@IveCenaNuff808 I also love the pack and I also miss Favre when he was with the Pack. Whenever I miss his playing I've got a collection of 10 packer games he QB'd in.I thought at first Thompson was stupid to let him slip away but we quickly found out Aaron Rodgers is AMAZING. The year he's having is no short of incredible! I'm not even second guessing anymore that we will go 16-0 and perhaps 19-0 (including playoffs) I was a tad worried when we played the giants and lions
@IveCenaNuff808 Sorry but ima have to disagree with you. I was born in the 90's and watched Favre played his best against Young, Aikmen. He's not an attention seeking whore, the MEDIA is using him for ratings and views. Then they ride on Aaron's schlong as a benefit. Love Aaron and hope he brings more rings so long as our receivers stay in Lambeau, but I'm not dumb enough to tarnish #4 just because ESPN keeps bringing him up even though he's just at home chillin. Met the guy, loves football.
Seems kind of unfair that the Packers go from Favre to Rodgers. One guys has three league MVP's and a Superbowl ring. The other has a Superbowl MVP and ring.
Why doesn't Jennings get any credit for that? All I seem to hear about was how great Brett Favre was on that play. My god, Jennings got so open on that play he could have made Ryan Leaf look good...well...maybe not him, but definitely could have made someone like Jeff George or Tim Couch look good.
Give the receivers some credit you biased announce team.
@markmansion Hahaha, I agree with Jennings getting some credit. The guy is totally awesome, and dumb NFL has him ranked as lowest reciever on their top 100 players thing. LOL at the comment you made about Ryan Leaf, hilarious.
Should have retired a Packer. His reputation was runined after he left with the mind-changing thing and the Jen Sterger thing. Didn't happen in Green Bay.
@pulpnonfiction13 wow, then your probably no nothing about football. How is he a superbowl MVP? cause he works hard. He's probably the best QB in the NFL right now, mabye even ever.
what incredible heart and tenacity by #89 James Jones... he was not about to give up!!! one of many great passes by Favre and a stellar catch and run on the isolation route by Jones
Favre had MVP's while Rodgers is the only QB in history to have two 4000 yd passing games to start a career, and was just short of 4000 in 2010. As I stated before, their QB ratings for the first three years aren't even close, mainly due to more TD's and less INT's for Rodgers versus Favre. Rodgers simply has worked harder to be as good as he is than Favre ever did. That's why the team was so ready to move on after he retired. Rodgers works with the TEAM, not just for himself.
@toolkien if you look at qb ratings back then, the averages for starting qbs were in the low 80s. marino averaged an 87ish careerwise, quarterbacks rarely threw for 4500 plus. 100 rating seasons were fairly rare. nowadays, almost half of the qbs are throwing 4500 plus, with 100 plus ratings. tons of records are constantly being broken. 40 plus TDs every other year. the league is changing. favre was good in his time, and thats something you cant deny.
@Likeafoxow Favre played NINETEEN YEARS IN A WCO! It's the WCO that created the inflated QB ratings. FAVRE WAS A PART OF THAT INFLATION. SEE? Favre's 86 QB rating is fluffed with the y.a.c. and all the two yard dump passes for touchdowns instead of running it in. You can't possibly lump Favre in with Elway. As for Marino, the whole Miami team was oriented toward the pass, not WCO style, but was staggered toward the pass. The difference is that it was downfield and more risky than the safe WCO.
@Likeafoxow The long and the short of it is the seasons Favre was getting 35ish TD's and 13ish INT's the Packers averaged less than TEN rushed touchdowns. If you move 4-6 T.D'.s per season from Favre over to the running back, and take about 800 yards given to the running back as a handoff instead of the a two yard dump pass (effectively a long handoff) and Favre's 86.0 goes down, probably down to about an 81.0. The fact of the matter is that Favre was a good QB, not a great QB.
@toolkien your conclusion is that he was a good QB which is what i said. i never said he was great in the sense of QB efficiency. i think he is great in other ways, like having tons of spirit and being incredibly consistent (like, yardage wise per season and injury wise)
and i see your point with the WCO. regardless, i feel that the NFL has become a lot more competitive now, and because of that, we see better talent. starr and unitas were greats of their time, but cant be compared to QBs today
@hananamro What on earth is your point? Rodgers DID do something Favre didn't. Rodgers has much better stats in his first three years as a starter than Favre had, something like a 100.3 QB rating to 82.6 or something like that. It took Rodgers three years to get his first SB, it took Favre 5 years. The only SB Favre won he did with a team that was better than the 2010 team. Favre tended to turn the ball over in the post season while Rodgers had ZERO turnovers in the SB.
@hananamro "I keep reading about Rodgers and SB MVP which Favre never achieved
but wasn't Favre like dominated the NFL and was NFL MVP for three consecutive years including the SB year?
amazing how some packers are... Rodgers is like a rebound guy you will always say he he is better than the boyfriend who dumb your as@#$ lol"
Favre is a legend, and with GB for a long time, but he threw a ton of horrible passes that costed us games and seasons. Aaron Rodgers is pin point, amazing decisions.
i remember watching this, its really sad how much favre changed, from beloved to hated, i dont like the guy anymore. i really wish he would of retired as a packer

