PLEASE NOTE: it took me 3 days of phone calls to realize that this image stabilization ALSO CUTS OFF SOME OF THE CLIP !!!!
Look at the dangling feeder at the bottom of the screen. It's cut off AFTER this process.
I was shooting in widescreen, and people were getting cut off at the sides.
THIS WAS A BIG DEAL! If you are shooting on tripod, all well and good, you won't need it, but I would not want to be shooting handheld, and have my video cut off at the ends.
@queenpatcine Okay bitch, there is no stabilization without cutting from the sides, cause it has to move the clip a little to the side when you move, too bad you were dumb that you had to call people. And why are you complaining there is no other way.
@queenpatcine Look dude I'm sorry, but let's face it was 4 months ago and I don't know if I was pissed of that day or something else happened. But normally I wouldn't write something like that.
@simplysamxo no but there is garage band. I believe you can make mixes on there. like goes to one song and 2 minutes into the song you switch to another one. plus. there's always itunes.
Yeah. It degrades it a little. A lot depends on what you're prepared to put up with. Personally, I'm building a stabilization unit using designs found on the web - some are very cheap, others not so. All work better than software!
good but could be better. you'll notice the cameraman intends to film a relatively small center area, yet due to jiggling films well above and well below. why not generate a unified image from ALL that he films, digitally tack the area above and below to the center, then crop that virtual space, find the center point and use that it as a reference to counteract the jiggle. the extreme center of the video would be realtime, the extreme outer edges of video would be reconstituted. might work.
Is it me or iMovie cut out some of the picture? specifically the flower....Also you can't see the whole house anymore. If you just a viewer you wouldn't notice, but as the person who originally used the cam...you can't be but a little miffed that the software doesn't understand your intentions in the shot. Like getting the whole house and a little bit of the surroundings for context of the scale and where the bird is.
@LePePeLePub ofcourse, thats how they stabalize it. they focus just the center so they cut out any other parts. like thats how they cut out the edges and tops. get it? its hard to explain. basically they put a box around the video and so the video doesn't move much
how do you fix the black borders?

Uh yeah it cut part of the picture. How else do you think it would stabilize it? Magic?! lol

Video stabilisation sounds great but what the clip doesn't tell you is that it can only deal with a relatively minor amount of shake.
So for example if you are walking along whilst filming, the chances are your video will be far too shaky for stabilisation to work.
