whats with the toilet paper in the back of the truck you gonna take a dump some time soon loser and zip ties ....... REALLY!!!!! wow someones going cheap
@longboardking101 When your hunting in the woods, there is no toilet paper... Go figure. The screws for the cb came in the package so i had to buy the zip ties separately so not "going cheaply"...
Zip tire duck tape to hahahaha.....test the swr sir hahahah whats swr lmao....whats this wire go to pooof ohhhh shit damn where is all that smoke coming from.....hope i didnt fk the radio up..... Qrout...... Dad says son i think you did next time ask for my help dont go off half cocked like you always do hahahahaha
very good video man. i have a truck that looks like identical to yours, same color interior, same color outside, same model/year. its awesome! i got a cb today and was hoping to wire it. thanks for the video!
i have been looking at how to installations& i like yours it is much clearer about the wires than the others i looked at.. & i know this is youtube but you think you kids can curb your language it just isn't nice.. i know no one is supervising you so supervise yourselves .. Texas is really cool and thanks for the video.

@lesliesmanjeff no the sound doesn't come out the mic but there should be an internal speaker on the bottom of the radio but if there isn't there is a plug in the back for an external speaker
hey, I just bought my first CB and I have a question. I know you speak into mic but is that where you listen from also or do you need to hook a speaker up to the cb. I bought it used so there are no directions. thanks for any help
@lesliesmanjeff you cant try an external speaker, but if that doesnt work youll have to buy a new one i think. The sound comes out of a speaker in the bottom of a unit usually.
hey just a few suggestions i dont mean to criticize at all...but you should really shorten that power wire and for the ground you should get a ring terminal for the bolt. the last thing you want is for it to short out. Also you want the in-line fuse to be closer to the power supply than the radio to also prevent a short
dang the way you talk to people. for a boy that lives in texas you sure aint got texas manners boy. ...."if you have any questions...please rate and subscribe..." yea right. like anybody really wants to ask you anythin. you flip when somebody gives you a suggestion. sonnyboy ya needa calm down. btw your antenna mount would be better if it was higher and grounded to the frame. but your prolly gonna holler at me and tell me to suck somethin. mr country boy wannabe
@bahwayne16 your so right man. im a wanna be.... my bad. you obviously know. and if you met me or asked any of my friends, im like the only guy around here that thinks chivalry isnt dead. but you know, im fake
there we go with tha fuse block again! dont run a hot wire to a fuse block go to battery even if u have to buy more wire from radio shack. ground to bare metal meaning grind the metal so its shiny.
if u grounded your bolts on the tool box to frame ur ok, if not just the becasue a tool box is bolted to a truck bed doesnt mean its a good ground. braided wire to frame is best.if u got tons of motor noise thats becasue of the fuse block thing.u will always have some but going to battery will help
@LoneStarOutdoors What Im talking about is an antenna needs a good ground---RF signal is current. No ground and you get crappy performance. The reason why the mounts get SCREWED into a metal panel(supposed to be a body panel that is grounded through attachment to the frame if the truck) and gets ground from the vehicle. With it on the toolbox it isn't getting ground to the frame because of the paint and sealers. You probably hear your windshield wipers and the engine revving in the cb receive.
@JimmyR1rider -continued. Also you probabyl have a lot of white noise in the receive, if you dont your EXTREMELY lucky. All of the interference from electrical devices giving feedback into your receive are because of poor grounding in the antenna.
@LoneStarOutdoors ---> He is saying that because you mounted your whip antenna onto your aluminium tool box. aluminium in general is not a good ground. Steel grounding is the way to go... So if you dont want to mount it directly to the body, or use like a magnetic one on the roof, you will have to ground the wire to the frame from the antenna to work correctly with the aluminium tool box mount.
The word ideal should be forbidden by law to be used in a vid using the fuse box install method. Run your leads to the battery, hook the positive to the battery and the negative to the radiator support. Grind the paint off in that one spot for the ground to be good and cover the ground with dielectric grease. If you sell the truck later on disconnect, wipe off the grease, hit it with a little touch up paint and no one would ever know.
@JimmyR1rider with a cb do you have to buy your own wire to go to the battery and to ground it, and for the antenna? and if you run it to the battery do you always have to shut off the cb? what is dielectrical grease?
@stihlman44 Hey man this is jimmyr1rider- that account is having problems so I had to create another. To the battery is best and to reach that far yes you have to buy your own. Make it 8 gauge to make up for the longer run then solder the leads that come with the cb to the 8 gauge wires and heat shrink. For the antenna use tinned braided coper ground strap. Dielectric grease you can get from any auto parts store, its grease you coat you connections with so the bare metal wont get wet and corrode
@ifishfortarpon Hahaha I've seen much worse installations, but no i did this so nothing was permanent (like running cords through my carpet, or drilling holes in my truck's body). The power being run into the fuse box was pretty easy, and sweat free; so, say what you want big man but it works.
@crazyracer002 This is the easiest way to install it, if you want I'll show you my install of my off road lights and how professionally done they are.
@HunterTango384 Well what you need to do is, take the fuse out, then bend your positive wire over the metal tip on the fuse and then re-apply the fuse in the box where it was. you should have power!
I have a Cobra 18 WX ST ll. Instead of having the positive and negative wires, I have 3 different wires. The red which is the positive, and the black which is the negative and then an orange wire which is for the weather channels and what not. It says to directly connect to a 12v power source but I don't know exactly where I should.
@LoneStarOutdoors i think he is responding to when you said you dont want things to be permenant.....and he is just sayin screws arent permenant.....i agree with that, but the holes are
@PsychopathicLlama oh i completely understand that screws can be taken out hahahaha im not retarted. I just dont think the holes are fixable unless i use some kind of bondo stuff.
Chevy is where its at for sure! I got a 98 silverado with a 6 inch suspension lift. I have the same exact CB but i need a video of how to install your antenna, please. Thanks
Should the power cable go from your CB straight to your battery with the fuse as close to your battery as possible.
If you coil a power cable you will create an electromagnetic field and the cable will get hot.
