  • Great video, thanks for this upload.

  • Hi there, I'm from Brazil so sorry about my English.

I saw your explanation on how to zoom in and zoom out, but for some reason on my keyboard does not work when I press the key command plus the key arrow. Is there any confuguration to be made in Logic to unlock this shortcut? Thank you.

  • Nice video. Check out my PAKI fail music videos composed in Logic. I am very talented so you might learn some. :)

  • thanks man i just got logic and im bewildered. this actually helped lots

  • which is better logic or FL?

  • @Red21October fl for beat making pro tools or the others for vocals

  • TOP COMMENT----- This guy thinks he knows everything but he doesnt

  • hey just wanted to say, I have been struggling for some time- Im horrible with software based music production but its soo much cleaner than my Fantom workstation products- hoping you could answer a couple questions for me may covering; loading entire songs and using the sample editor effectively- I have a sinatra song i want to chop into manageable chunks and assign to keys but its giving me a hard time. I have LOGIC Pro 9- thanks in advance.

  • awesome vid man great quality

  • FL Studio is a music making application for beginners... Logic Pro is a music making application for more professional music makers.

  • THIS SUCKS!!! can someone please tell me how to get smaller grid lines in the piano roll so i can enter in shorter notes , PLEASE HELP!!!

(good vid by the way )

  • @guitarsalert will be posting a tutorials on that soon...

  • @imamusicmogul can you please do it soon :) ? haha

  • @guitarsalert I first learned that trick in garageband and I just downloaded logic 9 and I see the controls are quite the same. Hold down the option key, and on your magic mouse (if you have one) scroll to the right with your finger to make the grid lines longer, and to shorten them slide your finger to the left. To make them higher and shorter it's up/down finger motion.

  • FL STUDIO shouldn't even be brought up in this convo. Its craptastic. Probably made for non-musicians

    Only Logic for me.

  • @7Beyonder Lex Luger made his career using FL Studio

  • @xXKidPizzleXx

That's probably why he always got his ass whipped by Superman.

Go back to the FL Studio pages.

  • @7Beyonder .......hahaha um yea i guess

    you're wack bro

P.S. he won producer of the year

  • @xXKidPizzleXx

Meanwhile, you won nothing. Get offa his dick. Get ya own, groupie.

  • @7Beyonder hahaha you're funny bro

keep talking shit to make yourself feel better

    pathetic

  • @7Beyonder that's luthor lol

  • @AOCRkid

    i don't care. go play.

  • @xXKidPizzleXx

a DAW is only as good as the producer.

  • Can you get logic pro for windows computers?

  • @jrich2944 Nope. Mac.

  • what the hell is ZED

  • wen i try an bring up my virtual keyboard none of my keys are shown on the screen but i get a long piano looking key board.. why is that?

  • FL Studio Vs. Logic ?

  • @TheAir084 Logic is widely thought to be the most complicated music production program enabling you to do things no other program can do really, fruity loops is a user friendly but very versatile and adequate production program, reason is on par with cubase very good but not for beginners and not as user friendly as they could be because they are not really designed for beginners

  • @TheAir084 FL studi is shit compared to Logic. Yeah you can make beats with logic, but it's really supposed to be used for A LOT more.

Don't get me wrong though, if all you're going to do is make beats, stick with FL. It's easier and a lot cheaper.

  • @TheAir084 Plus there is no FL Studio for Mac and Logic for PC.. So if you are a Mac I would go with Logic..

  • @imamusicmogul there is fl studios for mac, my studio has it, and by comparison anyway, logic all the way

  • Comment removed

  • @imamusicmogul you can use parellel desktop

  • @TheAir084

The same question like "hm, Porche or Lada?

    Logic ofc!

Using Logic now, few months ago I was using FL....so I know what I'am talking about

  • @Woolfpiroman - Thanks! :)

  • @TheAir084 Logic anyday :D

  • @TheAir084 logic is better for live recording. FL studio for beats and synths.

