In these days I'm drawing different penguin stickers in order to cover diffent kind of keyboards (and various kind of greys). I'll try to "fullfil" an entire sheet of paper with as many stickers as possible and then print it on adhesive paper. Do you have any suggestions on the design? Do you know of any model already available? When it's finally well done I'll share it of course. ;)
Hehe the Ubuntu stickers available in Malaysia are slightly different, but they are all cool nonetheless. I stickied my HP lappy with them :D No windows on this baby hehe
@SergiBiatchx I've tried it. I believe anyone should choose to remain on proprietary only after having tried freedom. Looks like you tried so you made an informed choice: good. ;)
@o770 that makes sense... It's useful when you use Compiz. XD Finally the Super key has a meaning. :) Anyway you can always add a sticker to it... or use some acid. :P
@thelazza a dont knol for you but my hp probook 4515s is now having the windows logo on the start menu thing now! :D and how did i did it?! with a ubuntu sticker :)
Where do you live? In Italy it's *theorically* possible, but I'm working with a lawyer because at Dell they are trying everything possible to deny my legit request.
@thelazza yes I also live in Italy, I asked several times to different operators. You can refuse the windows license, but you have to give back the whole computer and have the full price refunded......at least, this seems to be written in the Dell license.
It's stupid, considered that Dell sells already some machines with linux.
If you are in America, a company called "System76" (google them), will send you some free stickers. Some of them are like the ones you''ve got, except they say "Powered by Ubuntu" not just "Ubuntu", and they also send you a little circular sticker to go over the Windows logo on the super key.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and the Windows Vista sticker seems to be strongly stuck to the palm rest. Was it necessary to heat the sticker with a hairdryer to have it peeled, or was it enough with the scissors? Also, where did you get the Ubuntu sticker?
why didn't you just use a magic eraser, instead of using tape, and spray? magic erasers will get that adhesive off without using any chemicals or liquids.
Well getting rid of windows on your computer was a step in the right direction. I suppose you got your laptop with windows on them because of the sticker...I for one got a laptop with out windows!
They should pass a law that says that the Windows logo cannot be on any keyboard where the flag key is.

Dude use Paint Thinner and wear Safety Gloves.
Although to safely remove the sticker, you need a Heat Gun and Paint Thinner.
In order to use a Heat Gun, you would need to remove the Plastic part that surrounds your LapTop to avoid damaging the system.

I am very lucky that the dv6 A.) has a glossy finish and B.) it is only a month old.
I guess if you're thinking of doing this do it asap so the glue doesn't make it self too at home.
