  • why does this guy get instant tea refills

  • @mekanopsis1 Good Tips

  • Sorry Enisten I disagree. One doesnt run a marathon by getting up one day and running 26 miles. Long session (and seeshin) is necessary occasionally, but its the daily (shorter) practice which forms the "muscles" that make long sitting productive.

Also, if you are looking for "calmness" then you are looking for results and sitting with results in mind is a waste of time no matter how long you do it for.

Sit everyday, if can only be 5 minutes then do 5 minutes.

  • @speedyortiz

I disagree, one of my motivations to do multiple meditations a day was because of my mental disturbance and search for peace in the practice. You say that such a practice is not fruitful and I disagree.

I think the devoted practitioner doesn't need a schedual for meditation he will do it when he feels like doing it and in the best case scenario a devotee does it multiple times a day because he enjoys it and devotes himself fully.

  • Wow. It is NOT true that sitting 5 minutes a day everyday is much better than sitting a whole week all at once. Certainly not for the novice... That's like saying if you want to build a house or sth, it's much better to spend a dollar a day everyday than a whole bunch of dollars all at once. There are things (on the degree of calmness of mind, roughly speaking) that a person can just never -- and I mean, never -- attain by only sitting for 5 minutes a day, even if they do this for all their life

  • rubbish
