@tightsharkyj He probably traded people to be closer to the correct roster at the time he played that game. I do that too, I have manny on the dodgers, I have damon on the tigers. cc on the yankees, cliff lee on the phillies. pavano on the twins. bartlett on the devil rays, burnett on the yankees and etc.
@funkyflights and what do you have the pitch speed on? No matter what level I play on, I play with the pitching speed at 50. it more realistic to how fast a ball really comes in.
I leave the pitch speed alone.... so do you think the pitch speed is to slow normally? I don't think it's a problem... My biggest complaint is how the CPU will hit a ridiculous amount of home runs on MVP level... so all I do is adjust the CPU power down to -15 .... That takes just a little edge off the CPU power on MVP level..... Makes it more realistic... the game play's one helluva sweet game of baseball.... Also I like the original xbox version because there is no lag.
@funkyflights oh hell yeah way to slow, being a former college catcher catching most pitchers throwing low 90's is still faster than when I put it on 50. I also was had the privileged to catch Matt Mantei (hes on the red sox relief pitchers in the 05 NON MOD version) Hes nothing great but he throws hard even after being retired for 2 years.
So to me having the pitch speed at 0 is like batting against a 10 year old kid throwing from 60ft 6in. If you are looking for a challenge..
That's cool man.... I'll give it a try and see how it feels.... No harm in trying... Overall man MVP is SUCH a sweet baseball game.... beats any current games on the market by far.... So MVP level -15 hitting power for CPU power and pitching at + 50 for both cpu and human.... I"ll mess with that setting for a bit....
@funkyflights alright, and there is one more setting you might want to mess with, not the runners spead, but the runner steal delay. because the speed of the pitcher now makes it impossible to steal. i havent perfected which is most accurate. -50 is almost a guarantee steal if you use a speed runner (even to third on a fastball). so maybe try -40 or somewhere around there. just a suggestion

@funkyflights haha alright man, I normally dont try to steal unless its a hit n run, so I never really bother with it that much, I just know that the delay thing at 0 the runners usually wait till the ball is about to be thrown. while around -40 to -50 its closer to a good runner getting a good jump on the pitchers first move.

@funkyflights I normally do all of that too, but right now I am trying to see if I can actually withstand playing every single game, A-MLB which is 588 games. I keep fair trades off, till I get all the right trades to make the teams as close to the real roster it is today, then I turn fair trades on. Sometimes I just do that in roster options before hand but if i forget I do it in dynasty or owner mode.

Yeah that makes sense if you want to update the rosters as much as possible as far as turning off fair trades until you get it updated... I feel ya on that one... And hey man I tried putting the pitching at 50 and it was a little too fast for my taste... seemed like the sliders and changes were just to fast .. I adjusted it down to about 15 and it was more realistic feeling.... 50 was just really fast for my taste especially with the camera perspective ..

Ah ok.... Broadcast view never seems to leave any player out of view in my opinion.... I just LOVE that camera angle and no other baseball game has captured that .... But hey we all have our little likes and dislikes... overall though MVP is a great great baseball game ....

@funkyflights well for football they dont have any competition. when they come back for baseball regardless they are going to have to fight against mlb the show. they could try and buy the mlb license but since the show is made from sony it doesnt matter. Besides I like playing both games. Because one year madden might be better, next 2k might be better. There are always features in one game that you want in the other, and vice versa. and same goes with all sports. 2k did go down in baseball big time because of the license and so did madden. its a shame really

@funkyflights when a company owns a license such as ea does with football and 2k does with baseball that license allows only that 3rd party to create the game with the real mlb rosters. 2k and ea sports are both 3rd parties. a 3rd party is a company that doesnt have a system of its own. sony, sega, nintendo are all known as 1st party groups which they can make any product they want, at any time they want, but only for their specific console. like the show with sony and goldeneye with the N64
@funkyflights also, if a 1st party owns a license no one but that console can make the game. the reason I brought up goldeneye is because microsoft wanted to redo the version on the 360, but didnt come to a full agreement with nintendo. since nintendo owns the rights to the goldeneye game. so therefore the only company as of right now till an agreement is settle. only nintendo can create a new version. and this same concept is used during the mlb license. now imagine if sony bought it out.......
I tried it and thought it was a little to fast .... I messed with it and left it at 20 and will play some more games on that setting and see how it play's.... I use the 1-hitters eye view and I love the view but the pitcher is kinda right on-top of you so I found the 50 level to be to fast.... I'll try 20 for a bit....

I to use the hitters eye, but im used to the speed. actually on 50, when a change up is thrown, its hard to wait back after seein a 95 mph FB. and "I" like that, more realistic lol.

who ever is playing this game sux, and doesnt know shit how to play,around 7:06, had a chance of a double play and threw to first instead of second to at least stop the lead runner. god....YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

hey...can I ask something about controls??....I play this game on PC and I don't know how to throw to the cut-off man....sometimes it informs me that I have to press 8 to throw to the cut-off man but it's not the 8 on num pad.....and i haven't figured it out for quite a long time.....and also when my opponent has a runner on first there is writen : 5-pick.....and I don't know how to press this 5 too.....can anybody help me??

I loved the mvp games. Me and my friends played them for years. But then they stopped makin them. And then i sold my ps2 and bought a ps3 and ps2 games dont work on ps3. =(
