  • I know people are bashing the high price because of the design, but I'm vain. I need a fancy pants looking digital piano if I'm going to buy a digital piano.

  • Could someone tell me what the title music to the 34s? thank you

  • @JohnAci65 Robert Schumann - Des Abends, op.12 no.1

  • @semicroma Ok, thank you very much !

  • sounds just like my yamaha p85

  • whats the name of the baroque piece hes playing??

  • can somebody please tell me the title of the first piece he played? thanks!

  • Yeah, it's kinda expensive, but really not bad. It sells for $7500. Figure a Rhodes is $5000 and has only electric pianos; so for $7500 your getting acoustic and electric pianos and a beautiful conversation starting piece of furniture. Your paying for the convenience of a digital piano and the design. I suggest just getting a real yamaha baby grand if you've got the room for one.

  • The cost?

    how much is it?

    please

  • @javescle

As of today, January 24 2011 Sweetwater sells it for. $7,499.00

  • @MeascEntertainment way to crush ma dream

  • @figure261

Yeah! Lol, I'll have to get one later Lol. I don't have $7 thousand plus for a keyboard or piano. I'll have to go for a Studio Blade from Music Computing. =o)

  • @MeascEntertainment How can you compare that crappy bootleg Neko computer to this?

  • @Inverted314

Victor Wong used to be the CEO of Open Labs. He left that company and started music computing. Seeing that he has Music Computing now, that would make the Open Labs Neko the Grandfather of the Studio Blade from Music Computing.

  • @MeascEntertainment Dang, well you got me there; I definitely didn't know that. Care to elaborate on why he left? It's not so much the computer workstation I don't like, I just think it could be done better. I don't like the smaller screen and the trigger grid thing, it seems like they could have put something more usable in there like a normal pad bank or something; and I don't really like the mic/preamp controls on the back. It does seem like a better value then Neko though.

  • @Inverted314 As you can see the Studio Blade costs thousands less and is very similar. Plus it costs an arm and a leg to have a Neko upgraded to 64 bit Windows.

I use lots of sounds so having 64 banks/buttons is a God send. As well as the StudioBlade itself. The screen is about 5 inches smaller than the Neko. But you can hook 2 additional video screens up to it. That way all 3 run at one time!

At this price, I can afford an additional screen. Plus the screen on it tilts!

  • @javescle 4600 £

  • i like the epiano song

  • I want this piaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaano !

  • simple, stylish, practical and beautifully elegant. what more could you ask for in an instrument?

  • For that price I think that I coud buy a used real grandpiano....

The sounds, heard from this video, are digital. The elecrtic piano, is the same orrible electric piano of the worst yamaga samples.

Maybe the keyboard is very good. The design is pleasant. But I think that the price is way too much high.

  • btw the e-piano sounds of yamaha are always good. Very modern

  • spend your money and get an 88-key keyboard and an piano vsti

  • at 1:15 look at the pedal plate bending as he uses the pedal.

And love how when he is talking it has a light staticy sound then when he starts playing it goes to a sound as if they pre recorded the sound in a studio or via plugging it into a computer, as a result, we cant here the quality of the speakers.

And here in Australia this piano is $18,000

  • @iMacOviasProduction1 I suspect from reading your comment that you've never worked in the recording industry. You want to judge the speakers on a keyboard through a mic - cable - preamp - mixer - recording device - compression to youtube quality - out through your computer speakers? How is that a fair way to judge? It doesn't even make sense.

  • Any piano its good in the Peter Baartmans hands !!!!

  • Still doesn't sound like a real piano; it has that plasticky cheap sound, even though it's horridly expensive. You think they'd use a different sample

  • Yes it will never sound 100% like a genuine acoustic piano but....

    It's design owns.

  • It looks great but there's something about the sound I dislike, but I can't put my finger on it.

  • harika müzik.. dinlerken çok uzaklara götürüyor insanı

  • That is very very nice. But for the money, I think I would go with the Roland V piano. Its just that it has more features and such.

  • I love the design, there are not a lot of modern looking pianos out there, if you have a mid-century modern architectural home, you are not going to put a giant classic piano in it, this will fit the modern surrounding perfectly!

