I never thought id hear a Filipino aria like this that measures up with classic European operas such as Lakme, Lammermour, etc. Too bad we don't have a Conching Rosal alive today. I wonder if this song has gone international in the international world of opera. I wish this were sung by celebrity divas such as Bartoli, Dessay, Flemming. If they do, they'd own it!! Mabuhay ang Filipino!!!

This song is a Filipino classic and the singer gave a beautiful interpretation of it. It moved me to tears, believe it or not.

I totally agree with you too Nony....why don't you check out her other renditions of poorly executed songs as well. Canada Pop to Broadway Trio....it is shocking to observe how she could hardly sustain a high note without sneaking a breath in between.

Why the heck does she breathe between "inyong" and "ibigay" and between "ko'y" and "inyong"? That's a big no-no! If she has been properly trained vocally, she shoud know that.

This song is one of my faves from my auntie's record. She gave us a copy back here in Cebu when my late grandmother went to watch her show here. Thank you auntie Lilac for singing and keeping alive these old songs that are dear to every Filipinos heart. ^_^
