Mayhem wanted a rematch and Shields fell into Dana white's trap and ended up signing a contract with the UFC for less money than he was making with strikeforce. Therefore Mayhem will never get his rematch unfortunately... So ofcoarse hes pissed hahaha. hes more mad at the situation than at him.

Miller can take some nasty hits, I don't think shields elbows would of finished him.

But miller was also on top a few times in that fight, and he has pounded plenty of people out.

So he could of pounded him out with elbows just the same.

Over all it was a pretty boring fight, and Miller was the only one who went for a submission attempt (and sank it right in), the fight was not finished and jake didn't want any stand up.

Rematch is the only conclusion.

Jake Shields dominated Miller 49-46 four rounds to one. He landed 109 punches to 36 from Miller.

There are no ELBOWS in Strikeforce. Shields had control thru the whole fight, with elbows you can do real damage from 10-14 inches,  keeping control is easy, and this fight would have had a finish.

To do damage with punches you need to posture up 2-3 feet, you end up fighting the control battle as you try to do damage.

A real disadvantage for the dominate fighter.

@1969bearcat i would say that Shields deserved the win by far, he easily won the fight. However, i don't think he deserved the title. He's a good grappler, but doesnt do much with it... How many times did he have Mayhems back and didnt get the choke once? within 15 seconds of Mayhem getting Shields back he sank the choke and SHields was only saved by the bell, he couldnt get out... I'd say all around, Mayhem is a better fighter, especially when you add in stand-up

You think GSP, a guy who hasn't finished a fight in 4 years, can't finish a blind fucking opponent, doesn't know what to do when he uses his incredible wrestling to get somebody to the ground and can't strike with Jake Shields, deserves the title more then Jake Shields? Typical nuthuggery. Jason is incredibly hard to submit and is not a fool on the ground, it's easier said then done to "get a choke" .. It's not an easy thing.

Elbows almost NEVER result in a TKO, but they ALWAYS result in huge cuts which cause premature stoppages. You've got your wish, Strikeforce has them now, but expect more doctor stoppages rather than TKOs.. Also, Jake will beat GSP.

My fight prediction; Jason will control most of the first round, then Jason will connect at the end of round one but won't have the time to finish him. Second round Jason will come out more explosive and looking to end the fight he will connect with a couple good shots sheilds will go down And then I think Jason will finish him by taking his back and quickly slipping on a guilitine choke to get the win by TapouT.
