  • The Cathedrals were not only great singers; they were great Christian men! I had the privilege of singing Tenor for them for about 1 1/2 yrs. That's me on the left...the one that someone said looks like Conway T. I will forever treasure my time with those guys. I was privileged to be there during those early years, but it was still a great group. Thanks Cathedral fans! Roger Horne

  • @GITF2rlh thanks for posting, i always loved them but its more important to know they were good men as well. god bless

  • well halleluja...George Younce and the Cathedrals, praise God for these wonderful voices we can hear as we worship the Lord with them. thank you for the post.

  • Listen to Glen's range! Wow! This is my favorite line-up of Cats! Too bad it only lasted for about 2 years.

  • I love Glen Payne the best of all Cathedral singers. He had class, style, tone quality and vocal abilities that got better as the years went by. Have you ever noticed how Rodney Griffin of today's Greater Vision was influenced by Glen Payne, as Rodney holds his hand out when he is singing just like Glen did.

  • To remember for ever...

  • I can't wait to get to Heaven and hear George again. If he sounded this good on earth imagine a glorified George!

  • is it just me or does the tenor look a little like Conway Twitty?

  • It always makes me chuckle when I hear someone say.... so and so is the best tenor or bass or whatever.... But when they say George Younce was the best bass ever.... they are absolutely right! There is no one else who could touch him!

  • @Lakeside54321 JD Sumner was pretty awesome. So is Ray Reese with the kingsmen. Another great Bass is the bass singer with EHSS... I forget his name off hand but he is.... incredible. He's probably one of the best bass singers in the present time.

  • Now that George Younce is gone it is weird listening to this song and watching him when he was a young man with brown hair. What a group of singers that just got better with Ernie Haase. These people will be missed.

  • George was a singer who could sing low. There are bass singers who are low voices but are not great singers. If George had been given a high voice, he would have still been a great singer. The man could just sing. Really a smooth bass.

  • What a great song! And such fantastic voices. Glen could really hold a note! George definitely had the best bass voice ever, with a very natural, warm, relaxed style.

  • every time george would give his testimony over the years, he always stated his bags were packed and i'm ready to go. how about you?

  • I remember many years ago, they would sing this song at Glen's home church in Rockwall, Texas

and they would call it the suit case song. When Glen sing his part there would be shouting in the house.

  • @Neverdie242 Cool.....wish I could've been there......

  • Nice ending on that song. .....Glen performed that solo magnificently. It's nice to see them in their younger days.

  • George Younce ,, was the best , is the best and always will be the best bass singer ever.

  • George was the man!

  • good song
