Neil Gaiman's stuff rocks hard, brother. Novels and stories about how deities and archetypes affect our lives. He started doing graphic novels (comics for adults) and since has done novels.
I had to listen a few times more. Hey, i like school. Do we cherish our eccentrics because we feel better about our own degree of normalcy? Love it in others, fear it in ourselves?
Dancing to different drummers is OK, but listening to the clarinet player, not so much.
Dear Brother GRosenberg Thank You for the contributions with which You bring to the round table of existence, much can be gathered from this BE-ings life. =) OM SHANTI in the MysterG "city of roses" =)
Much Love, Peace, and Blessings to you and yours =)
these man of la mancha guys inspire us in some ways, as deluded as they seem they help people stretch beyond their usual limitations. Its cool that he was able to draw so many other people into his realm.
I agree with you pat tho I would say that we are ALL men (and woman of course) of La Mancha. In physical form there is only so much of reality that we can hold (the blind men & the elephant) -- More than half of the people I know would think the other half at least partially deranged (and vice versa). But yes, we can learn from those who bend less to consensual reality than others....
when I was a wee sprout I had an LP of a piano duo called Ferrente and Teicher playing BIG songs on two magnificent pianos. The Impossible Dream was my favourite. somewhere along the way i had learned the words. My poor family would then have to endure me singing it in full voice with the "hi fi" cranked up to at least 11..well, not quite but hey, I really identified with the lyrics and felt someone had got into my kid heart and had read my soul. How romantic and sad eh? I was a weird kid.
I am so loving this one; I don't even know what to do with myself!
What the fuck am I gonna do now, huh?
I'm hooked to this Emperor Norton now.

hmmm, but what if everyone is dancing to the drummers but the piece calls for clarinet music?
By the standards of the time Galileo was a 'clarinet listener'