Ted Thompson did the right move to trade Brett. There had been retirement talk with Brett even back as 2003. The other problem was Brett in his later was acting like a GM like telling Thompson to trade for Randy Moss for an example.
The trade to the Jets for a draft pick actually helped the Packers to trade up and get Clay Mathews III. Clay is a great young player and has the potential to be a be one of the great Linebackers in his era if he stays healthy.
Brett had a very strong arm. I have been a fan of the Packers since 1987. Brett played a big role in putting the Packers back on the map as a playoff team year in and year out.
Brett had a Pro hall of fame of caliber player player in Sterling Sharpe. Sharpe was better than Freeman. Sterling had way better hands than Freeman did. The other problem was Freeman had a very short prime also. Sterling Sharpe was great from 1989 to 1994. That is much longer than Freeman. Freeman was a good though.
@ThenThereWasB whatever man, its not a prayer when the wide receiver clearly beats the corner and the quarterback saw that the receiver beat the corner and threw one hell of a ball... hail mary's are prayers, not a deep ball on a blown coverage... thats just a nice pass
@popimp2007 dude im a packer fan. But those passes are unpredictable, the slightest bit of wind can make it go end over end, sideways.....all directions.
@lois9048 unfortunetely the power was out at the tv station that was supposed to broadcast the game where i live....so i didn't get to see it, just listened to it on the radio.
I never realized how much the announcers praised Favre until he left the Packers(I'm a Packer fan). Watching this video you can really tell, Good lord lol.
im just a flat out brett favre fan i dont really have a team haha i think it was good he went to vikings cuz come on adrian peterson freakin amazing running back and now randy moss they may be starting slow but it will definitly pick up
The only reason favre is still not in a packer uniform today is all because of him a lot of people blame ted thompson but it is all him if he would have made up his mind he would be wearing the colors he should be wearing and that is Green and Gold.
Brett Favre is my entire reason loving the game of football, I was born in 91, been a fan since 92. My mom said I would sit in front of the TV just shouting his name. I am glad to have met my idol once in my lifetime. Best QB ever bar none, and toughest player ever by a long stride that no one will ever come close to. Openly battles and admits to a battle with Vicodin, beats it, and wins a super bowl the next season. Hits 40 and has his best season ever. No one does that except for Brett Favre.
Whoever said the Saints beat Favre is dead wrong. If you had actually watch that game you would know by common sense that the Vikings beat themselves up. Miscommunication and fumbles cost them that game.
denver was supposed to have the best corners in the game with bailey and bly while the packers had the BEST CORNERS WITH woodson and harris, and favre did his thing and lit up THOSE DENVER CORNERS.
@YouJustWait The packers did not trade him to the Jets because he retired. He then came out of retirement to play for the Jets. And then retired only to come back to play for the the Vikings. It was in his release deal that he couldn't go directly to the Vikings. He joined the Vikings because he was pissed that the Managment at the Packers wanted him to decided weather or not to retire because he had been talking about it for 4 years. Finally the Packers wanted to start using Rodgers.
all u guys need to shut the fuck up, you'll never know what its like to go through something like that as a fan who loved Favre on the Packers and still respects him greatly but to see him play on the rival team and beat u twice sucks ass.
@SuperAndy1001 Oh of course he'll probably nag em more rings for sure. I'm just saying Brett can too. However Rodgers benefits from not being a loose cannon like Brett(something we loved and hated about brett) and the team's defense and running game also have finally come together.
Aaron is the best QB currently playing, no doubt. Just don't forget that Favre brought the packers back to being a good team. Aaron is just gonna upgrade it to great 8D
Last year to win 5 more games then his first year. What an amazing year for him and having such an awesome stat year for him too. He and Favre had basically had the same stats.
This was the greatest 23rd bday anybody can have! I was dating a super hot chick and to top it off Jennings catchs the first play touch down! I will always remember this game!!
Favre retired then wanted to play for the Vikings. TT, knowing how bad this would ruin his image and be a bigger challenge for the Packer/Viking games traded him to the Jets. Favre sucked, then retired for sure. Until Childress called him and he unretired AGAIN to play for the Vikings. Ted Thompson tried saving his legacy at Green Bay, and Favre didn't care. Oh well, I just want to see the Packers upset the Vikings in the playoffs. Would be legendary!
@tonygunshow19 get it right, they offered favre a contract to NOT leave the packers, but instead be a second string QB for them. Then, when he decided he wanted to be traded, they would not trade him to a team in their own division, hence why he went to the Jets. There was never an agreement that the Jets would not trade him after that to a team in the Packs div. The packers slit their own throats with this, granted Rogers is doing extremely well this season for being a in comparison "Rookie" Qb
@marcus0069, Your wrong dude, They offed favre a contract to stay retired, not stay with the packers, Rodgers contract was about to end so they wanted to see if he could play before they signed him to a big deal contract. The jets and packers had a deal in the trade with favre that if the jets traded Favre to a NFC north team they would owe the packers 3 first round picks, But since favre retired then joined the vikings, it was out of the jets hands.
his legacy was only added to by the year he had. i like the guy and he's a great QB. i'm glad we had him when we did and will always be appreciative of what he brought to GB - he helped change the culture. in the end, both sides got what they wanted - packers got rodgers; favre got to play with a team who has made moves to put together a championship caliber team. in the end any favre-haters have to remember that ultimately the pack didn't want him and chose to go another direction.
I still Like Brett Farve He still can play Ball. I wish him luck but i hope he gets what coming to him. What a Traitor. I did not mind him play with the Jets but a Big Division Rival like The Vikes.
Packers traded him, get over it. I'm a true Packer Fan. I love Brett Favre. think Favre is a traitor? then you may as well be some stupid ass ignorant fibber.
The Packers DID NOT trade him. You want me to tell you what all happen again.
After the Season Ended after the NFC Championship game. Favre decided to Retire. Then durning the summer of 08 rumors began popping up that Favre will come back. He did he was signed to play for the Jets. After that season ended he retired Again. This time thought it was for good. BUT He said he was done that was early Augest. But a few weeks later he got a call from the Vikes Coach to play. So hes now a Viking
Favre did not go to the vikes right away. When he First Reired i thought he was retired. But something made him re sign again. The Jets Picked him up when the pack did not want him.

