  • What did the Psychology major say to the Finance major? "Would you like fries with that?"

  • to the girl in the background, im a psychology major, and I care lol

  • Ha! Not with a Degree in I/O, but thanks appreciate it.

  • A degree in Psychology is not the end of the world. "IF" you go into Psychology and rough it out all the way until Graduate School to earn your Doctorate (ideally in Clinical or Industrial-Organizational) then it can become quite lucrative. You shouldn't try to bash other peoples dreams.............they may make more money than you (AKA have more power as a man in society than you ever will). So watch what you say.

    -Finance Major/ Religious Studies Major

  • You sound bitter. It's not so useless when you want your PhD :) and those are not "a dime a dozen." :) yay

  • In all seriousness, as a Psychology student, do you ever get the feeling that Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering students look down upon the social sciences. By the way I took a Sociology course and loved it, never a Psychology course. But, admit it, c'mon: Psychology is a bit flawed.....

  • Most/All Professoions are. Think of Aristotle's Physics. That was standard and was "truth," now it's particle which was more recently transformed into wave. It's all good till something new comes along and proves it wrong.

  • Listen man, I re-read my comments and am aware that I may have come off a bit of an asshole when I wasn't trying to be- Sorry about that man. Im actually a Finance Major at Georgia State University and a Religions Minor (odd combination I know). And when I said slackers in college major in it, I didn't mean people like you (specifically you) but MOST of the people "I" have come in contact with smoked pot and had serious issues themselves and just got a Psych degree just to get a degree.

  • That's cool though that you're ACTUALLY pursuing advanced degrees in Psychology and did not just settle for a Bachelors like alot of the people I mentioned did/are doing. What type of Psychology are you studying in Graduate School? I find Cognitive pretty interesting.....

  • @cdumeohyeah Oh yes. I find many older folk (ie. late 40s and over) make a face when they find out what my major is. I find that they seem to be more blatantly disrespectful sometimes of it than science students.

  • And exactly how far do they get? Any semi-literate fuckwad can scrape by with the bare minimum grades and graduate with their Bachelors degree in most any field. It takes much more than that to pursue graduate studies and obtain a PhD. Besides, people have this notion that Psychology is all about Freud and dream analysis or some other pseudo-scientific pop-psychology crap - which is nothing like the actual domains within the field of Psychology.

  • @cdumeohyeah I've never touched pot or alcohol, and I don't plan on ever doing so. Having a PhD in psychology is certainly not useless. The demand for psychologists is growing, they are employed in various companies who want to know how to appeal to consumers, in schools, in hospitals and many other places. The problem with generalizing is that these blanket generalizations don't apply to all individuals in that group and it's usually based on bias/discrimination.

  • WELL>...At least the Girl is HOT

  • okay i want to be a psychologist but hmm also counsolor..... i just wanted to say I like your long hair but i think it would look alot nicer if you cut it like a male model.lol you probley dont care o well just wanted to say that.

  • ps i care about what u said about evolutionary psyc haha

  • THANK YOU! :)
