  • I've got the LP ; still waiting for the CD box set

  • I actually had this album when it was out. I worked at a record store at the time, and our assistant manager, who was really weird, insisted we all buy this album. Well, mine went to a Goodwill Store many years ago. I miss it like a toothache. The only thing I remember about it, (other than being REALLY annoying), was that the vinyl was multicolored. I guess they had to do something to sell this turd. Oh yeah... I think it was also Rhino Records 1st or 2nd release. What were they thinking ??

  • I go now wash off the cerebral trauma induced by this offense.

  • holy crap idk how i stumbled on this. ive lived in temple city for all 25 years ive been alive and never heard of this.

  • skip to 2:07 if you actualy want to hear them

  • @caboose39134 Thanks

  • uh......i feel like my ears have been raped

  • OK no one posted the studio recording of this yet. at least i can post that. someone already beat me to "whole lotta love"

  • gay

  • 2:06 lol

  • A 2001 sapce odyssey? I was not expecting that...

  • I have been pestering Rhino Records for years requesting more Temple City Kazoo Orchestra releases!

  • These guys appeared on a Dr. Demento show remote from Tower Records in Hollywood in 1979 or 80 and did Kazoostra and Whole Lotta love.

They're GREAT, and if you don't "get it", well, your loss.

  • oh dear god they're crap!

i mean after watching enter kazoo man, seriously how the hell did these guys get on tv?!

  • @ArubaatoChan

Duuuuude, are you some kind of moron? This is from 1979, 30 years before "Enter Kazoo Man." Also, they were a real performing act, not the product of recording software.

  • So? My point is, I watched enter kazoo just befor this and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

    And yes I am a moron :p

  • Poor, out of tune "orchestra".

  • @pafcio0 It's just for fun! Lighten up!

  • Whoa what's with the boom mic being in shot the entire time? yikes...

  • Fantastic! I remember my big brother playing TCKO Whole Lotta Love to me back in the 80's!!

Thanks very much for posting it!

  • Just heard this one and staying alive on the radio. I am officially a fan.

  • haha, the guy on the end at 0.50! lol, he's so cool!

  • CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE

  • 'daviddennard', 'ladysun1969'

Could you or anyone upload some more of their work? In particular, 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Staying Alive'.

I heard them both played on Radio 1 in the UK way back when...bloody hilarious!!

  • Aha..found their cover of 'Whole Lotta Love' posted up by 'whyalla22'. Absolutely demented...brilliant!

  • I wish I could but this is all that we have on video. TCKO

  • daviddennard

Thanks for the info. Re Whole Lotta Love, I'm happy just to have the crazy sound as posted up by 'whyalla22' :D

  • This made my day!!!!

  • I actually own the EP that's got this song on it, plus "Whole Lotta Love" as well as "Stayin' Alive"!!

  • That's my Uncle Richard! (3rd from the left) I'm so proud :-D

  • RIOT!

OK, guys, that is Gary Myrick (Gary Myrick and the Figures: "She Talks in Stereo" - CBS Records)in the middle and the blonde guy is who the bass player for the Figures.

  • Nice contucting work Dad. All of those rehearsals(some in our living room)really paid off. Great to take a walk down memory lane. Love Moe

  • Worth a million dollars. Mike is clueless.

  • Love the video! We just searched Amazon and found that the Temple City Kazoo orchestra is mentioned in the book, "The Seventies: A Tumultuous Decade Reconsidered," published by Rolling Stone. Apparently, the definitive guide to the 70's could not have been written without including the Temple City Kazoo Orchestra! Chaz, we think you are hot!

    -Bonnie and Eric

  • They also did a medley of classical tunes called "Kazooed On Klassics" on the cornucopia of crap that is "The Worlds Worst Records Volume 1" released on Rhino Records in 1981

  • Ooh encore--- reunion time :) joyce schwarz

  • Yeah, like Spinal Tap.

  • I'm the "spokesperson". Rhino Records' founders, Richard Foos and Harold Bronson, created the EP of cover versions of famous songs, performed on kazoo. "Some Kazoos" got airplay (KROQ, Dr. Demento, college radio) and sold over 20,000 copies. The follow up was "The Kazoos Brothers." We later formed an actual band, played local clubs in L.A. (The Ice House, etc.), and also appeared on "Dinah". We were not from Temple City, nor did we go to high school together. Yes, I lied on national television.

  • As a Class of 1979 graduate of Temple City High, and an avid kazoo artist, I find this hilarious...

  • @workfairy I would be willing to bet I know you since I was in your graduating class at TCHS. :-D
