All you do is put coloured plastic over the LED lights and underneath the keyboard to change the colour.

you have to remove the stock LED and replace with the RED LEDs

you have to remove all the white LEDs in your phone to replace it with RED LEDs.

where do i get red leds? or any color, really? all ive heard you can do is color over them with sharpie, i didnt know you could buy leds.
