He's got an interesting rhythm style, what with tremolo picking entire chords and sliding them around all over the neck so quickly. it sounds quite chaotic in a way that lends itself well to black metal. I personally don't care for it, but kudos to him anyway for being original.

Yes, a lot of what he does are not power chords. He does plenty of dissonant chords, however. That's a highlight in the music he writes, in my honest opinion. No black metal guitarist does them quite like he does.
