideas in your skull next time.

  • I see you claim to be a cardiovascular surgeon. Do you treat your operating instruments and patients the way you do your measuring instruments? I serioulsy hope not. As for keeping my ideas in my skull, I was taught to respect tools, not abuse them. I suggest you learn some of that respect.

  • how long did that bow take?

  • 300 meters for 25 gram arrow

  • detayları merak eden videoyu ekleyen kankaya yad a bana mesaj atsın

  • Hocam ellerinize saglik.

  • great vid!

what did you use for the backing? -

    (the white stuff)

  • sinew is obtained from cows leg tendons.

  • @ymetak67 I have seen people use deer tendons i don't know about cows.

  • In turkish tradition old masters used tendons of castrated bulls . But novadays we dont find animals like these. Thats why we use tendons of cows . No problem.

  • do you make bows for sale, or its just a hobby?

  • today it s a hobby but tomorrow ı dont know? :))

  • These vids are very usefull to me, as i am starting on the journey tom making my own bow. ^_^ Another question: From what animal does the horn comme from? I have horns from buffalo and impala that i picked up while hiking through the game park, but there is not enough "flex" on the horn it is VERY dense nd hard. Thanks

  • Ottoman turks used water buffalo horn. Look at our video about horn working.

  • No offence but the bow u made Looked retarded, but the ones at the end of the video were Pretty cool

  • ok. ı will make a video for you.

  • Great video guys. I always wondered these especially Turkish archery. Thanks a lot

  • Very informative vid, thanks for posting!

A video of the wood shaping would be very welcome ^_^ incidentally what wood do youu use for the bow?

Greetings from Botswana (thats in southern african)

  • Hi to Botswana

I use mapple field. Wood shaping video will be soon.

  • Great video! You make excellent bows, it's nice that there are still people who now the ancient crafts.

  • helal olsun size emeğinize sağlık

  • can you post a video of shaping the wood?

  • of course. but first ı have to record ıt on my next bow

  • Yes we should bend the wood to inner surface. Shaping is same for all bows. Sinews are made from tendons. And all tendons are very strongt material. So ıf ıt has enough lenght you can use.

  • merhaba,

do you have to shape the wood according to a growth ring pattern like wood bows? like longbows?

does any kind of animal sinew work?

  • Great video.Thanx for posting it.

  • Türkiyede manda nufusu hızla azalmasına rağmen boynuz bulunabiliyor.Kısa görünmesine rağmen kıvrık bir boynuzun dış (kapak) kısmı bu boyu verebiliyor.

  • excellant

  • very good~

  • u can write your comments in any language.

  • Merhaba, boynuzlar her kolda tek parça olmak zorunda.
