  • They should pass a law that says that the Windows logo cannot be on any keyboard where the flag key is.

  • ok sorry to say like this

  • i think she is lady or look like lady

  • @eaglekhan101 Sorry but I'm male. :P

  • lady you r tooo expert

  • @eaglekhan101 which lady? :)

  • Easier just to paste the Ubuntu sticker right over the Windows sticker.

  • In these days I'm drawing different penguin stickers in order to cover diffent kind of keyboards (and various kind of greys). I'll try to "fullfil" an entire sheet of paper with as many stickers as possible and then print it on adhesive paper. Do you have any suggestions on the design? Do you know of any model already available? When it's finally well done I'll share it of course. ;)

  • Hehe the Ubuntu stickers available in Malaysia are slightly different, but they are all cool nonetheless. I stickied my HP lappy with them :D No windows on this baby hehe

  • that's why I bought a Macbook Pro (: No stupid adhesives nor stupid Windows/ubuntu on it ;)

  • @SergiBiatchx but you got OS X on it. I'm sorry for you!

  • @thelazza Os x is very good. Really! It's better than Ubuntu & windows :) But that's my opinion.

  • @SergiBiatchx I've tried it. I believe anyone should choose to remain on proprietary only after having tried freedom. Looks like you tried so you made an informed choice: good. ;)

  • ubuntu suck's

  • Windows still has its key in your keyboard - the one linux calls Super.

  • @o770 that makes sense... It's useful when you use Compiz. XD Finally the Super key has a meaning. :) Anyway you can always add a sticker to it... or use some acid. :P

  • @thelazza a dont knol for you but my hp probook 4515s is now having the windows logo on the start menu thing now! :D and how did i did it?! with a ubuntu sticker :)

  • @o770 ITS OK LOL THE PRODUCE A LITTLE UBUNTU STICKER THAT GOES RIGHT OVER THE WINDOWS LOGO =D

  • ;i think you an use acetone to remove that kind of adhesive :)

  • @wilfeatscheese yes but I was worried about damaging my laptop.

  • is that a fujisu siemens amilo xa2528 ?

  • @turbotonic27 Dell XPS M1530. :)

  • nice

  • Oh yeah and Scraper

  • Dude use Paint Thinner and wear Safety Gloves.

Although to safely remove the sticker, you need a Heat Gun and Paint Thinner.

In order to use a Heat Gun, you would need to remove the Plastic part that surrounds your LapTop to avoid damaging the system.

  • Where i can find windows stiker? i want windows 7 stiker!

  • If u use peanut butter, it works awesome. no joke, i did it on my laptop...no sticky

  • Ima order the sticker too =P My netbook needs some Ubuntufying.

  • cool i had a nasty glue mark for ever and i never knew that you could just use some tap thanks!

  • @lewisvz you are welcome.

  • you could use an eraser...

  • You know, you can return your copy of windows for a refund if you don't actually use it.

  • Where do you live? In Italy it's *theorically* possible, but I'm working with a lawyer because at Dell they are trying everything possible to deny my legit request.

  • Unfortunately, I live in the United States. I wasn't aware of such an issue, hopefully, Dell will end up refunding you.

  • Thanks. :)

  • @thelazza yes I also live in Italy, I asked several times to different operators. You can refuse the windows license, but you have to give back the whole computer and have the full price refunded......at least, this seems to be written in the Dell license.

It's stupid, considered that Dell sells already some machines with linux.

  • @Shaikailash

    andrealazzarotto . com/tag/rimborso/

  • @Arkblu, are you sure?

I can't even get a copy of the original CD without paying a 100 for it.....

  • If your computer didn't ship with the install CD, you may be out of luck. Though, this is a legal issue, and I'm not a lawyer.

  • hah

  • That's a Dell XPS your using, right? :D

  • Yes, it is,

  • @thelazza

I got same one, but the stickers are on it for over a year, and they are really though, can't even move anything. Any tips on how to do it?

  • Urgh. :-| Looks like a bad thing. have you tried to rip it a bit with the edge of the scissors?

  • I had to use Goo-b-Gone to get mine and all the residue off.

  • 5 stars =D

  • God, what's with the music?

  • I luckily managed to remove mine cleanly by hand in 20 seconds while this video was playing.

I am very lucky that the dv6 A.) has a glossy finish and B.) it is only a month old.

I guess if you're thinking of doing this do it asap so the glue doesn't make it self too at home.

  • yeah men When I bougth my laptop I do the same thing

  • try a knife it is easy

  • Dont you still have a Windows logo on the keyboard?

  • I'm going to think about that. I need to find some acid for doing things well.

  • If you are in America, a company called "System76" (google them), will send you some free stickers. Some of them are like the ones you''ve got, except they say "Powered by Ubuntu" not just "Ubuntu", and they also send you a little circular sticker to go over the Windows logo on the super key.

  • lol

  • they have stickers that replace the windows logo with an ubuntu logo

  • cool............ nice job

  • i used vegetable oil to get that glue stuff out

  • That's awesome. Next time just get a Dell with it pre-installed. Lulz.

  • Come here in Italy and try to get one! ;-) If you're able to do that, my compliments. :-D

  • Grandissimo! :D

Io ho avuto la fortuna di comprare un pc case free-dos...così non ho neanche fatto la fatica di levare lo sticker di windows XD

  • Fortunato! :-P

  • WD40 is great for removing sticker glue residue.

  • Well done!

  • oh and where did you get the stickers?

  • Youtube blocks urls... -.- Well, let's try anyway.

    unixstickers (d.o.t) com

  • just do unixstickers . com

    instead. Thanks.

  • Oh... I thought I tried that. Well, thank you! :-)

  • :D

    You too!

  • Those damn stickers sure do put up a fight. Fucking microsoft.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and the Windows Vista sticker seems to be strongly stuck to the palm rest. Was it necessary to heat the sticker with a hairdryer to have it peeled, or was it enough with the scissors? Also, where did you get the Ubuntu sticker?

  • No, it wasn't necessary to warm it. I suggest you to look at the previous comment for the other information. ;-)

  • OK, thanks

  • why didn't you just use a magic eraser, instead of using tape, and spray? magic erasers will get that adhesive off without using any chemicals or liquids.

  • Well, I didn't have one at home. :-P

  • Cent OS FTW

  • should use lighter fluid to get that pain in the ass adhesive off. :P

  • lol. Well, some tape was enough. :-)

  • Well getting rid of windows on your computer was a step in the right direction. I suppose you got your laptop with windows on them because of the sticker...I for one got a laptop with out windows!

  • In Italy you can't buy a Dell without Windows. This is why my lawyer is working... Have a look to the "Windows refund cause" on Facebook. ;-)

  • UBUNTU SUCKS

    WORST OS EVER

  • Your arguments are compelling.

  • wtf does compelling mean

    and ubuntu does suck bad

  • You seriously don't know what compelling means? Either your first language isn't English, or you're a moron.

  • It must be the second one. :-)

  • LMFAO

no, my son, vista's far worse than ubuntu.

    THE COMPUTER GOD HAS SPOKEN.

  • oh yeah :D that's awesome !!

where did u get the sticker from ?

  • Search for "unix stickers" on Google. ;-)
