  • biggest book AD i have ever seen... you sir are pathetic

  • @berbatovinho77 Or maybe you don't know what you're talking about, you're confused, and both the ad and the author are great. Yes, that could be it also.

  • Can anyone debunk The Secret of Oz?

  • Remember the part from Hook where all the lost boys gather around Robin Williams and are all like, "I believe in you Peter." ? That's what I feel like with this guy. I believe in you Tom Woods.

  • Government-run education, government control of the media, or any government manipulation of history, facts, current events, or any other information is the foundation of a totalitarian state. It sickens me how the public school system has become so sacrosanct and it is almost taboo to speak against it, when it is one of the major factors in the erosion of our liberties and the decline of traditional family values.

  • This is why public education should not exist. The government uses key linkage institutions such as the education system as tools with which to control public opinion. What better way is there to control public opinion than to indoctrinate society's youth? Public education is a government monopoly and severly damages parent's authority in educating their children. Moreover, the government must have no authority to either own or regulate schools or the media.

  • The idea that regulation is not needed is insane. It would be like having someone babysit your child and they allow your child to do whatever. And then you leave your child alone by themselves.

  • @Mr1700 What a ridiculous comparison. And how insulting to compare an ignorant child with an educated adult. Sense, you make none.

  • @TWSceptic educated adults do reckless things

  • @Mr1700 And they are responsible for the consequences - unlike children. And if educated adults do reckless or stupid things, what guarantee do we have that the politicians and regulators won't also do reckless or stupid things? Do they, upon election to office, become transfigured into angels or gods, like the Egyptians thought of their Pharaohs? Or are they human beings, just as fallible as the unregulated individuals, with the added benefit of being able to force us to do stupid things?

  • I should know better by now than to be disappointed in the republican picks for their "super congress" but I still am. If the complete ineptitude of congress isn't obvious to everyone after this, it never will be.

  • Please everyone in IOWA and everywhere, consider Ron Paul for President . Check out his philosophy - immediate troop withdrawl - BILLIONS saved. Against illegal immigration - Americans' right first . Proponent of HUMAN RIGHTS . Again the FED which caused the housing bubble and the follow -up crash and widespread recession. Only Dr. Paul speaks out against these issues - don't buy the media hype -listen to this man and I bet you will agree with 90% of what he has to say , Thanks

  • @UBSCARED Sorry, this Keynesian nonsense doesn't mesh with the facts, as usual. Private consumption and investment spending was not nearly high enough to make up for the cuts in government spending. And the timing is way off, too, for the "private spending picking up the slack" explanation to work. There may, after all, be more going on in the economy than just "spending."

  • @UBSCARED No you didn't:

" But what happened when government spending was cut dramatically after World War II? Keynesians overwhelmingly predicted high unemployment (as you are), sluggish or negative growth, etc. Exactly the opposite occurred, as indeed a sensible analysis of the situation should have led them to expect."

I see nothing in your comment refuting that. All I see is nonsequitur numbers manufactured by the same psychopaths that benefit from them.

  • @UBSCARED you got served by Tom Woods in his reply LOL :-)

  • @KenMac - I'd love to see Dr. Woods and/or Peter Schiff at 5, but no wai is Fox going to give a show to an Anarcho, Cap or otherwise. Napolitano is as far as they'll go.

P.S. I'm not an AnarchoCap, myself, but I love these guys and they're a great counter to the Statists who control the narrative. But that's one reason they're unlikely to get a 1 hour show 5 days a week in the Official Press.

  • FOX is going to have a time slot open sometime this year. It sure would be great to watch the Tom Woods Show at 5pm!

  • I sent this book as a gift to my "representatives" in congress, Jo Ann Emerson, Claire Mckaskill and Roy Blunt. I bet they didn't bother reading it.

  • The book seems interesting.

  • @UBSCARED There is so much wrong with this statement it would require a whole new video. But what happened when government spending was cut dramatically after World War II? Keynesians overwhelmingly predicted high unemployment (as you are), sluggish or negative growth, etc. Exactly the opposite occurred, as indeed a sensible analysis of the situation should have led them to expect.

  • "It's this series of myths that has got to be smashed vigorously."

