The previous design of the Asian & Philippine market Toyota Vios although not sharing the same interior and exterior designs were based on the US including Guam & Canadian market Toyota ECHO. The previous generation of both of these cars share the same chassis/platforms, engines, majority of parts and other mechanical components. I TOO PREFER THE OLD VIOS. I think the old vios looks WAY WAY better than the new vios design. The old vios has this sleek, clean cut, elegant and refined look to it. The new version, featured on this commercial, is like the cheap rip-off of the mazda 3 design. Toyota went overboard with design that it just comes off as having a very obscure look. Its sporty front end & grill (which looks like a grasshoppers head) doesnt complement its round-of-the-mill sedan body.
Sleepless Adrian, you are right. The Malaysian version really sucks. I watched the Thai "Time After Time" version months before I saw the Malaysian version with the sucky music. Gimme the Thai Ad anytime...
We have the similar ad in Malaysia to introduce the new VIOS in our country (a late launch compared to TH) , but the song is different (some crappy whistling song,makes it worse, IMO) and they took out the teacher greeting "Sawasdeeka" and Buddhist monk (cause we are a Muslim country) out from the video.
