  • was very good player, his worthy shouldt measure with /on the points.

  • this why hockey players are a cut above all pro athletes. there not savages like nfl nba and even some mlb players. who dnt give a shit if they win or lose and just want that 10 sec clip on sportscenter. u never here of hockey players getting caught with guns drugs. i think pretty easy to figure out why. answer is obvious but ill b politically correct and wont say real reason.lol

  • Being here was one of the most incredible nights of my life. I'll never forget this.

  • Bourdon's last game as well

  • Gah, the 07/08 NHL season was a TOUGH year to be a Canucks fan. Season was a write-off, and we had to say goodbye to the greatest Vancouver Canuck in team history. Trevor Linden... What a beauty! Oh, and Iggy ain't bad either. We need more players like these guys in our game, today.

  • I would love for Iggy to finish in Calgary, if not for moments like this. Linden is probably the classiest player to lace em' up in Vancouver or anywhere. I wonder if they can get him in the Hall as a builder?

  • this makes me tear up - especially when the Flames come over, very classy

  • Classy, even if it's the Flames

  • Where do i get a jacket like that!?!?? 9:36

  • how many people were expecting him to still be in the francise like be a manager for something or something?

  • Gives me chills....

  • So awesome to see Linden, Naslund, and Bourdon in the canucks uniform

  • @asgill4life and rypien

  • Iginla's last game should be against Vancouver as well.

  • Give me all the Ovechkins and all the Crosbys you want and I will still say that Jarome Iginla is the very best player that hockey has to offer. The greatest amount of talent without the douchiness that Crosby and Ovechkin exude.

Oh and I hate Vancouver but Linden was awesome too.

  • Iggy did a very awesome thing there. That was the second class act we saw in the game. The first was H. Sedin running a pick on his own d-man(RIP #28) to let Iggy be alone for the 50th goal. Well done on both sides.

  • who is this sanford? in goal

  • @HelloWorld492 Curtis Sanford, used to be Luongo's backup for a bit

  • why is the viagra ad above the canuck's dressing room

  • @UncleSamProduction Burrows. Heard he is a love machine.

  • iginla in the most classy player in the league hands down!

  • Trevor Linden... The Doug Gilmour of the Canucks! Just pure heart, a great leader and role model, and a true hero for the city of Vancouver. A rare and special breed of hockey player.

  • why didnt luongo play that game

  • @thegoaliefrog1 He did. They pulled him and they put in Curtis Sanford because Luongo let in a lot of goals.

  • I wish every game was like this, fans cheering once their team loses 7-1

  • Classic Iginla. Classic.

  • I miss this kind of classy hockey, nowadays its just hate :(

  • I was there. It was also Nazzy's and Bourdon's last game <3 RIP LB.

  • This was the death knell of a storied, heartbreaking, exhilirating era, but it made way for an even better one.

  • Without a doubt most sportsmanlike moment in Hockey history between two bitter Canadian rival teams. Good on the fans and good on Iginla for all being supportive. Great to see.

R.I.P Bourdon. Would've been an amazing hockey player.

  • Iginla and Linden are among the classiest players in the league. It is no wonder that the teams they lead demonstrate dignity and class, win or lose.

  • awesome respect from both teams and fans . great game and great class

  • Canadians are so respectful.

  • This was Bourdons last game too u know that

  • @SuperMinecrafterDude holy shit that is mindblowing. RIP luc. damn that brings a tear to my eye.

  • BTW I cried while watching this video. I grew up when he was captain and Bure and Courtnall was his right and left hand men. There will never be a truer Canuck.

  • Linden is and always will be the heart of the Vancouver Canucks. Should Vancouver win the cup this year, he deserves to hoist it with his former teammates.

  • lol the game score didnt matter the ceremony was the shit

  • I'm glad I was able to watch him play for The Medicine Hat Tigers while I wasgrowing up. He won the memorial cup for The Hat.

  • simply amazing

  • iginla is a classy guy, knows how to respect the greats.

  • the fact that the canuck fans cheer jerome just shows what kind of guy he is

  • Mike Keenan voted for this video three times.

  • Haha Keenan sure didn't want to shake Lindens hand. Linden would've gave him a nice sendoff as well.

