Yeah it's technically falsetto. He's just compressing voice box to make it louder, give it more..thickness? You can start by trying to talk like blue from blues clues (boh boh!) or cackle or cluck like a chicken, then use that volume and try to make it pretty. Led Zeppelin and AC/DC do gross versions of the same effect with their falsetto.

@420991 It actually sounds higher than he's singing because he's doing it in falsetto. Any guy can be trained to use his falsetto and sing these notes. This guys range is not spectacular, especially his chest voice range which is terrible. A male singer with a good range could hit those notes in chest voice.. that's much more impressive.

hmm, the songs I've heard from nick sound like a strong connection with much richness in his mixed voice register. Occasionally on the higher part of his range, like in "A Whole New World", an airy quality is heard where he has to make the disconnection simply cause he cant stretch the mixed voice that high. Of course, many vocal instructors have different opinions on how the voice works.

Yeah, I suppose that's true, though I've noticed he switches rather quickly between voices in that song compared to others when he has a few beats to prepare for a switch, which may help with achieving a "richer" fasletto. Idk, maybe after some years of my own study I'll be able to make a better call. Regardless, Nick is an excellent singer. I do hope he uses that voice someday for something bigger than Youtube. :)