  • The feel of the keys on this type of piano is akin to a real grand. Not THE SAME but there's definitely a much better 'click' feel when you press the keys when compared to, for example, an upright acoustic. I'd recommend it if you have the money to burn and want that grand piano feel (and to a small extent, look) but not enough space for an acoustic grand.

  • somehow the piano sounds like my CLP series but then it's like 6 times the price = =... anyway what's the name of piece he played in harpsichord? thx!

  • is there any transpose function?

  • Strange design! The audience sitting infront of performer, let's say around the table, will never seeing his hands playing ... only rhythmical moving up and down, back and forth a serious face (head). Strange ...

  • Look at the pedals @ 1:14. The whole box moves when he is using it. Is it supposed to do that?

  • I really hate this kind of piano. When you pay it (12000€ in France) you almost only pay the design & the brand. The sounds aren't such great (the "Rhodes" is horrible), the Piano is quite trivial, the Harpsichord too... for 10x less, you have better sounds !

  • FIRST of all ITS DIGITAL so the eproms ARE RECORDED SIGNALS OFF AN ACOUSTIC GRAND get it ? So when you comment on how it dont sound like a grand piano your just assuming stuff you dont know anything about .. if digital had to change its values and voice ...why would people buy 100k pianos for recording studios? Arent they going to record the instrument? and for 12k you wont find A GRAND with half the sound of that yamaha .. it dont feel like a baby grand but the piano sound is perfect

  • Agreed totally. while the use a lot of creativity on the MOTIF and other greats they seem to forget the economy class of musicians. Not that this is cheap ;)

  • I like how the key at 2:40 bounces up and down after it's released like flimsy plastic. "Authentic playing experience" indeed. Yamaha makes great pianos but Jesus, do they go overboard claiming digitals are anything like acoustics.

  • It bounces because it is weighted. Acoustic pianos do that too but you're too ignorant to notice. And don't use the lord's name in vain.

  • Real pianos do this though...have you ever played an acoustic one?

  • Ich habe ein Flügel Besser als dass!!!=)

  • I love the look of this Piano, but my DGX-630 cost like 10x less lol!

I now prefer the new Yamaha Nocturne N100, which is about half the cost of the Modus.

The harpsichord sound was wonderful though! So is the one at 4:30.

  • all these monstrous boxes suck opposed to current software. In fact, they are computers and midi keyboards and PAs in a fashionable enclosure, but with limited capabilities.

  • Well geese, I would hope it has three pedals. I find that Yamaha doesn't always go that extra mile like Roland does. I own a Roland HP-207 and can't believe the difference in attention to detail from the Yamaha Clavinova and Modus etc. I will admit though, the design of the Modus does look pretty friggin' sweet though :P

  • isnt the design a bit un nesscesary? i mean first you open the cover, only to have to open the lid but the cover can not be put over the keys unless the lid is closed.. oh well it looks good though :D

  • what song is that

  • Which one?

  • The first is Schumann's Fantasiestucke Op. 12

  • I have one and it´s GREAT =)

  • Hwo much is the Yamaha Modus?

  • Around 12,000 USD

  • in italy is around 6200 €

  • Incredible design and sound! Ahhhh, dreaming .. dreaming ..........

  • digital pianos vs hammer action keyboard and pc (with gigasampler, linuxSampler or whatever ) is all about aethetics. Many recording/project studios will use the latter, while churches and living rooms will prefer the former. Just my two pennith.

  • incredible sound but the designe is not realy for me

  • my dream piano lol

  • wow this sound exactly like an acoustic piano!

  • i love pianos im grade 8 so is should this piano is brilliant is it light weight?

  • im in 8th grade 2 man and i thought this would be the piano for me...unfortunately its like $7000 haha

  • Pretty COOL~ Firz time see this kinda of piano.

  • Wonderful! But I'm not sure that it makes me love Yamaha pianos any more! I hope the action is better than a Clavinova. In any event, mock-harpsichords shouldn't have the same touch as a piano.

