  • Thx for the helpful vid

  • Thank you. Simple, cheap, perfect. No fluff. Mine'll be clean tonight now.

  • Nice one

  • Great info!! My boys use their camelback every day during the summer and I didn't want mold to grow, now I know how to prevent it!!

  • best advice ever

  • Have you seen the new GEIGERRIG hydration packs that won the best new hardgoods product at the 2011 Outdoor Retailer show this year? They turn inside out and go in the top shelf of your dishwasher for cleaning. They also do a lot more than that. Search "How to clean a Geigerrig hydration pack" or "Field Test: Geigerrig Hydration System" on Youtube.

  • Thank you so muck :)

  • What about cleaning the drinking nozzle?

  • I just use a hair dryer for a couple minutes and done.

  • Nice ideas. Thanks for taking the time to make a concise video.

  • Best video I've found!

  • solid advice.

  • geat idea with the fishing line.... thanks.....

  • @Drumlinedog You are welcome! @bizzarrogeorge yw too.

  • Outstanding. Thanks!

  • i was wondering how long can water be in a hydration bladder without being refrigerated

  • @20GATE91 Water doesn't need refrigeration since it doesn't spoil or rot. Potable water, particularly chlorinated water, should be able to be stored a long time since it should have reduced bacteria and algae. To minimize both, keep in a dark place. The US FDA does not specify a shelf life for water. However it can pickup flavors from it's container over time, storing in a cool place could help minimize that.

  • @RJFerret ok thanks alot! and another thing how can i get rid of the plastic taste? i've been trying to get rid of it for sometime

  • @20GATE91 I'm afraid I can't help much as fortunately mine hasn't had a plastic taste. I've read perhaps soaking a few hours with a baking soda solution...might be worth a try. Others say the hose might be the main culprit, in which case maybe replace it with a lined one? Good luck!

  • @20GATE91 Rinse out with white vinegar.

  • how do you disinfect? if u drink sweet drinks from it surely overtime bacteria will grow inside...

  • @mrfazer6 I recommend only using water in it instead of sugary drinks, per the video, "To easily keep everything clean without effort, only fill it with pure water, instead of any mixes."

(On disinfection, city water, as compared to untreated well or bottled water, is chlorinated.)

But putting sugar in it would be asking for trouble! ;-) If you have already done that, then some bleach will help, followed by baking soda/vinegar to rinse out the chlorine taste.

  • @RJFerret cool thanks. yeah i dont mean sugar drink per se. but sport drinks for sure. i can't imagine going biking and drink just water LOL

  • Nice Video. Have you seen the GEIGERRIG hydration bladder that is pressurized, sprays and has the slide top for turning inside out to clean and air out. Amazing. Video is found under search for hydration packs.

  • Thanks! Sadly the product you mentioned is WAY too expensive for my blood, $100ish for the cheapest to $140.

I could just throw mine in the trash, instead of cleaning it, a dozen times over for the same cost and greater convenience! Heh...

  • I bet he even got those tongs on sale! ;)

  • Not the tongs, but I think the bbq grill they are for might have been? ;-)

  • could be the most random video ive ever seen... 5 stars!

  • Heh, "videos by whim"®, thanks!
