When this show first came on, I thought it was going to get canned within the first season. Almost every scripted TV show that has been remade doesn't make it to a second season.

Great show, I hope they do anything to keep this show going for many years to come.

If the main actors can read lines & walk, keep them starring in the show.

The characters played by the actors are just purely natural.

I started watching the show mainly because of Grace's hotness, and Scott's funnyness :P

then I saw the producer credits, and I was like.... "ok... now this should prove interesting...."

turned out to be great! funny lines, great visuals, lots of action.... I think it's going to run for at least 5 seasons if not more.

I'm liking the new series, and I have vague memories of the classic series; lol my parents keep comparing the new one to the old one though. I'm just read up on Alex O'Loughlin and *just* found out that he's Australian...nevertheless, the entire cast does a great job...maybe next season CBS will lengthen the intro...you just cannot have that song play at only 30 seconds :)

Its not a real biggie but there is one thing that bugs me with the new theme song. In the original the beats in the music synced in with the photographic editing i.e. on a beat the picture would change/zoom. In the new theme the graphics do not sync and seem to be a disconnect.

Somewhere on here, you can hear the version that is over three minutes long. Not even the original show did that.

I am, however, glad they redid this newer version intead of keeping that synthesized weaker version.

Nice, but would have been better if they had kept the engine nacelle shot and remembered to use the fisheye lens and round blackout filter. Ditto Bjoh2: glad the technology of the 70's limited the speed of the orig. buzzclips to something comprehensable. Gen Y has totally missed the boat on this as they race toward "everything NOW".

Fantastic update to the classic theme tune. They've really kept it faithful to the original by Mort Stevens. Hopefully the extended version will be released on CD soon.

I liked this version of the new Five-O WAAAAAAAAAY theme better than that synthesized piece of crap they initally tried to use for the new Five-O theme. And two, this variation of the new Five-O intro also gave credit to Leonard Freeman, the man that made the original Five-O the stuff of legend.

I understand why opening credits are so short these days - to sell commercials, but 30 seconds is just too short for this. After having watched the first 2 weeks, one could *easily* find another 30 seconds by cutting out just a bit of the constant bickering going on between Caan and O'Loughlin. Other commenters are right, this is the ADD version of Hawaii Five-0. Without repeating it on YouTube, I'd simply never see everything as it's too freaking fast and multi-windowed. That's 2010 for ya!

Well done main title sequence with the exception that it moves a bit too fast...slow it down a bit CBS. This revised main title sequence is a hell of a lot better than the initial sequence made for this remake that CBS eventually 'dumped' for this version, which is closer to the original shows intro sequence, especially its music. I agree with MFfan310, I loved the beautiful Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A330-200 banking hard to the left...it's more sleeker-looking than the Boeing 767-300ER.

The only part which really sucks is the little computer graphics windows. Just unpleasant looking.

And while I understand why it couldn't be the same 60 seconds long as the original, I think the re-edit maybe deserved another 10 seconds. That pan into the building needs to be a second or two slower, and a few more beach shots/Hawaiian faces & heads turning (like in the original) would have been nice. Not as many as the original, because it was a bit too long, but a few.

This opening is about the same length as the first version CBS put out for the new show, around 30 seconds. The only thing that would have made this even better was if they made the opening run the same length of time as the theme from the classic show, about a little over a minute.

And I love the nod to Leonard Freeman at the end! He died so young and right in the middle of Hawaii Five-O's original run. It was very sad. To see his name in it's rightful place in these opening credits is very touching.

That theme music is a classic. In the opening of the old show, I always loved the camera zooming in to Jack Lord and he turns around.

@stereokid Plus the fact that the original has more of a punch (and by no means do I mean the Hawaiian soda pop brand name, either, LOL) and lasts for a solid minute, whereas this newer version lasts for a mere 30 secs (half a min than the original).  Still, I've seen a few eps of the latter here, and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat, has much more action.