  • This was a big help as an introduction to Logic. Thanks

  • how do you make a sample play longer on a single pad/key...i have this mpk mini and trying to figure it out? thanks

  • Is logic pro 9 for iPad?

  • @mommah47 Logic Pro is only for the mac... But it would be really cool if we see a version of it on the iPad...

  • if i wanted to start making dubsted as my career, how much competition would there be? sorta random for this video haha sorry

  • you speak of copy and pasting sections... but how do I get them on the page in the first place??

  • here is my question.

let's say that i want to start off a track with a drumbeat. i open up an instrument and play a short riff and record it. but let's say that my timing when i did it wasn't completely perfect. instead of having to open up the editor on the bottom and fool around with each of the notes to make them the perfect length, is there a way instead to do it much faster?

i'm positive that producers don't have the time to edit tracks like that, so there must be a way...

  • @ddm881 I don't know if you have figured this out by now, two weeks after your post, but on the off chance that you haven't, what you are trying to do is called "quantizing". google it.

  • Google "Quantizing"

  • I have an issue, i just got logic pro and i can't hear what i'm recording, i bring up the piano on the key board, i also plug in my key board but it play back anything through the head phones or speakers, it shows what i played on screen but I cant hear it

  • Is Logic good for making hip hop or rap beats?

  • watch this to see what you can do after learning all of these:

    /watch?v=NwKZKgKzJqY&feature=channel_video_title

  • Very cool. I really appreciate this help, friend.

  • VERY GOOD THANK YOU HOWEVER I DO ASK IF YOU CAN MAKE A TUTORIAL ON MICROKORG MIDI SETUP !

  • @RalphyPlague seconded, I was planning to use my mK as a MIDI controller too.

  • WOW MAN THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEED, THANKS A LOT :)

  • They should make a version for XP...l

  • hey bro... listen can u make a tuto about how to install auto tune in logic or in pro tolls plz, thanks

  • Can you tell me how can i change an vst? i mean that i dont know how if i have a drum machine in a track how can i disable the drum machine and put a synth vst... tnx!

  • Hey, this is really nice.

    Having tutorials like that helps.

By the way, I personally have never used 'logic', until now I've been working on low grade softwares, the last one I have been using is "Mix craft 5" , along with a BOSS GT10,

You can check some of my work on my channel.

But nw I wanna upgrade myself, d only problem is logic is expensive;m just scared whether I'll be able to cope up with it. plz suggest sumthing

  • how does i make an electronic music or dj mixes on logic pro

  • this sounds wierd, but i love the wetness of his mouth... it makes his accent sexier

  • can u inbox me please want to no how to send all my drums to one channel bass to one and fx if possible in in logic

  • Over 11,000 views of my Dr. Dre style beat are from it being in the related videos of this video lol. I have to thank the created of this video cause as long as this is getting views then my video is getting views and I appreciate the people who take the time to listen and give me there honest opinions on my work so I have to thank them to.

  • Hey, can you help me? I'm trying to mute a track but when i click the M button at the header, it turns yellow like its activated, but i still hear it!

    same with the solo buttons.

Good video and thanks in advance

  • thanks so much! :)

  • Really stuck on what DAW to choose, a friend of mine recommended Maschine (which would be convenient since it comes with a controller), but my plan was to wait and get a mac so I could use Logic or Ableton.

  • One misterious question :D i want to install Mac os x on pc :) Hackintos but when i install that,Logic Pro will give a worse sound or ok?because the PC has a different configuration than the mac???? thanks

  • this is a big help thanks

  • I don't like you!!!

  • I got One Big question!

I used the ableton intro version so far and want to buy Logic studio! I produce electro/fidget house.

I've heard crookers and some other big DJs are using Logic.

I wanna make a lot of synth and Bass stuff and a Lot of beatprocessing! some voice and drum Effects

Should i buy Logic Studio or ableton live 8?