  • I watched this game. Growing up, I've always been a Flames fan, but Canucks have been a favourite too, since I used to watch their games with my Grandma. This game really made me respect the Canucks and their fans even more. When Iggy scored his 50th, I had to double check and see if Sandford (sp?) made the save! Thanks Canucks fans for cheering Iggy. Thanks to Linden for being a great hockey ambassador. And huge thanks to Luo for helping get Canada another Gold medal! LUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • As much as this was Trev's moment, I felt really bad for Markus and how he never got a real sendoff from the fans until his 19 was retired.

And what a class act that Iginla is.

  • @monox2k naslund wasnt as sincere about his departure. not even close. even said some somewhat degrading comments toward the canucks on radio.

  • Iginla raised about 90 notches in my book

  • 8:03. When the the PAA says: from your Vancouver Canucks........ You hear his voice crack a little. Gets me every time.

  • i remember when Calgary was good

  • No one who saw what he did in '94 could forget it.

In the dictionary under the word 'effort' should be game reels of Linden in games 6 and 7 against the Rangers in '94.

  • Iginla= Pure class.

  • Dear NHL, Stop shoving Crosby and OVechkin down our throats everyday. I knwo you think they are hot shit but I find them both completely contemptible. Jarome Iginla has more class in his index finger than those two put together.

    Thankyou.

  • @webly17 Uh....Crosby is pretty classy. I'm not sure why you dislike both of them. I think all the players you listed are fantastic players.

  • I'm a Rangers fan and everyone talks about how Messier delivered the cup to New York (which he did) but Linden carried that Canucks team in 1994 to the finals, and came up huge in Game 7 with 2 goals. Also he seems like one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, so my hats off to you Trevor.

  • iginla and linden... two of the classiest players ever

  • I watched this game with some friends that nights. It was neat to look around the room, and see you weren't the only one that had tears in their eyes.

And it was the night that everyone in the room saw the class that is Jerome Iginla. I don't care if he plays for Calgary, He IS the best all around in the league.

    My 2¢

  • omg i cried again

  • Iginla = Linden

Their levels of class are equal.

  • Iginla is a class act, nobody else like him

  • I was 18 and I cried like a little girl when this haapened. I felt bad for Naslund who just let it be lindenms night even tho he didnt return. Now watching this and seeing bourdon was very sad too.

  • @trevboiii You're right. That was Naslund's last game as well. I didn't even realize that.

  • @boipinoi604 Yeah dude, his night's comin up too DEC,11. Can't wait.

  • Trevor Linden and Jarome are two of the most honourable gentleman in modern sport

  • LUCky i got to see linden play maybe not in his prime but still he was awsome!

  • LINDEN=AMAZING

  • greatest canuck of ALL time.... respect to linden

  • LOL at Vancouver, hes your best all time player in 40 years of championship free hockey

  • thats me holding the sign at 0:11

  • the calgary bench sure erupted

  • i felt bad for naslund, he was like ignored lol

  • that was real class for the flames and iginla good job! thanks trev!

  • 4:37 RIP Luc

  • 2:00 RIP Luc

  • 2007-2008 hands down worst season in canucks history

  • I remember hearing a preseason game on the radio, back in '92 or '93, where the Canucks were playing Canada's WJC Team and Trevor had cut a guy pretty bad with a high stick and he came back and apologized to the guy. That's Trevor. Winners never cheat.

  • As a Canucks fan, way to go Iggy. Class act all the way.

  • I hope iginla's last game is against the Canucks so that we can shoo him the same kind of respect that he showed Trevor. Classy guy.

  • canucks and flames are rivals but for even them to give an ovation just shows respect, respect that trevor deserves

  • bourdons last game too :( sad day for the canucks organization.

  • Luc Bourdon.. :( R.I.P bro. Iggy though, amazing player.

  • LOL 7-1! What a fitting way for his career to end!

  • lol nasland is like, "this is my last game too guys!" but sadly no one cares lol

  • funny how trevor only hinted retirement. how is he supposed to play another season after this?

  • He was such an amazing player, everyone liked him! NOBODY has any right to diss Trev! And the hartbraking thing is he never won a cup :(

  • iginla though hes a blackanese is one of my favorite player just too classy like modano

  • the classiest team in nhl the calgary flames

  • This game gave me a lot of respect for Iggy and the Flames. Thanks to the Flames for allowing Trev's final game to be remembered with class

  • Calgary used to be soo good, what the fuck happend!? i miss when jarome was one of the highest scoring players

  • Dude I've been in Trevor lindin house and my dad has gone mountain biking with him I also had dinner with him

  • Also Bourdon's last game

  • @exapetatera0 R.I,P

  • one of the most respected players to ever be in the NHL.

