just in response to the tkd fan. these are highlights , these fights might have been in their second or third extension. that's a long time to be trading blows with some of the best fighters in the world. and another thing in kyokushin we don't fear contact we love it. all my fellow brothers understand OSU!

Why do all these high kicks land when the same kicks thrown with equal speed at a WTF TKD match don't land? And the guys go down really quickly, especially when tagged by lead-leg kicks. Doesn't Kyokushin teach footwork, distancing, etc? Why are the hands so useless? Are you supposed to allow yourself to get kicked? Maybe these selections are the exceptions.

Your two hands at your dick level, your weak target point, the neck, head remain the best target to be strike with hight kick. If you do that to a Muay Thai or Bokator the original of Muay Thai, you have to be a dreamer, and if keep on jump around and fly kick, at the end of the third round, you become a dead meat.

Karate KOs are special in their own way. That's because, in TKD we have a lot of backing up and care about distance. In Kyokushin Karate it's about staying close to your opponent, punching and kicking him, taking punches head on, and knocking him out. Taekwondo is point sparring. If I get hit with so many punches kicks in TKD, it's gonna boost my opponent's points. Here, in Kyokushin Karate, I have no tension of the sort. It's knockdown rules.

@hbolle00 It depends from the organization you are and your sensei. I wouldn't be sure it comes at kyu ranks at all.. but surely someone might teach it to you before, especially if you ask? Anyway, seems like a kick that comes some time after jodan mawashi/ushiro mawashigeri. It'd be cool though..:)