Favre wanted to come to Vikings first time he came back... but packers had some contract or something that forbided him to go to the same division right away.
@samusaran11 ummmm....the Packers traded Favre to the Jets when they told Favre he would be a backup, then Favre told the Jets he was retired, so they eliminated his contract and made him a Free Agent, and signed with the Vikings after training camp ended! get ur facts right before u say anything!
@Simer1003 Favre retired then cameback he wanted to go back to the packers but Ted Thompison did not want him because they had a replacement that was Aaron Rodgers. The Jets offered to get Favre so he played for them a season and retired. He came back and the vikes coach called him and made him a offer. He accpeted. Quit being butthurt over losing to the saints...
@samusaran11 quit being "butthurt" or w/e the fuck that means over Favre kicking the Packers ass TWICE and two more times this coming season! LOL @ PACKER FANS!
@Simer1003 Your luck is gonna run out. I doubt Brett is going to return then your team will go back to being complete shit again. Your key running Back lost you alot of games. I bet you wont even beat the lowly Lions this season. You probably beat the Bears because Jay will hand you the ball every time the bears get it. Right Now Arron Rodgers is Top 5 QB in the League and will get better. While Brett will get more crappier.
@samusaran11 i remember watching the draft and they said something about the trade.... and the packers didn't want favre cuz they wanted to move on with the future
@samusaran11 ... Oh, please! Your precious Pack' needed a bad call by the refs to beat Favre's Vikes. Otherwise, it would have been 0-3 for you guys against him.
@emantabrizi Oh please would that bad call made a diffrence. Even if the vikings got that TD Rodgers would of had a TD soon after that. Dont forget your record is 2-5 tied with the Lions man.
@samusaran11 ... Well, let's see, the final score was 28-24...a 4-point difference. The Vikings get that touchdown, and the score is 31-28. So, yes, that bad call DID make a difference. You won the game because of it.
Im a huge huge huge Green Bay fan and Brett Favre fan. Im happy that Favre is having a good year with the Vikings, but at the same time i really hope he breaks a leg or something
I cannot believe that Jennings talks trash about Brett cause of this