  • so favorited

  • Class acts! Linden and Iginla.

  • Nice sendoff Vancouver from a Stars fan. Trevor is a great guy as is Modano who also had an emotional farewell in Dallas last night. The NHL is gonna miss these two great players.

  • @cowboynation2010

Modano is Dallas's Linden. Modano went first overall in 1988, Linden second overall. They've had similar careers with their teams too.

  • @Freecell82 modano is the best american born player

linden is what the 856 best canadian player .

linden is goof but modano is a superstar

  • @khav11

Being the best American born player doesn't make him any better. Jannik Hansen is the best Danish born player. Does that make him better than Lindros, Naslund or Forsberg for example? Of course not.

  • @Freecell82 thats just a honor for a 400 millions ppl no?cuntface

  • @khav11

    y so srs

  • @Freecell82 hcawnt

  • @khav11 I guess that that makes at least 856 Canadian players better than USA's best player.

  • @khav11 hahahaha ur on glue, chief

  • @cowboynation2010 Class response. Thanks. Modano was always an amazing player.

  • so much class from iggy trevor linden an amazing career and an amazing player!

  • As a Flames fan I have to give credit to Trevor Linden. He was a class player. Actually felt sorry for him and the Nucks when they lost the -94 finals to the Rangers.

  • i honestly wish we could see more class like this now! our league would be incredable if we had passion and repesct but with bettman they seemed to have been lost over time!

  • okk guys im gonna tell your right now iginla is one of the classiest players in the nhl to do that it shows how much respect he has for every player he is a great person

  • Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand to watch such class during a game between rivals. Way to go guys

  • you knew it was his last beacuse beggign of the game we all knew with out him saying and at the end this put ! on it that it was over

  • Did that snake Keenan come up and shake his hand? Probably not... (scumbag).

  • Wow. He Said Iginla was the best in the game what a guy

  • LOL @ no love for naslund

  • I saw him play a lot when he played for NYI because I have their channel too along with NJD and NYR so I saw him play a lot.

  • awh trevor. <3

  • I really miss Linden.... :'(

  • its gillis, not gilles you fuck head. Linden is a very special player, who's involved a lot with the community, involved with sick children's families, and he has a very special talent.

  • This is probably one of the top 3 most memorable games I have ever watched. It just felt so... "civil", for lack of a better word. A lot to celebrate for both teams and it was just an awesome game to watch, even if the Flames did completely dominate the playing aspect of the game.

Not to mention, watching Iginla going out every other shift and trying desperately to score that last goal was hilarious, even as a Calgary fan.

  • It's always heart-warming to watch this, one of the classiest games of all time.

It's also sad, knowing it was Bourdon's last. :c

  • I remember this night. Linden was always a favorite of mine when he came from the Islanders to Montreal. Tried to catch Canuck games after the double headers on CBC just to watch him.

  • Even rivals can be friends sometimes.

  • @cheapchinaman All my friends, family and even my GF are Ranger fans. I deal with it

  • @cheapchinaman yea but its hard to see now lol

  • I know that Mr. Linden is way too classy for this, but during that post game love-fest (no sarcasm intended, I loved it)...I wish he would have skated over to the Calgary bench and gave Mike Kennan the finger.

  • Retire Naslund.

  • Sounds like they are. Heard this from Gillis on Team 1040 today...

  • Yeah I heard Gills is going to honour him too !!

  • nhl needs more players like iginla

  • @troysmith111111111 and linden....

  • @troysmith111111111 Correction. More players like Linden.

  • @troysmith111111111 fuckin rights

  • @troysmith111111111 NHL needs more players like Trevor Linden

  • @troysmith111111111 Yea a player to screw up in the play-offs.

  • @troysmith111111111 Jk. I know what you mean.

  • @troysmith111111111

NHL needs more players like iggy, but more importantly more players like LINDEN! fucking world class, biggest heart

  • Linden was way better than Naslund

  • not really naslund is the all time goal leader for a reason

  • that was so classy by the flames

  • i love how everyone's insult to the canucks is that we have no cup look at Buffalo and the capitals they entered the league at about the same time as the canucks and they have no cup either

  • i know its pretty funny all the bashing againts the canadian teams too look up canuckssuck, flames suck eventually all six canadian teams will be bashed its really funny becuase they have 24 teams while we have 6 LOL not much of a fight

  • this game gave too much attention to Trevor, THEY FORGOT ABOUT MARKUS!!-nusland. he was also a great captin and leader for years and he stayed ture to the canucks. FOREVER A CANUCKS - trevor lindin 16 markus nausland 19

    ='(

  • true

  • Ladies and fucking gentlemen stop arguing and watch the video. Fuck....

