BTW I am military and my personal record shot was a 1400 meter target in one two round burst from an Browning M2. I meant to use only one shot, but I didn't let go of the butterfly trigger fast enough. I've never shot a rifle with a scope other than the red dot scopes we used once in basic training a long time ago, but I'm an ace with an M16A2 up to 300m.

Okay after reading some of the trolling going back and forth I have a verdict. THIS IS A VIDEO GAME! None of you guys are recon, scouts, or soldiers of any level unless you are actually a soldier. A video game, no matter how realistic it may seem, can NOT teach you anything about being a sniper or a soldier. It is purely entertainment and BFBC2 if very much entertaining. You want to boast about skill on either side, then join the military and learn "real" skill. Otherwise... fake skill=no skill.

But, I think this game can teach you strategies like teamwork and knowing to take cover, flank, move as a squad ect.I've never been to war and don't want to be, but playing this game improved my paintball game. @dirus08 There are things games like this teach you. The biggest thing I've noticed is the ability to make quick decisions. There is so much that is not incorporated into the game makes it impossible to develop realistic strategies in defense and offense. No fear of death, adrenaline, fatigue, dehydration, overheating, and countless other things result in a frantic scattering of run and gun tactics with teamwork elements. Also medical and mechanical support is a lot more difficult than portrayed

@dirus08 There are downsides too. Statistically people who play video games for large amounts of time are less likely to spot I.E.D's which are a bigger killer of US soldiers than small arms fire. The point I wanted to make is this game is not life or death. Nobody is going to lose a best friend because of they lost in the video game, so people need to just have fun with it and not get worked up. Don't like your teammates tactics? Unlike real life, there will always be another game.

I just got done doing some training for it and I have to admit I'm pretty intimidated and hope we get slotted for Kuwait. The money is generally good depending on your dependents/marriage status. Food (from what I hear) is pretty good and supply is dependent on your company's mission. Try talking to some recently returning soldiers because it changes frequently.
