The acoustic sounds like it is running through an electric guitar amp. This might give people a negative impression of the Variax's acoustic simulator; if you run it properly clean to a PA (not through an electric amp or model of one) then it sounds much more convincing.

Seriously - for a good example of the 12-string acoustic sound, perhaps try playing Hole-Hearted by Extreme since it's played on a 12-string acoustic. Or perhaps some YES, Tesla, Heart, Pink Floyd, Eagles, America, Seals & Crofts, etc.

Resonator in open G tuning songs might be "In My Time of Dying" by Zeppelin, or "Gunpowder & Lead" by Gretchen Wilson. Just to name ony two this time.

if the tuning is all digital, does that mean it doesnt matter if strings are actually out of tune? aside from the string tension, would this make any difference?

I love these reviews! Glad to learn more about this guitar. But, i wish you hadn't went into the blackstar amp for these models. They felt a little more "robbed" than other demos i've heard with these models

@MintJustin that fizzing sound is not coming from the guitar. We will have thorough sound samples on our website when the guitar launches. You have to give Rob and Anderton a break. They are just giving you a review and overview. They are not going for sonic perfection. :)

that 12 string sound just totally made my mouth water, however it still just sounds too 'digital' but i guess thats to be expected as its difficult to capture the unique full bodied tones of a real acoustic guitar. good effort none the less

@FinalFreedomEclipse The "digital" sound is just the guitar running through a guitar amp and being broadcast in a youtube video. The reactions on their faces should tell you what they are hearing. Look at their faces, even above their words. I just had the guitar player Ray from My Chemical Romance and his buddy from Danzing over at Line 6 and we plugged the acoustic into our sound system flat and they were freaking out. You will too, when you hear it in person. No compromise.
