LasiodoraCristatus , the molt is the old exo-skeleton of the spider. When spiders get biger, They will eighter hang upside down on a branch or make a silken mat on the ground and then lay on their back on that mat and then they will ''pull out'' of their current skin because it's getting too small. The new skin is already partialy made inside. when the old skin is pulled out, the spider will rest and make her new skin dry out and become as hard as the old one.
