Nice video, but add me to the list of people who wanted to know how to use an actual (Cuisinart) food processor to chop an onion without ending up with onion purée. I agree with the previous poster who suggested you use "me" in reference to The Food Processor, because I kept waiting for you to break out the actual kitchen appliance.
It's a good video. If you're going to name yourself after a common kitchen tool, it might be good to name the videos in a way that indicates it's your name you're talking about (other than just capitalization). "How to cut an onion with me, The Food Processor" or "The Food Processor presents: How to cut an onion".
the economy being what it is, i've been saving those little end pieces of onion and other veggies too, in a container in the freezer. gonna make stock. can also be used for compost.
The title makes it sound like using a food processor to cut an onion. Otherwise the video is fine. First time I ever needed to dice an onion, I had no one to ask so looked it up on the internet. It was a video just like this that taught me and now I do it daily.
@vdkemp REALLY! shut up!!! does that work!!! for years I wore a radiation suit for onions.. it's good to know there's a better way. THANK YOU ANONYMOUS HERO!
@vdkemp REALLY! shut up!!! does that work!!! for years I wore a radiation suit for onions.. it's good to know there's a better way. THANK YOU ANONYMOUS HERO! no really i mean it. i hate cutting onions!
@kragier ya.. it's an old people trick. what they use to do was rub their eyes onion juice.. do this for about a week. you'll notice the difference and will be able to be tolerant of any onion life throws your way. best of luck.. =)
If I did that I would probably go blind. I don't cut onions enough to need to do that, I'd rather not risk it o3o
There is a much simpler trick. When you cut the onion, leave both halves cut side down, then chop normally (the right way, video shows it here) I did it, any my super sensitive-to-onion eyes didn't have a problem! Cutting the onion breaks cells and such, causing it to release sulfur.
The sulfur goes into your eyes and forms sulfuric acid, and you cry to cleanse your eyeballz. If you leaves the onion side down, the vapors don't come out directly and should make you cry. Even BETTER! (this is my theory :3) If the cutting board is wet at all, the sulfur should combine with THAT water and not your eyes, thus you are completely safe. I always wash my cutting board first, so when I cut it is almost always at least damp.
while I appreciate the idea of an instructional video on how to cut an onion, this one is made to sound like a video for the retards. Why do you have to speak so slowly and leave the camera on the onion (or knife) for 3 seconds, for god's sake? Do you think that we have never seen an onion (or knife) before?
This is keyword spamming and it drives me nuts. I wanted tips on using my food processor. D-Bag
