Lebanon used to be a part of greater Syria. Syria has always been predominantly Muslim. The Sykes-Picot Treaty carved out the Christian enclave for the French. This lady needs to get her historical context correct. She says nothing about Israel being a proxy for the USSR, she makes no reference to the USSR using religion as a weapon to pit the Arab world against the Israelis (a sizable portion of which happen to be Soviet emigrants).