  • oMG i really like this piano T.T i dream about this piano T.T

  • hmmm i own 4 keyboards , including a dgx 525, i say i have played that and other then the weighted keys they are simular, i have been playing for 10 years, all though my videos show me 6 years ago when the first digital grand from yamaha came out. anyways they are equal, but nothing can beat a real grand piano. especially bosendorfer or steinway, but i love yamaha. my teacher has a disklavier and that thing is so terrific.

  • Polyphony (Max.) 64 ?? wtf

  • You can play 64 individual notes at any one time, including sustained

  • for piano its a lot. more than enough

  • Why on earth did he put the Grand Piano 2 sound instead of the GP1 sound??? It gives the wrong idea of the instrument. I mean the H01 has a very good GP sound and the one he's playing is a secondary poor GP sound, which makes it comparable with the DGX or inferior models...

  • Robert shumann, des abends what a lovely piece of music. And he's turned it into his own style as there are missing trills etc. Lovely sounding digital piano, such a gorgeously rich texture

  • It feels and sounds waaaaay better than cheaper models. You guys should realy try it before making smart commnets. I own CLP 270 and I played Modus H01 in a hotel last week. Pure perfection!!!

  • It's hard to tell it's digital....except for the plug coming out and being plugged in the mains...

  • It's practically a P-70 in the shell of some overpriced weird piano...?

I'll stick with the MOTIF range please!!

  • Right! I own a DGX-620 and it sounds the same but yeah, with a big difference in price!!!

  • LooooL!!! cmon man... dgx620 :))

  • Do you know what are the names of the songs that he played ? ^^

  • you can buy a music rest for it, most come with it..... but it will set you back £150, its made of clear glass

  • yamaha is overpriced

may as well buy a real piano once you get over $5,000

  • The keys are awesome!!!

  • well I think I'll go for CLP280 than this one. Its not the style that I want its the sound!

  • It's way much better the 380, belive me! It has the Tri-Amp system, the Pure CF Sampling, as well as the 5-level AWM... I'd rather buy the CLP-380!

  • the one thing that really is missing on this piano is a music rest !

i guess this instrument is not meant for practicing

  • It's meant for showing it off at your Manhattan Fifth Avenue duplex during some soiree lol

  • He made eyes at me at 2:48

    :|

  • man i love tht piano ... i played it at the store .... its awesome i wont one ... i hav the YDP 131 and obv this is miles better and with a bigger price tag

  • Yes, I agree that it is a new and innovative design, but the sound is no better than a CLP280 for intance, and I noticed that the harpsichord sound does not seem to include the 'key off' sample that is found on the high end CLP models. I say save some money and ignore it's fashionable looks...go for a CLP280 or something similar as you still get all of the high end features: real wooden keys, triple stereo sample, polished ebony finish and all for a couple of grand less.

  • me too man! played it at Tom Lee, Vancouver.

    Price tag, $9,000.

    Ill get it one day.

  • it's so not worth it

  • I'm so seconding that!

  • lovely piano & sound ♥

  • What a beautiful piano....yamaha is the best in piano-manufacturing

  • How much does it cost in US $ and where can I get one?

  • it's very expensive...

  • 9,000 plus taxes.

  • yea its real expensive .. i played it and from wot i remember the price tag was in the thousands

  • Believe me...it doesn't worth it. If what you're searching for is design, well spend 9,000 dollars on it if you can. If you want faithful acoustic piano sound... go for a better model. H01 sound is poor when compared to the other models in the Clavinova range.

  • It said that it came out in early 2007. I wonder if it is cheaper now. I have not been able to find one website with a price or any local stores that carry it. Any body have any info on it?

  • i think either yamaha corporation or peter baartmans who composed these songs.

  • the (begin of the) first song is

'Des Abends' from Robert Schumann's op.12

  • Which is that first song??

  • loll, it looks like a coffin!!

  • this is so amazing!!

  • its very xpensive... arround 6500euros

  • Sooo beautiful...

I was told 7500€ by yamaha representatives for Spain :-o

  • this looks like a digital square grand piano. but its not antique! lol