  • @TheDJT124 What I always tell people is this.. It doesn't matter what DAW you use but HOW you use it! For me Logic is much easier to use and gets me to where I want to go faster. Would i recommend it? YES!! They are different DAWs but if you really want to get into it and get to do some crazy things I would say Logic... There are some cool feature in Ableton.. But I personally think Logic is a better more well rounded DAW.. Let me know if you have any more questions!!

  • @imamusicmogul I feel that Ableton is a much better composition environment, while Logic is better for mixing. Guess you need both ;)

  • @imamusicmogul i decided logic :)

  • @TheDJT124 Actually its good to use both, Ableton is really good to get ideas down quickly and to do stuff on the fly, hence its name: Live, and it works as a rewire in Logic. Logic is much better at MIDI, it has much more sophisticated MIDI editing and a much better Analogue to Digital converters, so if you are recording any vocals or live instruments, Logic will do a much better job, I use Both

  • ok I see you've got quite a lot of tips up already

  • Really good tutorial, clear and straight forward. Are u going to cover more complicated stuff like sampling, effects, etc.

    I hope so

    thanks

  • do you need a midi controller to control the sounds on logic or can u use the mac's regular keyboard

  • @ajaydatindiekid96 You can use mac keyboard... All you have to do is hit the "Caps Lock" key on you keyboard which brings up a virtual keyboard....

  • @imamusicmogul thanks

  • @imamusicmogul But if you just use the Mac keyboard you have no velocity sensitivity, no aftertouch, no automation which are all very powerful and expressive features. Don't be cheap, you get pretty much what you pay for.

  • thanks a millions for bringing up these tutorials.......im a new user of Logic and your videos are now my bible :)

  • got to luv keyboard shortcuts

    thank you so much.

I've been composing using a mac for 25 years.

learned more in a few minutes than an hour on phone with tech support

  • thank you so much.

  • For techno logic or FL studio?

  • @jlyia010 dont use fl.. it has a bad name for people that make shit trance/techno

  • hey I'm new ti this stuff and all so I was wondering what was better, this or Ableton Live or.... pro tools???

  • @ketochi it all depends on what you main focus is... I think the BEST overall program is LOGIC by far... I have worked with all three and I love Logic... Now Logic is the only DAW I use... It is amazing!!!

  • @imamusicmogul Yeah I 2 am a converted. I used cuebase b4 I got a mac. Mac is definatley the way 4ward.I dnt think its just what DAW anymore. look at Gorrilaz. They made a whole track on an ipad!I have been using logic since version 8. So actually not that long. But I never use anything else. BUT. Like I always say.. Its not what DAW its how u use it whether its ableton cuebase or the often frowned upon FL. happy production ppl!

This is a good spot to ->start ;-)

  • I edited a sample and made a beat. I made the regions for them, but when I put them together, they don't play. How can I get the sample and the beat to play together?

  • can i use logic without a midi controller ????when i use the one in this video i can not hear what i have just made!

  • heyyy the menu your calling the escape tool is actualy called the "command-click tool", im not posting this to correct you or to be a dick like some people on youtube just thought you might wanna know the name :)

  • Hi!

When i try to record, it comes a terrible beep kind of sound. Its very loud and makes it impossible to record. Only software recording works. Why?

  • Thannksss u are making my life more easyyy

  • Easy to follow and understand thx

  • Logic Pro is a good tool to record. Although I am having some a bit of problems from recording. Recording is great, the MPC 1000 is syncing good to my Mixer ALTO AMX-140 FX. Unfortunately I am hearing static from just recoding too Logic and Bounce after words.

    Any Advise???

  • Hey am recording a sample with my midi keyboard... i play the sample on beat...but when i play it back its off... how do i fix this???????

  • @HIYAHLINKZ All you have to do is Quantize the samples.... Usually you will quantize it to 1/16...

  • @imamusicmogul how do i do that?

  • @imamusicmogul and how do you quantize?