    #winning

  • My own Tea Party group hasn't gotten to Dick Morris, and we probably won't. Morris is a policy wonk. But we have gotten Rollback, and we put it right next to Free to Choose on our reading list.

  • Tom Woods for President ! ! !

  • I really hope Professor Woods gets invited to the Daily Show or Colbert Report.

  • I tried to send this good upload to others, but YT is not cooperating in my endeavor at this time. Very good video, and thanks.

  • Will you be coming out with an audio version of the book? I commute a lot and that would be a great option for me.

  • @dooglio There is indeed an audio version Look under other versions on Amazon's hardcover page for the book.

  • QE-7

  • Everyone in the Tea Party, or who intend to campaign for Ron Paul or other freedom candidates needs to read this book. Please read the first chapter online for free, and if it doesn't hook you, then move along. But if it does ignite a brush fire for freedom in your thinking, then consider buying it and giving it to a loved-one to read once you finish it. Thank you Tom!

  • facebooking this right now...God bless your work.

  • It's so sad to see Mike Huckabee's book "Simple Government" ahead of Rollback in amazon's "Bestsellers in U.S. Politics" section. We need to get it to #1! I'm ordering my copy today. Buy this book!

  • Maybe the US can sell Alaska to china or something.

  • @Visfen why would you want to sell Alaska why not New York or DC or California

  • @silver8964 Well they used to own it. But sure, you can sell something else, in fact selling land might be the only thing that can really save the US from default.

  • Love Tom woods just one thing though: Voodoo is a great form of spirituality and the Austrians need to be more assertive and aggressive in their spread of ideas. It is a battle and when you are right, you have to attack your adversary until he gives up. Repugnants and Democracks are tacticians aiming at achieving power; they are cynics and will not stop at anything.

  • Thank you for your work. I'm not american, but Meltdown helped me a lot. Living in a far more socialist country, i am sure Rollback will be a lot of help too.

  • Holy Crap! When did the unfunded promises go up to 114 trillion! Last I checked it was 60. Citation anyone? Taxeaters are not just eating up the taxes their now eating the taxpayers!

  • @celticultural Check out the sources given at the usdebtclock site.

  • Here's a solution. Raise taxes like we should have in December.

  • @furikuri26 Translation: more violent expropriation of the public. Well, some of us prefer nonviolent solutions. And good luck taxing your way out of a $114 trillion hole.

  • @furikuri26 No. We should lower spending since the top 50% of wage earners (about $70,000 a year and up) already pay 96% of income taxes.

Plus you could raise the income tax to 100% and we'd still be in trouble.

  • Hi from Brazil. I read your recent article on mises.org and the first chapter of your book on the site. SUPERB Material and lots of info. I`m ordering it now and I hope i can make my friends read it too!

  • Tom: I was hoping to buy this as an ebook when I saw the video. Unfortunately there is only a Kindle version and I will not buy ebooks in Kindle format. An epub version would be really great, you could even do this through the Barnes & Noble store which will gain the Nook audience as well as owners of other e-readers. With epubs you could sell the ebook directly on your website and cut out any fees being taken by book stores as well.

  • @Bizurke A Nook version is already for sale. Sending you a PM with the link.

  • Ok I will help.

Hey everyone have you heard of Tom Woods new book, "Rollback".... oh wait, I need to do this in other forums.

  • Thanks Tom. I received my copy yesterday. /John

  • My TV tells me that everything is fine.

  • RON PAUL REVOLUTIONNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • already read the first two chapters online and plan on buying the book soon. I love these VBLOGS Tom, keep them coming!

  • Buying your book today Mr. Woods.

  • *thumbs up*

  • Keep up the great work of making statetards and their pet political philosophers sad in the pants, Tommy. The world will never have too much of people like you.

I think ultimately, there is no escape from the calamaty resulting from the excessive statism, but hey, we should probably let the state run its course and fail, so less people have doubts about its utter inability to solve problems.

  • Tell me about this rollback of which you speak!

oh... you just did. Well, I think i'm going to buy it now... Thanks for the vid... feel free to make more... please.

  • I think Tom Woods should release a box set of some of his books! Perhaps he could get his publisher to create a "Tom Woods Liberty Box Set", which could contain Meltdown, Nullification, Rollback and so on. It would make a great gift to give people, particularly Tea Partiers.

