I was in First Grade in 1955, so that picture is funny, because I was in Illinois then. WE were all SLIM then, except for my 8th grade brother who was HUSKY. He was a STOUT farm boy, but NOW when I look back at those pictures he seem THIN compared to kids today. We ate really well, but NEVER junk food and ONLY at the dinner table, where my mother served the meals.