  • Iggy's all class. Mad respect for Captain of team Canada

  • you f**n bum. Sanford you suck i still don't know why they didn't trade that guy.

  • LOL @ 8:22 i never knew fin had a son!!

    Go linden!

  • Greatest Canuck to EVER EVER lace up a pair of skate

  • pavel bure is way better i cud give a shit about heart its all bout stats buddy boi if vancouver wants to win don;t sign shit like shan o brien

  • Fuck off buddy

  • r u stupid u actually think linden was better than bure u most be stupid bure did more for the franchise in his short tenure than tervor linden so call leadership stats always wins over heart

  • i never said he was better i'm just saying don't hate on one of the most respected people to suit up in a Canucks uniform...

morover Shane O'brien isn't that bad he's got grit and isn't afriad to stand up against some of the faggots that roam the nhl

  • grit doesn't mean anything omfg stats is everything y u think penguins won vancouver has the tools to win a cup but we always get screwed over bcuz we have 2 or 3 idiots on the team obiren i w ud trade salo same he's old and some other guy then we have e enough for other players perhaps ilya

  • Stats is everything... haha

there are some really funny specimens in this world,

Hockey is a sport man, Doomsday isn't going to strike if we sign a couple of gritty D men

  • lol i guess thats y vancouvernever won anything lol till u talk we w'll gilles is a smart mman and i bet u he will trade o brien and salo and mid season we have ilya we finnally have a smart gm

  • Now that shows no matter what the Calgary Flames Players have respect. Thanks to the Vancouver fans for cheering Iginla's goal. That is a night to remember. The Vancouver fans showed class, but however this year we will try to beat each other to a pulp.Enjoy your retirement Linden thankfully you won't bother us anymore on the ice Jk. Take Care.Go Flames Go!!!!

  • Well I never expected to watch all 10 minutes of this but I'm glad I did.

  • love you naslund!!

where the f*ck was his tribute?!?!

  • Naslund doesn't deserve a tribute. Just because he scored a lot of points for a couple of seasons doesn't make him worthy of a tribute on par or even close to the one Linden got. Naslund was skill for 3-4 seasons, Linden was heart and soul for 20!

  • oh naslund wasn't heart and soul eh? what your definition of heart and soul...someone who fights and hits? players like that come a dime a dozen..

look no further than game 7 in 2004 vs calgary, naslund take the puck end to end in the final seconds to set up the play that ties the game.

and off ice, how about nazzy's suite 19...a luxury box paid for personally by markus so underpriviledged kids could watch a game.

Naslund was heart and soul, on and off the ice.

  • Linden was heart and soul. All you have to do is look at Game 6/7 of the Stanley Cup finals when he was playing with torn rib cartiledge, but he still kept playing, and scored 2 goals in game 7. Naslund had a booboo on his elbow and that effectively ended his career as a top player in the league.

Naslund had 4 great seasons, but was merely average after that. He wasn't a character player. And notice how since Naslund left, Luongo took over that luxury box for underpriviledged kids?

  • that booboo was a hyperextended elbow, and nazzy played through the pain the rest of the season

that injury will affect any sniper in the NHL,just like bad knees impaired bure's speed and a bad foot made forsberg's play go down

thats great for luongo, if its true, its too bad he said he "wants to go the team with the best chance of winning the cup"

naslund said he wanted to retire in vancouver

too bad they didnt even offer him a contract

after 12 years, i think he deserves more respect than that

  • Where did Naslund say he wanted to retire in Vancouver? I remember for several years he held the team hostage threatening to go back to retire and go back to Sweden. I'm glad we never offered im a contract, because in his final days here Naslund was a bum. He was a line anchor and brought down his linemates, and then threw his former teammates under the bus in an interview after he left. Oh yeah, and he sulked and refused to play AV's system. Yeah, some leader. Naslund is a joke!