  • @HIYAHLINKZ double click the sample. Then go to audio. Then convert to new sampler track. Then open piano roll (or matrix) If this dont work. Edit the sample first) I often use the sampler in all of my work. email me if u have any more q's even if they seem simple. australiandj at the usual.U can also try working in low latency mode if u have a crowded system. ;-) hope I helped.

  • Hey man, helpful straight forward tuts, thanks a lot. Do you have any information on midi controllers, for example, I have an Akai MPK88 and I enjoy using the record, play, stop buttons on the controller... does Logic Auto map these buttons?

  • But how do you move a track around by seconds, not bars.

  • Thank you very much. im trying to switch from garageband to Logic. Appreciate your help.

  • just switched from Cubase 5 to Logic...thanks for putting this up. Much appreciated.

    luv, peace & music ;)

  • are all the sounds in logic? sorry for the silly question.

  • @dhmacko91 there are more sounds in Logic than you can imagine. Plenty of stuff for all kinda stylez. good luck.

  • Will a standard MacBook have enough memory on it to install logic pro 9?cheers

  • I wish I had Logic.

    But I can't because I have a P.C. :(

  • I was hoping somebody could help me out. I am wanting to get started into music production and trying to chose between Logic Pro and Reason/Record. I like electronic/dub style music, but don't want to be constrained just to that. Any advice on which system to use?

  • is this good for making Electronic music such as hardstyle techno and all that good stuff???????????

  • @DJIsaac323 this is an AMAZING program to make any style of music... Especially electronic music... One of my favorite software to use to make electronic music!

  • @DJIsaac323 yeah techno :P

  • how can i see part 2 of this?

  • Can I install logic express 9 jam packs on logic pro 9?

  • Can I instal logic express jam packs on logic pro 9?

  • I noticed that its very alike to garageband

i use to use garageband but it I started using fl studio

because garageband didnt have enough tools and options i was looking for great tutorial

    im trying to learn CakeWalk

    Cubase

    Pro tools

    Ableton Live

Reason trying to expand my music knowledge

  • @armsoviet1 the best thing you can do is pick one DAW and go with it... Either ProTool, Logic are very good ones to begin with... If you are into remixing and live production then you might want to think about Ableton Live!!!!

  • @imamusicmogul Logic pro doesnt support Vsts right

    do the other progams

    support vsts?

  • @imamusicmogul

thanks a lot for your video, I have been djin, only mixing tracks..but just recently became interested in producing remixes..and also making some of my own tracks......what is like the main difference between Logic and abelton?

thanks again for your videos btw...

  • @armsoviet1 You have a mac and used Garageband and then you switch to Fruityloops instead of logic, allow me to laugh. Seriously man you just skipped the best program ever made if you ask me.

  • @M3sslah Well Garageband is a piece of shit to make beats

but good and fair to make vocals for a track

but fl studio is really good for making a track its a kool program

    yes i wana learn logic

but it doesnt come with Vst? how does that work

  • @armsoviet1 Logic on the mac use something called Audio Units, it's their code for VST and most VST's are for both formats. You just have to search for Vanguard AU Mac OSX and so on to find that version. Or whatever AU you want, I just took the vanguard synth as an example of course. Fruity loops is buggy, clipping, and unstable if you ask me, whole PC for me have always felt unstable. So go back and give it a try, but get GURU for it from Fxpansion, a great little drummachine to make beats in.

  • @armsoviet1 Wow that's a lot of programs you use there, must be rich. It is best just to use a program that suits you, in the end you're just going to either get confused or you're not going to learn fast enough.

  • Excellent! 5 stars. Cool!

  • Thank you sooo much for these video's!!!!

  • Hey how do i make so the audio only come from left side or right ??

  • does logic work for pc users

  • AWESOME, thanks! :) Thumbs up!

  • everytime i try to record a sample playing on my oxygen8 to make a beat...i can't seem to get it on time... it sounds off whenever a play back even tho i play the sample ontime

  • thanks it helped me realy much

  • Dude thank you so much!!!!!!!

