Very polite during this interview, a real gentleman.. not only did the God Almighty gifted Rodel with a well crafted voice box but l truly admire his speaking voice as well. He is so humble. Some people comes and leaves this world un-noticed, hardly being remembered, but definitely not Rodel, he is someone who has left a huge impact on the lives of other individuals (including me) who were lucky to share his wonderful songs and music!!!

@aprilsunshin Also for me, he was the handsomest Filipino singer. He was buried close to my parents plot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm the first one in the family to come here in Canada in Oct 1970, then my parents, sisters and brothers. The last one who came to Canada is Rodel, then he went to LA, USA, then went back to the Philippines in 1989. He went back to Toronto, Canada in 1993 to join the Miss Saigon.

Pneumocystis carinii a lung complication from AIDS ang ikinamatay nia but around 10 years or more before his death, he had blood transfusion due to severe anemia.After his death, his family tried to get his medical records where he was treated but was unsuccesful because,accordingly, his records already perished or deleted(?).During those times, HIV testing for pre-transfusion procedure were not available or not done.May this information makes us more comfortable and proud of his memories.

The Japanese song was entitled "Single Again" by Mariya Takeuchi, but as Rodel said the Tagalog lyrics were not the Japanese song's translation, it was his own Tagalog words that he used and this song was dedicated to his Mom.....