This is why despite his Minnesota stint I still love Favre. So many exciting moments, if you're a bitter Packer fan get over it already.

The only reason favre is still not in a packer uniform today is all because of him a lot of people blame ted thompson but it is all him if he would have made up his mind he would be wearing the colors he should be wearing and that is Green and Gold.

Brett Favre on Monday night football....Nuff said!!!
rc72015 1 year ago
Brett Favre is my entire reason loving the game of football, I was born in 91, been a fan since 92. My mom said I would sit in front of the TV just shouting his name. I am glad to have met my idol once in my lifetime. Best QB ever bar none, and toughest player ever by a long stride that no one will ever come close to. Openly battles and admits to a battle with Vicodin, beats it, and wins a super bowl the next season. Hits 40 and has his best season ever. No one does that except for Brett Favre.

man i missed farve in the packers!
vaisx1989 1 year ago
Whoever said the Saints beat Favre is dead wrong. If you had actually watch that game you would know by common sense that the Vikings beat themselves up. Miscommunication and fumbles cost them that game.

I have to say. I think If Denver wins the coin toss they win the game. Whoever won the coin toss would have won the game.

denver was supposed to have the best corners in the game with bailey and bly while the packers had the BEST CORNERS WITH woodson and harris, and favre did his thing and lit up THOSE DENVER CORNERS.

@packisbetter90 i gotta agree with that. the packers will beat him if he comes back next season tho

It's almost bizarre seeing this guy in a Packers uniform now, especially after he engineered his way to the Vikings. Weird.

@ArtisticSpaz yeah i still think rodgers will get them anothor ring
SuperAndy1001 11 months ago
@SuperAndy1001 Oh of course he'll probably nag em more rings for sure. I'm just saying Brett can too. However Rodgers benefits from not being a loose cannon like Brett(something we loved and hated about brett) and the team's defense and running game also have finally come together.
Aaron is the best QB currently playing, no doubt. Just don't forget that Favre brought the packers back to being a good team. Aaron is just gonna upgrade it to great 8D

Would be legendary!
tonygunshow19 2 years ago
@tonygunshow19 get it right, they offered favre a contract to NOT leave the packers, but instead be a second string QB for them. Then, when he decided he wanted to be traded, they would not trade him to a team in their own division, hence why he went to the Jets. There was never an agreement that the Jets would not trade him after that to a team in the Packs div. The packers slit their own throats with this, granted Rogers is doing extremely well this season for being a in comparison "Rookie" Qb
marcus0069 2 years ago
@marcus0069, Your wrong dude, They offed favre a contract to stay retired, not stay with the packers, Rodgers contract was about to end so they wanted to see if he could play before they signed him to a big deal contract. The jets and packers had a deal in the trade with favre that if the jets traded Favre to a NFC north team they would owe the packers 3 first round picks, But since favre retired then joined the vikings, it was out of the jets hands.
PhantomXII 2 years ago
his legacy was only added to by the year he had. i like the guy and he's a great QB. i'm glad we had him when we did and will always be appreciative of what he brought to GB - he helped change the culture. in the end, both sides got what they wanted - packers got rodgers; favre got to play with a team who has made moves to put together a championship caliber team. in the end any favre-haters have to remember that ultimately the pack didn't want him and chose to go another direction.