  • hostage? oh u mean the contract negotiations where he signed for $6mill a year after winning MVP the year before...while guys putting up similar stats like forsberg and sundin were makin more than $11 million...i understand now

yeah right naslunds a bum, linden was a healthy scratch most the games in his final year...i think he had a whopping 7 goals??

  • This just goes to show you have no clue what you're talking about. The individual salary cap maximum for players that year was $7.8M, not 11. Naslund hadn't won the MVP and has never won the Hart trophy. He won the Pearsson in 02-03, not 03-04.

Linden's skills had diminished, so he accepted a lesser role. Naslunds skills diminished too, but he refused to accept a lesser role, and sulked when asked to play defense. Oh yeah, he captained a team to a divided lockerroom in 05-06.

  • contracts signed pre- lockout were still valid until they ran out, therefore the max didnt apply to those contracts genius. Yes he won it in 02-03, he wouldve won it again in 03-04 if he didn't get cheapshotted by steve moore, as he was the leading scorer in the league up to that point

fyi, the pearson is awarded to the MVP as voted by the players

let's take a look at player salaries from that year shall we

    yashin-$8.4 mill

    forsberg-$11 mill

naslund-$5.2 mill..that seems good for an MVP TO ME

  • LOL, if you think a players salary has any bearing on whether or not they win MVP I really can't help you. And with respect to salaries post-lockout, everyone had a 24% salary rollback. The only player earning above the max was Jagr.

And you can't say Naslund would have won MVP in 03-04. Remember the year before when he CHOKED away the division, the art-ross and richard? And how was his play in round 3 of the playoffs? Oh yeah....he never got there

  • yeah, its naslund's fault his TEAM didn't get past the 2nd round.

Even though he had a point per game...

might i remind you that trevor linden was on that team too

if he's such a magnificent leader, why didnt he single-handedly take them to the conference finals?

cant wait to hear your answer on this one

  • how would u no what happened in the locker room? the canucks have the upmost respect for him and all his teammates say how classy he is

find me 1 piece of info of the canucks ever saying anything bad about naslund as a leader of that he refused to accept a lesser role and you win this argument

    until then, you're an idiot

  • There was a report in the Province newspaper back in 06 from former Canucks players who had reported of the lockerroom divide. It's also obvious by the teams play that they weren't all on the same page that year. And, based on watching Naslund play and sulk on the ice, it's obvious his heart wasn't in it after his boyfriend Bertuzzi was traded away.

You may be a Naslund fanboy because when you started watching hockey he was good, but that doesn't mean he deserves to have his jersey retired

  • ha im a fanboy?

i bring up facts, you bring up things you claim to have heard and seen over the years(no actual proof, facts or links) to defend your case of linden being better than naslund

this hard on you have trev is getting kinda ridiculous

  • LOL. It was in the province newspaper, but I'm not going to waste my time looking it up. Summer of 2006. Go look it up yourself.

And what facts? Your facts were wrong. My facts include Naslund never being past round 2, my facts include media reports, my facts include results, my facts include actually watching him play and judging his demeanour.

anyways this is going nowhere. You're obviously a fanboy over your childhood hero ZOMG NAZLUND SICK WRISTSHOT. Hodgson will wear 19. EAT IT

  • haha hodgsons wearing #9...

i like how you didn't respond to my part of linden gettin 3 points in the 03 playoffs, and 0 POINTS in the 04 playoffs, while nazzy got a point per game

why didn't the great trevor linden lead them to the 3rd round? he couldnt even crack the roster and was forced to retire, nazzy left while still gettin top minutes

    anyways, good night little man...

enjoy jackin off to ur trevor linden hockey cards

  • Why because you saw him with that jersey at the grouse grind? Schroeder got the same jersey. And I didn't reply because you're too stupid to realize there's a difference between a 3rd line role player and a 1st line captain. Naslund was on the top line, Linden wasn't. What about the 07 playoffs when Linden led the team in scoring?

Naslund was a joke and I guarantee you won't ever have his jersey retired, because he doesn't deserve it!

  • pretty sure he cared more about his team than his publicity, so he did soemthing like that... you dont see Iginla playing with torn mcl's or coming back from a broken jaw in three days

  • Jarome Iginla is a great leader and has great class without a doubt... but alfie is honestly the true definition of a captain... hes classy, fights threw big injuries to suffer with his team, gives his heart out, hell of a player, never gives up... and the list continues.....

  • pretty sure alfie shot a puck at scott niedermayer in the playoffs
