sigh.. why spend the money on an amazing sub like this, and then cheap out on the box? crappy little prefab box? why not spend the 240 or so and put it in a real box, tuned where you like it (probably down low around 32 hrtz or so..) and actually have it sounding like its supposed to.. the dbxi's are FANTASTIC subs.. and they need a real box to perform. not to mention a lot of juice.. but the box is where the magic happens. fix it man..
@dijlop earthquake recommend a box around that size an i expect a speaker manufacturing company with around 30 years of experience knows a bit more than you do about box sizes for their subs.
since you obviously dont know much about this field, i'll spell it out further. a subwoofer manufacturer can recommend enclosures based on one thing. their product. however, their recommendations are ONLY good if the sub is in their enclosure, and in a perfect acoustic environment. a car is far from this.
the way i know better is the same way any other box builder does. programs, and experience in different vehicles...
@Catzrule1995 easy enough. my current set up, 4 15"s on 8000 watts rms. box is 16 cubes with 200 square inches of port, tuned to 34. i came to these specifics by researching what others have done with my subs, and different boxes i've built for them that performed the way i wanted them to. i used no program, and i placed second in the WORLD in my class this year.
bcuz that sub should be movin Alote more than that, or atleast cheak your gain and your boost and all that on your amp...it Could be turned up too high or maybe not enough =)
Shitty box, Shitty amp cause the speakers barely moving, WTF!

@tazdevilcustoms so thats the program knowing better than the company. NOT you. Id like to see you do better without your program doing all the work.

not even moving, sell the cap, get an alternator. Alternator = more voltage. More voltage = more power to the amp and sub