I still Like Brett Farve He still can play Ball. I wish him luck but i hope he gets what coming to him. What a Traitor. I did not mind him play with the Jets but a Big Division Rival like The Vikes.
Atleast hes not a Chicago Bear thank god.
samusaran11 2 years ago
Packers traded him, get over it. I'm a true Packer Fan. I love Brett Favre. think Favre is a traitor? then you may as well be some stupid ass ignorant fibber.
vaxiusstyle 2 years ago
The Packers DID NOT trade him. You want me to tell you what all happen again.
After the Season Ended after the NFC Championship game. Favre decided to Retire. Then durning the summer of 08 rumors began popping up that Favre will come back. He did he was signed to play for the Jets. After that season ended he retired Again. This time thought it was for good. BUT He said he was done that was early Augest. But a few weeks later he got a call from the Vikes Coach to play. So hes now a Viking
samusaran11 2 years ago
You're dumb. Packers traded him away. They even got some draft picks from the jets. Gtfo, kid.
vaxiusstyle 2 years ago
If you don't know shit, then just stfu. Favre would have signed with the vikes immediately if the packers released him. Why would he go to the jets?
vaxiusstyle 2 years ago 2
Wow I know your slightly Stupid but come on now.
Favre did not go to the vikes right away. When he First Reired i thought he was retired. But something made him re sign again. The Jets Picked him up when the pack did not want him.
samusaran11 2 years ago
The Packers did in fact trade Favre to the Jets, it seems like there is some confusion here.

dumbass.
vaxiusstyle 2 years ago
@samusaran11 ummmm....the Packers traded Favre to the Jets when they told Favre he would be a backup, then Favre told the Jets he was retired, so they eliminated his contract and made him a Free Agent, and signed with the Vikings after training camp ended! get ur facts right before u say anything!
Simer1003 1 year ago
@Simer1003 Favre retired then cameback he wanted to go back to the packers but Ted Thompison did not want him because they had a replacement that was Aaron Rodgers. The Jets offered to get Favre so he played for them a season and retired. He came back and the vikes coach called him and made him a offer. He accpeted. Quit being butthurt over losing to the saints...
samusaran11 1 year ago
@samusaran11 quit being "butthurt" or w/e the fuck that means over Favre kicking the Packers ass TWICE and two more times this coming season! LOL @ PACKER FANS!
Simer1003 1 year ago
@Simer1003 Your luck is gonna run out. I doubt Brett is going to return then your team will go back to being complete shit again. Your key running Back lost you alot of games. I bet you wont even beat the lowly Lions this season. You probably beat the Bears because Jay will hand you the ball every time the bears get it. Right Now Arron Rodgers is Top 5 QB in the League and will get better. While Brett will get more crappier.

@emantabrizi What did i admit.
I admit the vikings sucks. And they are tied with the Lions for Wins and losses.
samusaran11 1 year ago
@samusaran11 ... Oh, please! Your precious Pack' needed a bad call by the refs to beat Favre's Vikes. Otherwise, it would have been 0-3 for you guys against him.
emantabrizi 1 year ago
@emantabrizi Oh please would that bad call made a diffrence. Even if the vikings got that TD Rodgers would of had a TD soon after that. Dont forget your record is 2-5 tied with the Lions man.
samusaran11 1 year ago
@samusaran11 ... Well, let's see, the final score was 28-24...a 4-point difference. The Vikings get that touchdown, and the score is 31-28. So, yes, that bad call DID make a difference. You won the game because of it.
emantabrizi 1 year ago
@emantabrizi viking fans always make me laugh.
