Lizard's Desire was in such great form for this race and his win in the Singapore Airlines International Cup right after this race. A real shame that the Mike De Kock yard lost this horse to laminitis. He ran 3 storming races back to back to back in the Dubai World Cup, the Audemars Piguet Q.E.II Cup in Hong Kong, and the SAIC.
This was really a great finish between Viva Pataca and Lizard's Desire. Lizard's Desire really burst onto the world scene in Dubai during the 2010 carnival. He won 2 or 3 races early at Meydan, than ran a stormer to just barely get nosed out by Gloria De Campeao in the DWC. He carried that Dubai form to Hong Kong and Singapore. A real shame we lost him to laminatis. Like one of De Kock's horses from the 2011 carnival, either Bold Silvano or Musir, will show up in Hong Kong in 2011. IMO.
The "old man of Hong Kong". I love Viva Pataca. Now 8 years old, and still races with the ability and enthusiasm of a 4yr old. He still races very regularly and almost always rates very well in his races.
It wasn't that great but i'm gonna like it so you have 100% likes :)
