What Glee has to do is reach to a mass of audience who likes Pop, Rock, Musicals AND idols. And I believe, to a certain extent, they id a pretty good job at that.

Musicals reach out to audiences that understands and appreciates classical vocal music.

As for Lea Michele copying her, Lea Michelle is a broadway performer in her own right and it was Les Miserables that made her, she started at 8 years old playing the role of cosette working her way up to establish herself as one of the best Eponines' to grace the Les Mis stage!

In 15 or 20 years you can come back and compare them to her. If that is, they can carry on that long, and at this level.

There are a lot of aspects to becoming a famous musician. There are also a lot of ways to define "fame". People like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber simply took a different route with their careers, and they are famous for different things. You can compare them to Lea Salonga as being famous people, but as far as for their types of talents, they're just too different.