  • mises is the temple, and you are one of the priests. god bless you, and "we the people".

  • Pssshh, there's no debt problem. Now shut up, our Lords are in charge and will do a good job. Just close your eyes and ears, and let them work !

  • Yeah gotta get this book !

  • I'll put that on my wish list Tom. Great idea for a book!

  • Tom, you're shedding some lbs, eh? Nice job!

  • I bought meltdown audio book GREAT i loved it I hope you make this one available on the in audio format.

  • This book is outstanding. I read it and then I re-read it. It's not your average Libertarian ideology book... It's extremely current and LOADED to the brim with facts.

    .

In my favorite part, his explanation of "front loading" and "political engineering" helps the reader understand how useless, bloated projects and bad policies are first sold and then root themselves to stay.

    .

He writes like he speaks. It's very entertaining reading.

    .

It's one of those books that really ARMS the reader...

  • I didn't know that Tom Woods did stand-up. Hilarious! I am willing to make a bet--if he took this on the road, he would reach more of us 'boobs.' It would be the first comedic act to highlight another comedic act that caused a revolution. The Rollback Tour...pass it on!

  • Thanks for all the hard work, Tom!

  • Read the book:-) , and it has so much information to help take back our Republic!Everyone needs to read the book and pass this on!

  • Is it available in Ebook? bought your book nullification ebook... if i find this one ebook ill buy right now...laterz.

  • 4:08-4:14 HE'S ARMING THE TEA-PARTY!! HE'S PASSING OUT GUNS OR AMMUNITION! HE SAID AMMUNITION!! HE'S CALLING FOR SOMETHING; MAYBE WAR AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST... well you know who.. RHETORIC! that's it.. RHETORIC! MEAN MEAN RHETORIC! /scream longtime, RHETORIC!

  • Tom Woods is my homeboy. For reals, dawg. See you in Naples Saturday.

  • The wonderfull Tom woods..:)

  • Newly subscribed!

  • I'll buy your books Tom if I get a job.

  • @TheEbonicslover I'll buy you a copy.

  • @bajoverga what are your conditions and why?

  • Buy, beg or borrow a copy of Tom Woods' book and pay attention to it. It is the best summary of out of control government and it's effect on all of us, that I have ever read. It covers all the major issues of the day and relates them back to first principles. It's written in an engaging and easy to read style - you'll love it!

  • Thanks, Woods. Will promote it at any reasonable opportunity.

  • Agree with 'bernhtp': Would like a video blog PACKED with information and some of the more shocking facts in the book, and less promotion of the book (promote with the substance and some of the radical stuff, not the cover or just by saying that there is something radical).

Read the free chapter and will obtain the rest (although I am not an American)

  • But Tom - they REALLY like spending other people's money!

Can they please continue to spend other people's money?

    PLEASE?!

(Smash those myths Tom - VIGOROUSLY!!!)

  • If you want to get through to conservative types you should try getting an interview on PJTV.

  • I have to read about it before I blog about it.

  • You will not repeal government before the coming financial collapse, however we then must choose if we wish to become something like the USSR ca 1980 or the USA ca 1800. Does Kansas have a senator up for election in 2012?

  • Finished the first chapter last night.

  • Tom: some quick advice. Create a short video that is far lower on the explicit promotion of Rollback, but that summarizes its main thesis with a focus on some of its more titillating/interesting factoids that will get someone to want to read it. We can post that video on Facebook, etc.

  • Next video please have a sweet Tull intro :) I know you want to!

  • "...the parental custodianship of Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell." That was great! The wise overloads indeed.

What the Democratic Congressmen did to Tom DiLorenzo was disgusting.

You're having a wonderful influence on the younger generation. Keep it up!

  • I'll be buying this book soon

  • You should get Ron Paul to give your book a quick plug on TV. lol

  • An excellent book. I love how Tom Woods (and Ron Paul) looks for immediate solutions even if they don't necessarily stem from anarchy or libertarianism, like nullification. Hence, the title Rollback.

  • Love you. More of these video blogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent video!

  • Glad to see you address the military in the book, turning that switch in people's heads is vital to the liberty movement.

  • I look forward to reading it!