  • I just got Logic studio today and I was a fan of Fl Studio for windows but I am not much of a fan of windows since I have had my mac computer. I wanted to know if you have MIDI files how do you edit them I have several MIDI files of Linkin Park songs and I want to remix their songs and other songs I have in MIDI format. I am so new to this program because I used to use Fl Studio 8 & 9 on windows.

  • Is this only for macs please answer.

  • very very good and helpful tutorial for beginners (like me haha). thanks a lot!!

  • Please, I need help with my arpeggiator,

This is my issue, I have my arpeggiator working fine but when I bounce the song down it does not show up in the bounce? I am totally stumped I don't know what I'm doing wrong? any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

  • I'm Desperately trying to use my Maschine from NI with Logic...How can i do that?

  • how come i cant hear anything? :/ like when i play were it say "no in" it shows the musical symbol an a line going throw?? PLEASE HELP

  • ive got a questiong.

  • @ExquisiteBeatz yes Logic is strictly for macs...

  • Hey , could someone help me? The copy and paste bit is good here but what If I want to select a small part of the region in track one. . .copy it, and then paste it into another track? I can never do this. It always pastes it to a place I don't want. In Pro Tools you highlight, copy. . .then click the track and place you want to paste, and paste. Can anyone help?

  • ur voice is annoying.. just had to say it :p

  • have logic pro, kjams (karaoke ) , and Alesis mixer. Trying to get Kjams audio to record on input track, and vocals on separate track as I play kjams. Both use USB Audio Codec driver that comes with Alesis. I'm trying to avoid dragging mp3 to track and just record live while I sing via kjams. Both Logic pro and Kjams are set for using USB Audio Codec. I can hear the sound via my mixer fine, but Logic pro does not see it... Can anyone help me hear, I'm a novice. Thanks

  • @gainesma The reason I want Logic pro to pick up the kjams output sound via USB Audio Codec driver is that it will help me keep the kjams sound output in sync with the singing on a separate track easier for me. I want to hit record on logic pro, play on kjams and sing and wind up with the kjams music on 1 track and vocals of singers on the other track. Then adjust sound qualities, mix/rip. Thanks any help is very appreciated.

  • Thank you, brand new to this, need as much help as possible :)

  • is this software legit? plz respond!

  • @almiester1234 Uh, other than Pro Tools, it's the music industry standard.

  • @almiester1234 the software is legit... I love it!!! I used both Pro Tools and Logic, but Logic (for me) is by far better.....

  • @imamusicmogul nice to know u fink logic pro is better!!

  • @almiester1234 its one of the only legit programs there is.

  • every time i try n record it make this loud screeching sound ne reason y??

  • @PoGixViRuS you recording live audio?? You might be having a feedback loop?? Let me know...

  • @PoGixViRuS Yup he's right. you're experiencing feedback. Probably coz you're recording from your Mac's inbuilt mic. Disable the monitor and you should be fine. :) hope this helps friend.

  • Please can u make like a whole serious beginner tutorial ? i just bought a logic pro 9 and i want to learn how to make some sick rhythm with strong beats for loads of bass :P

I dont know ANYTHING about logic pro :'(

  • @Cobra267 try fiddling around with ultrabeat

look up tutorials about ultrabeat on youtube, there are lots of them

    :-)

  • Thanks my man, so helpful!

  • Hey... don't apologize for teaching the very basics. Even for somebody who uses this program often, such as myself, just a simple refresher is invaluable. I hate having to try and find one detail in a 45 minute long tutorial. Thx again.

  • brilliant :) I'm subscribing to you just for this. Have you done any more beginner tutorial videos?

  • thanks man i learned some stuff that really helped!!

  • Guys im a begginer in music production i know how to use garage band easily and im bored with it! I want to buy logic but im not sure if it is so easy what do u think?

  • don't buy it!!

  • you forgot the quick mix key .. Command Q

  • you dont know how long i tried to get the freakin keyboard for the software instrumentals up thanks !!!!!!!
