no, i dont have espn :( but judging from this clip, most of his fg's were drives to the basket and the box score reflects that too as he made over 50%. last game he shot 9 of 12 then from that point on he shot 1 of 10 - mostly long distance jumpers. just seems like he settles for the j too much when he has so much ability to get to the hoop. but yea he has been attacking as of late with some highlight dunks to support that. its a good time to be a fan
yah, this year (2008) you can tell he's made a concious effort to start driving to the rim more often. magical things happen when he does (even though he has a great jumpshot). he understands what he needs to do to win though. (it's also a bit easier to drive to the lane when yao isn't down there with 4 defenders around him. the small line-up offers more room for those attacks)
espn doesn't really cover many of their games anyway. not unless they're playing against a "top tier" team.
and don't take my comment below as me dissing yao. i think yao is one of the best to play the game. was just refering to how the game changes drastically for tracy when yao is on or off the court.
espn is all we get in NZ sadly.. no i agree, the team is alot different without yao, defensively they havnt faltered and offensively they are even quicker now. im impressed with how they have been able to consistently maintain a high level of energy on both end of the floor. i cant wait for the next game :)
haha when i woke up in the morning i turn on the tv to see the final result, i was really nervous man that´s game was just so difficult!!
